Hoke will be fired

You are not a fan if you EVER want the team to lose. Sorry. Some people are cray cray.
November 10th, 2013 at 6:14 PM ^
There's just too much wrong with this statement.
November 10th, 2013 at 6:57 PM ^
You suck...
November 10th, 2013 at 8:50 PM ^
Are you an M fan or no? Rooting for the team to lose? There's so much stupid here.
November 10th, 2013 at 9:22 AM ^
No.
Hoke has beaten it into me that it's B1G Championship or bust. While beating OSU would mean what it always had, I don't get any additional satisfaction.
Other than spoiling a perfect season, it doesn't even do anything.
They can still go to the B1G Championship Game and win, they can still go to the Rose Bowl and win.
Even if they go undefeated, they're not going to the NC game, so that's their likely path anyway. A loss to Michigan doesn't change anything.
November 10th, 2013 at 9:24 AM ^
Yes. But it would also be nice if I won the lottery. And since I don't buy lottery tickets, the odds of the two events happening are approximately equal. And I hate myself for thinking that.
November 10th, 2013 at 9:24 AM ^
But, no one actually still thinks that can happen, do they??? I guess optimism is nice, and I will be there cheering, but come on....

I'm not thrilled with the guy anymore, but if he can beat Ohio, he can't be all bad. At that point the "inexperience/youth" defense would become more credible.
November 10th, 2013 at 12:20 PM ^
Yes! We really want to beat Ohio!!! You weren't serious, were you????
November 10th, 2013 at 9:31 AM ^
lol, I'm imagining the same thread posted around this ime in 2008. the better question is, which team had a better shot of beating OSU, 2008 (on the road) or this team? I submit, 2008.
November 10th, 2013 at 6:58 PM ^
and that is the scariest part of all...
November 10th, 2013 at 9:25 AM ^
It would be nice that's for sure. But a more realistic question would be "will OSU beat us by more than the 50-14 score from 1968?"
November 10th, 2013 at 9:31 AM ^
But hey, at least its a home game so that you can enjoy it in person.
November 10th, 2013 at 9:54 AM ^
And will Urban go for two in order to do it?

that year. Now all we need is for Urban to go for two when up 50-14.
Seriously, we would need to execute (and have Ron Johnson at tailback) to score 14.
November 10th, 2013 at 12:05 PM ^
Hoke is starting to get genuinely concerned that the OSU game could be a nightmare---on many fronts.
November 10th, 2013 at 9:26 AM ^
No it won't salvage the season, but it would be great to beat OSU. I would then wonder how we could beat OSU and somehow lose to PSU and almost lose to Akron and UCONN.

That would be 8-4. We're 6-3 right now.
November 10th, 2013 at 9:33 AM ^
Whoops, you're right.
We're a little worse off than I thought. This team could actually equal Bo's 6-6 season... and this season has similar feel to it.
November 10th, 2013 at 4:01 PM ^
9-3 or 8-4 was about my expectations for this season. However, the way we've gone 6-3 to this point has been was below my expectations. I am mostly still proud of the way the defense has kept us in the games.
I remember attending the Michigan-OSU game in 1993. We were 6-4. OSU was undefeated. We destroyed them to the point the 28-0 score was deceiving. That was awesome. We ended up a fairly satisfying 8-4 that year.
I just don't see it happening this time around. I really hope we're all wrong!
November 10th, 2013 at 4:13 PM ^
I was at the '93 game. It did not feel like a shocking surprise at the time, despite our record.
The four games we lost that year were all winable. There was no game were we did not have a realistic chance. That's not true this year.
November 10th, 2013 at 7:37 PM ^
oh christ fuck this
of the three games we've lost, we had fourth quarter leads in two and in the other we were pretty hopeless but still had a chance to get back into it late in the game.
this is not 2008

Not exactly a murderers row right there.
The NU game was the best "performance" against the highest quality opponent since ND. ND is our only quality win. solid wins vs Minn, IU, CMU. Utterly destroyed by MSU.
this is the worse performance against the worst schedule - certainly comparable to 2009 if not 2008.
The point is, you can't pull the "we almost won in the 4th in 2/3 losses, when we almost lost to akron and uconn- and those were closer games against poorer opponents.
If not for 2008 & 09, this would be the worst Michigan team going back to the 60s, at least.
November 13th, 2013 at 8:06 PM ^
Taking another special break from my MGo exile, because I respect you. The OP said we were competitive in our 4 losses in 1993 as opposed to this year. I pointed out that we were "competitive" in two thirds of our losses this season. So my point, even by your logic, is valid. Also, the team I'd most compare this one to is 1984.
November 10th, 2013 at 9:31 AM ^
0-3 is a huge possibility. I would be happy with 1-2. Sad face. Has anyone noticed how our Ball security has been amazing? Weird, right?
November 10th, 2013 at 9:40 AM ^
We are not keeping the ball enough to give it away.

November 10th, 2013 at 9:53 AM ^
A lot of that is due to our QB now taking the sack when he could be throwing it away or trying to make the play. He's done a 180 in that regard.
November 10th, 2013 at 9:57 AM ^
0-3 is a virtual certainty.
FIFY.

Let's not forget that NW hasn't won since September. They're probably in an even worse emotional state.
November 10th, 2013 at 10:09 AM ^
Oh for Chrissakes, are you really resting your hopes on that? That's EXACTLY the mentality that everybody had going into the PSU game. And the game yesterday.
