Here's the thing. You say Brian's in an echo chamber and in the same breath say that other opinions (Brian's, in this case) aren't of any value. That's an echo chamber. Dialogue is essential to breaking down barriers and learning more. Shutting it down does no one any good whatsoever and it creates the kind of miasmic climate that is pervasive in politics.
I don't think you're completely wrong about the "keep the sports blog on sports" thing, and on this website they seem to do a fairly decent job with keeping it that way. However, if we're talking about the @mgoblog Twitter account, which is (to my knowledge) Brian's personal and only account, I don't see why he should have to refrain from stating his thoughts on whatever issue he'd like to. He has a voice. If people don't want to listen, then don't. That's pretty easy, especially if it's Twitter or a website like this one.
As I said, what Brian wrote isn't wrong. I was just predicting he'd get some flack from others because people can't separate facts from emotion.
Also: Brutal as in "brutally honest." Given the circumstances, pointing out that someone has been awful at their job for their entire career may warrant that terminology. Now is it GoT/WD brutal, I don't know.
One of my favorite parts about the charts was the comments that you put in the far right column. Those have disappeared since you've added PFF grades in there. Might I request a return of the comments? Yes, I love the data, but the often snarky or whistful comments was what really put it to A++ territory for me.
Now I'm just a nobody posting on an internet board, but...it seems to me that there's no way an offense should be that much father ahead of the defense, especially with in the first year of a program. I'd guess, as others have already pointed out, that their defense is pretty bad.
Their offensive play makers did look fast, though.
Totally agree about the cost. It's simply ridiculous considering the sport is an "amateur" one. And it seems like just a few years ago, the tickets were close to half the cost that they are now. As you indicated, it's cheaper and often more comfortable watching at home.
Well, I know nothing about football, but I have heard of Bo, so I'll inspire them by singing "Once in a Lifetimes" over and over again but replacing "Same as it ever was" with "THE TEAM!!!"
Then, to get the team's brain grapes juicin', I'll discuss the merits of government buildings and why air is actually a really fantastic thing for all of us. Then, just before the game starts, I'll do a little dance for them, confuse-a-cat style.
Lastly, after the team loses horribly because, again, I don't know a damn thing about American football, I'll knock out my interview with the media. Everyone else will be going, WTF? but I'll think everything's great cos I've been high as a kite since I woke up for glazed donut munchies this morning.

Is it for certain that Peppers is leaving this year? Sorry if this has been discussed...I may have missed a confirmation post somewhere.
Wow that eulogy was brutal, Brian. I'm not saying that it's refutable, just that you're a braver man than me. Prepare thyself for thy mentions.

With all the crap the kid takes, I'd honestly be okay with one every week.
