Baylor and Houston. Definitely a Texas guy.

I don't think that word means what he thinks it means.

I don't like those. I would settle for 1,000 buckeyes to smash and flush down the toilet.
November 30th, 2015 at 5:54 PM ^
they have those over at Wiscy. Just watch your back.
November 30th, 2015 at 7:58 PM ^

“None at all,” he said. “I’m done. No more.”
And how will he respond when other schools persist in recruiting him?
“I won’t respond,” said Elliott.
November 30th, 2015 at 5:55 PM ^
This was probably scheduled before he committed. I have no inside information or anything, but this reads to me like a courtesy call more than a real thing.
November 30th, 2015 at 6:03 PM ^
If so, why not tell Texas not to bother?
November 30th, 2015 at 6:25 PM ^
Lots of reasons. Maybe he can rep other players he goes to school with. Maybe his high school coach wanted him to keep the visit so that he doesn't burn bridges with the UT coaching staff. Maybe they've developed a relationship and he wants to explain his reasoning without being a dick.
November 30th, 2015 at 6:31 PM ^
That seems doubtful. College coaches are pretty busy this time of year. I don't think they're going to waste their time on in-home visits to prospects they think they have no shot with.
Even if Elliott somehow views this as some kind of courtesy gesture, he's giving Texas a chance to make its big sales pitch. Realistically, we're probably going to have to battle to keep his commitment through to February.
November 30th, 2015 at 7:34 PM ^
then he should have waited two days to commit to UM
November 30th, 2015 at 5:52 PM ^
The Texas HC can pitch him all he wants, but I doubt he'll have a very....strong....case...
November 30th, 2015 at 5:54 PM ^
I see what you did there...
November 30th, 2015 at 6:00 PM ^
Well, look at the big brain on BFoley! :-)
November 30th, 2015 at 5:53 PM ^
I don't think this is a big deal in general, and saying he's not fully committed because of this is laughable in the current age of crootin' (sorry TIMMMAAY). But my initial reaction is still puzzlement because he did say he was shutting everything down and would not respond to schools if they came calling.
Perhaps they sweet-talked him a little bit. Maybe he'll hear them out and send 'em packing. Maybe he hears from them a lot, they won't stop, and he wants to firmly tell them in person that he's done. Who knows? We don't, so we can't judge or worry about it.
November 30th, 2015 at 5:58 PM ^
twas merely a princess bride joke. i think nothing.
oh, and that neg isn't from me.

November 30th, 2015 at 5:53 PM ^
Buut but buuuuut he just said he wouldnt even listen to anyone else! Just yesterday.
This guy feels like Chris Clark of the class.
Downvote away! :D
November 30th, 2015 at 5:59 PM ^
He's decommitted from other schools. Houston, Baylor.

BUT, we are Michigan, they are not.

Here he is last night talking about coming back to Ann Arbor on December 10th. We're good.
November 30th, 2015 at 5:53 PM ^
While I like Texas, their history, their uniforms, and their place in the Texas public university hierarchy, they're currently what ... the fourth best football program in the state?
Michigan has a much better story to tell, with a much better coach, and a program that is truly ascendant. If we lose him to Texas (and we shouldn't), he was never really committed to Michigan in the first place.
November 30th, 2015 at 8:46 PM ^
He has commited to Michigan. Even if it's a soft commit, I don't see what Texas has to offer a UM commit.
November 30th, 2015 at 5:53 PM ^
Read the recruiting roundup. He says he won't respond to advances from other programs. Well, I don't blame him. I'd look at every option, but if you're going to say it flat out, might as well plan on keeping your word.
November 30th, 2015 at 5:54 PM ^
If you look at his recruitment this shouldn't be a surprise. Chris Clark part 2. He will de-commit and re-commit 7 more times.
November 30th, 2015 at 5:58 PM ^
I wouldn't say that yet, but his commitment is definitely not solid. I'm curious to hear what he said after committing to Baylor and Houston.
November 30th, 2015 at 5:57 PM ^
This was already scheduled? Might as well let them visit. Don't see it as a big deal tbh
November 30th, 2015 at 6:03 PM ^
Ummmm, pretty sure I'd change MY commitment. Just saying.

Pretty sure my visit would be very quick. "Hey - this happens to a lot of recruits. No sweat."
