Desmond Morgan gives up #48, will wear #3
With the news of 11, 21, 47, 48, 87 and 98 jersey numbers going into retirement yesterday, I figured this was a bit of relevant news.
There were questions on whether Desmond Morgan would get to keep the #48 jersey that he has worn since 2012.
Well, judging by these posts of his on Instagram, it looks like he's going to have to give #48 up.
His new number choice is very interesting, though.
It was his number at West Ottawa H.S. where he manballed as a middle quarterbacker

I loved his high school film. Especially his offensive film.
I believe he wore #3 as a HS QB.

I thought he wore 2 but it's likely that I'm wrong.

I like it.
I'm only asking this WD because I know you'll know via the well-known Superbooks.
Have we ever had a LB wear #3?
Mike McCray had it in 2013 when he redshirted but then switched to #9 shortly after.
As for guys who played wearing #3 at LB, none.
You're amazing
(twss)
I disagree with your use of "TWSS" here. While yes, "you're amazing" could be what she said in a sexual way, this phrase is best reserved for lines that can be flipped into more of a quite lewd and inappropriately timed sexual innuendo (ex: "The hot dog was big, I could barely get my mouth around it.")
Depends if you count Stevie Brown a linebacker or not. I think he was listed as one.
He was listed as S/LB on the roster back then, but played a majority of his career at safety.
He only played that hybrid spot his senior season. Technically he does count as a LB who played as #3, though.
You have quite the large following of down voters!
It's Dave B logging in with multiple screen names down-voting.

I think Stevie B was a hybrid LB, right?
At one point he was a LB more than a S. I remember it was a role he was pretty good at.
stump the WD - sounds like a game we should play
3s a crowd.
Down at our rendezvous, 3 is company too.
Marlin Jackson, clap, clap, clap clap clap!!!

More like . . . fap, fap, fap fap fap.
Love Marlin.
It's all you koalas ever think about. Sex, sex, sex. No wonder ya'll have chlamydia.
Agree 100%. I also have crabs.
Oh crabs, the possibilities.
C'mon man...
You're giving a bad name to marsupials.
Kangaroo . . . Psh.
Revenge is a bitch.
In the coming weeks, I think we might need to have some sort of open forum for other marsupials on the board - bandicoots, wallabies, possums, wombats....and so on - so we can talk about a formal policy for the treatment of this particular infraclass of mammals to prevent any tension. Let the mods know if there is interest - we can set that up.
I'm fine if you want to invite everyone else, but leave the koalas out of it. They are just plain mean.
This guy must be invited. No questions asked.
Def invited. Adorbs.
Koalas are mean. I will never deny that. I am honest though and I believe that to be admirable. Maybe a open forum would help toward uniting these long time foes and we can all unite as one marsupial nation where kangaroos don't kick adolescent koalas. Probably not . . . but I can dream.
I'll defer if any (non-koala) Austrailians want to chime in, but I'm pretty sure the kangaroo was a joey too.
LOVE Marlin Jackson
Isn't unheard of, but it's not common. Vic Beasley wore #3 for Clemson as a rush end, but I can't think of anyone else fairly recently at a position like this with this number. Will take a few games to get used to Morgan wearing #3 but nothing more.
Last great Michigan linebacker that I remember wearing #3 was Shonte Peoples.
All for funky numbers.

Is that small child in front of Desmond you!?!?
EDIT: wait . . . are you the curvy person in light blue on the left?
For some reason I think him wearing 3 is FUCKING SICK.
Do it for Tripp Welborne
Do it for the kids.
It's been over a decade since the #3 was worn by a great player. It's time it gets back on one.
I bet you any money Morgan is one of the captains.
Captain Morgan.
How you've convinced me to do things I shouldn't have.
3, that's the magic number. Tripp is still one of my all time favorites, too bad the injuries cut his career short. Desmond will represent it well.
I kind of love when big players wear small (especially single digit) numbers.
I also love when tiny players wear large numbers.
If we could have a 5'8" slot wear number 99 somehow that would be awesome...not sure if it's allowed though.
I want a kicker to wear #99 so badly.
Sam Buckman from the 2006 season? Walk on kicker who wore #99 Link. You are slipping WD.
