Desmond Morgan gives up #48, will wear #3
With the news of 11, 21, 47, 48, 87 and 98 jersey numbers going into retirement yesterday, I figured this was a bit of relevant news.
There were questions on whether Desmond Morgan would get to keep the #48 jersey that he has worn since 2012.
Well, judging by these posts of his on Instagram, it looks like he's going to have to give #48 up.
His new number choice is very interesting, though.
did someone just correct WD on miscellaneous uniform history?
#21 will not be in circulation.
This is Bobby.
For some reason I was thinking Bobby Hebert was #3 on the Panthers, but obviously he was #11. A quick dive in to Panther history revealed that #3 was none other than CMU's own Novo Bojovic. I hope this information will help someone else sleep well tonight.

He definately wore #3 as both a QB & LB in HS. Although they ran more of a spread than Manball at WO.
Wild to think he was one player that was recruited & offered by Rodridguez, Coached by Hoke and will finish his career under Harbaugh. If anyone will be a great interview for JUB's next book I would think it would be Des.
Desmond is also the only player left on the team from the 2011 recruiting class:
Justice Hayes
Blake Countess
Brennan Beyer
Antonio Poole
Chris Bryant
Kellen Jones
Raymon Taylor
Frank Clark
Jack Miller
Russell Bellomy
Thomas Rawls
Chris Rock
Delonte Hollowell
Tamani Carter
Matt Wile
Keith Heitzman
Chris Barnett
Gregg Brown
Tony Posada
None of those guys are that.
Yes, the attrition and lack of production in this class was rediculous! Granted it was Hoke's first class with limited recruiting time but damn looking at that list makes me shake my head.

Also, Jack Rudock will wear #15 here like he did at Iowa.
Garrett Moores changed from #15 to #16 so #15 opened up. There will be two offensive players with the same jersey number, granted both are walk ons.
Obligatory "WHO IS JACK RUDOCK!"!"!"!"
Your welcome.
Because I was thinking of Jack Wangler being #16 who is the other offensive player who will wear #16 this year.
UGH
It's Okay. We all make mistakes.

too soon?
LEGENDS jersey. Show some respect!
Dumb. I mean, I get it that he is trying to be respectful, but that is his number. Whatever. They are just jersey numbers, after all. I'm sure he doesn't care.
How dumb would it look changing to #3 on senior day because your jersey number is being retired that same day for someone else?
Well, Desmond Morgan's number was #44.
His number? It had President Gerald Ford's name on the jersey for crying out loud.
This isn't official yet is it? He is still listed at No. 48 on the official website. I don't like how this says "will wear #3" when it's not for certain. Maybe I've worked in PR/communications too long...
That's because they aren't announcing the full numerical roster until everyone is there for fall camp and they can make it a complete roster with updated heights and weights.
Besides, that's a spring roster you're looking at. Pipkins and Norfleet are still on it.
I had the same kind of thread about the MBB freshmen numbers about 3 weeks before the roster was released.
Go blue
#1 should be retired for A.C. and #2 Woodson.
Michigan Football is Michigan Football. The goal for kids is to make a new legacy for a number and try to get to that point of your number being retired for you.
I'd love to see 98 continue in rotation. Especially with QBs and RBs.
I loved number 1 always going to a top reciever. I think keeping special jersey numbers was a great idea, just don't think the patch was necessary.

I am doing the roster for NCAA 14 and i was wondering if that number change was confirmed. Right now he is # 13 on the game but i will be updating his and Morgan's numbers tonight if this is true.
