Coaches' timeouts are worse. Basketball teams should get one, full stop.

Maybe by the end of the year but he didn't come in at that weight.
I'll split you the difference but you owe me 2lbs...

A starting line of Magnuson, Bosch, Glasgow, Kalis, Braden would average 305lbs. Mags being the lightest at 295.
Kugler is up to 295 from 275 from last year as well.

I see the coaching moves as the best possible scenario without wholesale changes to the coaching staff. Hoke is acknowledging on defense at least that the prior coaching assignments were not leading to the player development that we all would like. Manning as DB coach will not be an issue. I saw a quote from Todd Howard somewhere saying that coverage skills for a DB were instinctual but jamming, getting off blocks, hands were all skills that needed to be refined and coached up. I think any competent LB coach could positively make this transition. These are definitely the skills that need to be improved if we want to play more m2m so I guess we'll see come fall.
Jake at Mike is pretty exciting news for me. I think as many have alluded to that we'll see a transiton in scheme this year that places an emphasis on size and speed in the back 7. I wouldn't be suprised if we see 60-70% 4-2-5 with Jake and Gedeon at the LB's by B10 play and a rotation dependant on personell of Jabrill, Ross, whoever shows themselves at the hybrid. I think Bolden will be the first off the bench and that Morgan will see a decreased roll this year (He'll still be a team captain). If they want to get bigger at LB as Mattison has said on several occasions I think this allows them a little more time to groom McCray as a Mike instead of Sam.
A back seven of:
Spur/Sam: Ross, Peppers, Gant
Mike: Ryan, Bolden, Morgan
Weak: Gedeon, Bolden, Morgan
BCB: Taylor, Stribling, Lewis
FCB: Countess, Peppers, Lewis
SS: Thomas, Hill
FS: Wilson, Clark
Who knows how things will shake out in spring and fall but the potential is there for us to have a much more dynamic and athletic defense by getting the best 11 on the field. I think this involves a change in scheme and personel starting with our best defender in the middle. The D line is a mystery to me with so many unknowns at this point but I think we see a significant improvement in playmaking in the back.

I can't believe no one has brought up Tressel yet. Great recruiter, hybrid offense. OSU heads would assplode!

I was section 17 row 85 with two of my friends. Not very many Ohio fans in that section but there were two, one with a Spielman jersey that stood directly in front of me the entire game. Even with some rude request for him to sit coming from behind he never turned around or said anything except some friendly chatter to those directly adjacent.
I was there for 2011 and there were a considerably higher number of Buckeyes this year. I'd say it was 20-25% Ohio folks easily, maybe more. They were loud for three quarters, right around 10 mins left in the 4th I was mentioning to one of my friends that the Ohio fans had gone silent and Spielman turned around, probably the first time all game and said "we're scared".
Didn't seem to be as loud as UTL or Ohio 2011 but overall the atmosphere was great! I'm surprised noone has mentioned what a great show that the Ohio marching band put on. They put the MMB to shame and were eye poppingly awesome.

Hoke has won over 70% of his games but your stats are inaccurate. 2-1 vs Notre Dame, 1-2 vs MSU (how many TD's in those 3 games) and 1-1 vs OSU. With a few exceptions, during the last three years even when the team has won they haven't looked intimadating. I think the problem that most are having with team 134 and Hoke & Co. in general is the eyeball test. Hoke led teams have been abysmal on the road. This team has not shown a tangible progression as the season has unfolded. There are a lot of apologist and prognoticators on why this is, but I'm dissappointed. There are coaches doing more with less.
There are still wins to be had this season. Being a fan for the last 30 years I can only name a few losses that were worse than the beating we took last weekend. I hope the leadership on this team steps up and shows some pride in finishing the season strong wins or losses.

I'm can't say that I'm suprised about the blah, blah, not enough talent talk. Hoke and Co. have already proven they can take a bunch of guys that have been completely vilified (2010-D) and turn them in to a top 20 defense. The talent level on the Dline is above average to good at the moment. Our older guys like Washington, Black, Clark are by no means All-Americans but anyone of them have the potential to be at least 2nd-team All B10 by years end.
Ojemudia, Pipkins, Wormley, Henry, Heitzman are all guys who are in their first or second year playing college level football. These guys aren't good rabble, rabble. We need more stars rabble, rabble. Give it a break guys. Defensive and offensive lines need time to mature. The lines are the hardest positions to make an impact no matter how great you were in high school. Dlineman need to be responsible for their gap assignments and or blow people the eff up!!! Rotation is necessary to have an elite line in today's high tempo offenses. Mattison wants guys to go as hard as they can every snap, who can do that for 60-70 snaps?
tl:dr: We're young, give these guys time to mature and they'll be very good. Heavy rotation lets the guys go hard as they can.

Dilman has huge upside, he is kinda of Devin 2.0. I think there are still some issues around his immigration status, notwithstanding the coaches being ultra selective with their QB offers. He's a beast, Want!

I was there, it was easily more like 60/40 OSU fans over Cal. Shameful really, OSU dominated on the field and off the field - OSU fans were way louder, organized chants and what not. Hell the Cal fans were even in envy of the OSU band.
Cal is a poor football program at the moment I'd be suprised if they won 4 games this year.

52-13 Meeechigan! 17-10 Notre Dame,
I'm guessing that we see a renewed vigor from the offensive line, maybe a Chris Bryant sighting. Two 100 yard rushers, neither named Devin. I can dream.
