Coach Manning is awesome.

Maybe I'm missing something. Here's what I've done so far:
1. I read your post. It was very shortt so not much time wasted here.
2. I clicked on your link and saw a picture of somebody I'm assuming is coach Manning kinda making his "war face" selfie
3. I went back and re-read your post to see if there was some nugget or pearl of wisdom tying the post to the war-faced selfie but didnt find anything.
Help me out here. What's the point of this?
The point is you need to get the stick out of your ass, dude
I was honestly confused by the point of the post. I didnt know there was a video associated with it (just thought it was a picture) but somebody downstream answered the question so now it makes more sense to me.
And by the way......everytime I see you post I have to take a second and see if it's you or Eric from Dayton as you both have the same coach B avatar. I would feel bad if it was Eric making fun of me.....your admonishment's I can handle.
Guessing you are using Chrome.
Enter “Chrome:flags” in the address bar.
Find an entry that says “Disable hardware-accelerated video decode.”
Click “Enable.”
Your videos should now play just fine.
an outdated version of Safari. You can try Firefox and it'll work or you can download the Vine app and view through there.
Either way, Vine posts are 6 second videos that loop and if you can't see it play, basically he's saying he was at Target and someone thought he was Devin Gardner. He thinks that it has something to do with him getting back into shape at the gym. (and he says it in a much cooler way.)
Agree with the OP that coach Manning's social media posts are pretty awesome.
Mgrowold, is it really necessary to criticize every post that you don't agree with? Kind of childish at times.
... Maybe his crotchety "get off my lawn" attitude belies his age... which reinforces his disdain for new media... or new anything.
and has nothing to do with age, sex, race, religion or sexual orientation.
That is awesome, though. Keep workin', coach.
I'm 60, and 100% agree. There's nothing more frustrating than being stuck behind some old codger slowly driving a Winnebago on mountain roads out west. Or being stuck behind a Prius-driving old lady in an Ann Arbor parking structure slowly going .5 mph as she looks for an open spot and then takes 10 minutes pulling into the spot. Or waiting for the old coot in front of me to press the gas pedal after the light turned green 20 seconds ago at Jackson and Maple at rush hour.
Is that how you see me? If so I'll try and work on that cause no, it's not necessary.
FWIW I do want to apologize to both the OP and JimBob for being dickish in this thread. I just finished making a presentation to my company's Board of Directors and I'm waiting (nervously) for the results of my cancer screening so I'm sure that's not helping my tone any. It sucks cause I was suppose to get the results yesterday but the lab screwed up the test and they had to re-run them. Trust me when I tell you that the wait to hear if you'r cancer is metastizing or not (my particular form of cancer can be identified through a urine test) is no fun at all.
So again....I'm sorry.
Jebus MGrowOld, good luck and godspeed with all of that.
I always turn to this place to get my mind off of unpleasant things, but my unpleasant things pale next to yours. Best wishes on your treatment and recovery, and hope this remains a good place for mood assist and diversion.
mGrowOld, prayers it turns out the right way.
Thanks guys. I truly appreciate the kind words and encouragement.
Edit: GOOD NEWS!!!!!! At least for now my cancer is NOT, NOT, NOT growing. I think I'm going to name it Ohio State cause I'm going to beat it too!
Congrats, and keep up the good fight.
Most excellent news on the cancer front. Puts things in perspective, I bet...
I wonder if Urban Meyer will give you free tix to the game down in Cbus next year after you've beaten your personal OSU.
Is it just me, or is Mrs. MGrow looking a bit less fuzzy today?
Thanks Don. And yes on the Mrs pic being less fuzzy - I fixed the problem my inadequate downloading skills created.
I'm not going to hold my breath on the OSU tixs though.
"Inadequate downloading skills." So that's how you refer to it, eh?
I used to think your wife might be a prime candidate for a mannequin at, oh I don't know, let's say Spencer's.
But NOW, at age SIXTY?! Oh yeah, she fine.
Good luck and Godspeed mGrowOld... may you get to do what your username implies
of Coach manning saying how he got mistaken for Devin Gardner. You weren't really missing anything groundbreaking...
Translation of "What's the point of this?" is: "Get OFF my lawn!"
BTW - Loved the 6 seconds of pure energy !
Go Blue!
He does look a little like Gardner though, but like 40lbs heavier and 2 inches shorter...good stuff.
I thought it was funny. Hit the weights, peeps. Hit em hard. Beat Ohio!
although it would be sort of hilarious if the Vine captured the moment when he hits a stop sign.
... "I don't get Vine" group. I work in the web/mobile industry, have launched many succesful products, and I still don't understand the appeal of Vine. Nor do I find Vine videos very funny. I learned long ago not to pass judgment on new technologies I don't understand, so this is a statement of my ignorance more than anything.
I don't get why it's considered innovative. Isn't it just short videos? Haven't we had the technlogy to do this for years?
I'm assuming Vine makes it easier to share them, just as Instagram did with photos. Making it easier made it a thing. As with Instagram, I like a lot of it
a 6 second video clip without sound that can be ebmedded anywhere and easily taken. I guess you could have done the same thing with youtube, but those are generally longer videos. It's like twitter vs. facebook to a certain extent.
When I click on the little speaker symbol with an X next to it (in the upper left hand corner of the video), I get sound.
Not that it really helps much, though.
Vine isn't exactly innovative... but it's appealing because no matter how you mix the video up, it still won't be longer than 6 seconds.
6 seconds is the perfect amount of time for someone to try to make me laugh. After that, you've lost my attention. Fooking ADHD...
Thanks, maizedandconfused.
I'm old and crotchety but I thought that video was pretty amusing.
Also, I now might have a thing for Coach Manning.
depending on how he does with his coaching duties/learning from Mattison, the sky seems to be the limit for Coach Manning.
I feel so justified for the thread I created two years ago or whatever comparing Devin to Manning! Admittedly, I did pick two pictures of them that didn't look very similar, so I definitely deserved the negbomb I received, but I've always thought they looked alike.
Seems a bit dangerous Coach
