Being a dickbag is trolling. "FTFY" is a dickbag move. As a fellow dickbag, I would know.
This post (my post) is also trolling. Flamebait would be acceptable as well.
Preach brother.
Everyday on here posters pathetically whine about getting negged in spite of their awesome posting skills.
Pro tip: if you are constantly getting negged, it's because you constantly come of as a Dickhead
the culture of the Irish?
How Americans celebrate this holiday is an abomination. Our country has issues. Whether it is racism, homophobia, or flat out cultural bigotry and ignorance, Americans of all political leanings, genders, and ethnicities have proven themselves to be insensitive louts. The problem is that people are only sensitive to those people society has deemed it necessary to be sensitive to. People are rarely aware enough of history to consider that a name for a drink is incredibly insensitive.(How many people have died as a result of car bombs in Ireland?)
As they say at Wrigley Field, "Shut up and drink your beer."
*raises a glass*
Guinness now, Shamrock Shake later. Not very imaginitive, but delicious.
Game is awesome, but having to listen to Dickie V is almost unbearable. I love Gus Johnson, but could you imagine the two of them doing a game together?
I've thought Vitale is unbearable for the past thirty years.
he was a good indicator that your team was playing a big game. Same way Billy Packer was always assigned the lead game on CBS. I enjoyed seeing Michigan in the spotlight. Eventually I looked at both of them as a jinx and now just a pain.
If you can get it, Murphy's Irish Stout has surpassed Guiness in quality recently IMHO. The company that owns Guinness went through all kinds of shady restructuring in 2009, including closing the orginial Johnnie Walker plant in Scotland. Yuengling Dark Brewed is also a good choice if you can get it. Plus of course whatever your local micros can get.
Yeah I usually prefer Murphy's. I live in Ann Arbor so Yuengling is not an option but I will try that next time I'm out east. I didn't realize that the company that owns Guinness also owns Johnnie Walker. I guess that explains why it has lost so much of its character in recent years. Feels weird to even say it but I think as blended whiskeys go Dewar's may be on about the same level as Johnnie Walker.
If you like the darker stuff, Blue Tractor has an excellent Irish ale on tap right now. I blew through a growler of it last night. Not exactly right for making black and tans, but an excellent darker option in its own right.
Black and Tans was the nickname of the reserves of the Royal Irish Constabulary. They were well known for their brutality.
People really need to learn their Irish history. The suffering of this people was immense. Black and tans, Irish car bombs.. these are names that need to go the way of Native American mascots and racist caricatures of African Americans on syrup bottles and boxes of rice---oh, wait.
I agree with you because whenever I drink Black and Tans I find my hatred for Irish people is only exacerbated.
on Martin Luther King Day?
I''ll never understand the double standards practiced by some in regards to the experiences of people with light and dark skin.
Oh I agree with you a hundred percent about the double standard. I won't even go down that road.
I recently picked up some Guinness Foreign Extra Stout. It is one of the best stouts I've had. May be worth giving it a try if you can get it.
Sam Adams! Nervously awaiting the Selection Show and the CCHA Game 3s later on to determine who Michigan will play at JLA next weekend.
Like Brady, I own nothing green (or red) nor will I wear ever (Red Wings gear is white). But anyone who is wearing this....this shirt is just wrong-
i like that shirt a lot.
Goddamnit, the day Hoke and Mattison came to Ann Arbor, they rolled in the door like this:
And they have been killing it ever since. Love those two's recruiting talents
I've got a good feeling about Hand. I've encouraged some of them to "Go Blue!" and re-tweeted some of their comments about Michigan. Hand has always seemed interested.

Really though Saint Patty's day has got to be one of the worst days to drink in AA, the bars just go insane on their prices. Connor's is a cover charge and five bucks for a shitty little couple of Guiness right now. We always made the Spring Game our belated Saint Patty's all day bar crawl since the prices had returned to normalcy and plenty of other people went out post Spring Game.
Murphy's Irish Stout here.
He could still be drankin', though.
I certainly won't be resorting to Miller Lite.
The Red, the Vanilla Porter, the Summer Shandy (which is the worst thing I've ever put in my mouth), Leinenkugel's classic or original or whatever it's called.
I tried the Big Eddy Baltic Porter at a bar w/out knowiing it was Leinenkugel, and I loved it.
