2012 Student Football Ticket Price Set
Athletics released the price for student football tickets today: $195 for tickets, $10 service charge, and $10 for the T-shirt, if you want one. If memory serves, this is the exact same price as the 2010 tickets were. Tickets go on sale this Wednesday through April 4.
For one less game. is that right?
I'd love to be wrong, but I checked this at least five times during class to make sure I was reading correctly. Checks out to about $35 a game if you buy everything I listed, which was last season's price.
My bad, read the ticket wrong.
4 conference and two OOC. There were 8 home games last year.
I think he was referring to the 2010 season that the price was compared to in the OP.
2 less games this year?
Same price while trading ND OSU and Nebraska for MSU and Iowa and two fewer games. Blah.
honestly, for being the first to use "two fewer games" instead of "less".

No, I'm THAT GUY.
Sorry for the citizen's arrest sir.
It's just that bad grammar is something up with which I will not put.
Not bad. Get them while theyre hot.
Worth every penny
Really a terrible slate of home games next season.
Will you pay $200 so that you can tell your grandkids you saw every home game Denard Robinson played as a senior?
Jesus - I remember when it was $130 all in when I was in school. I guess with all of the renovations that isn't extreme price inflation.
Still - most schools COMP the tickets for their students. Just another part of the Michigan difference I suppose. Thank god I wasn't a student during RR's tenure... talk about highway robbery during one of the worst economic crises of our lifetime...
Although admittedly, I am thinking about trying to get someone to buy tickets on my behalf, since my ID is still good through 2015.
Due to the crappy home slate though, I'm actually more thinking of getting someone to buy me tickets to the Alabama game. $50 is a great price and the seats are good too. Either that or ND and/or Ohio would be pretty good pick-ups to (or maybe even Nebraska, as I hear Nebraska fans are pretty hospitable and it's a fun trip to go on).
Where will the Alabama seats be for students?
Read the fine print. For the Alabama game only, the student ticket will be picked up IN DALLAS. And as to where the tickets for this game will be, they'll be similar to the sugar bowl location. Behind the end zone in the lower bowl.
know if they check class schedules to determine if each student ticket holder is taking 9 credits (6 grad credits)? Im planning on taking 1 grad class this year which will not be enough according to the AD.
Does the AD enforce that? My ID is still good for 4 years

how does continuous enrollment allow that? also, if you talk to your department office, they might have some tricks up their sleeve.
When I was an incoming freshman in 1999 (Tom Brady senior season), tickets were $85.00...for the six-game season ($14.17/game). Inflation has not gone up THAT much in 13 years.
But tuition has increased by about that much. That's one of the AD's biggest expenses.
Seems pretty shitty compared to last year's package.... or the year before where they included the Big Chill because there werent the 'marquee' OSU/ ND games...
Damn you, Adam Smith,,, DAMN YOU...
I have a couple questions:
Do the student tickets normally sell out?
My son might be a freshman next year (silly kid is still waiting to hear from 3 other schools). If he enrolls by May 1st, will there still be tickets available for freshmen?
HALOL. A question about freshman student tickets in a thread about student tickets is moderated as "off topic". Interesting.
I bet he would still get them. They might not be great seats, but he can always move down if he gets there a bit early.
Even if he doesn't get season tickets, it's very easy to buy single game tickets off of other students on Facebook.

Seconded. I was trying to help my friend get tickets for the TSIO game this past fall, so I asked a friend (who is a student) to check it out. She went on Facebook, and had a ticket within the afternoon.
Yes, they reserve tickets for freshmen. Tickets never "sell out" for students. There's only a deadline. As long as you get tickets by the deadline (which is different for incoming freshmen), you will get tickets. They will have awful priority and thus be seated up in the top of the bowl, but will get tickets. They CANNOT get away tickest through the ticket office I believe though.
Yup. All freshman student tickets are sold at a completely different time during the summer. No need to worry about getting tickets at all.
yes, they're usually included as an option when you sign up for dorms and res food, etc.
if the lions home opener is the same weekend as the air force game,i'm going
but yes , this years home schedule is weak
student tix are still rockbottom cheap compared to the regular tix. plus, the student tix get better as u get more credits under your belt, so some lucky seniors are getting some pretty sweet tix (with lots of potential resale value).
I seem to recall season home tickets were $35 (total) back in 1973, my freshman year. We had to stand in line for two days to get them.
I transferred to Michigan this winter and I’m setting up my account now. I know student football tickets aren’t being sold yet, but are it normal to see this statement?
“Sorry, you currently have no applications available online. If you have not already activated your season ticket account using your account number and PIN, click on the link below.”
Because I have activated the account with my information.
It's normal to see this statement. On Wednesday the application should be live and you won't see that statement again. At least that's been my experience.
Okay, thank you. I just wanted to make sure everything goes smoothly when I do purchase the tickets
Basketball tickets up $50 from this past season.
Hope we can schedule a marquee non-conference game this season. That along with McGary and increased expectations probably makes the season ticket worth the money.
We have home in the B1G-ACC Challenge. That game is likely Duke or UNC. I would call that a marquee no-conference home game.
Right, forgot about that.
North Carolina was #1 in the ACC, played at home last year in the B1G-ACC Challenge.
Duke was 2, played on the road.
Florida State was 3, played on the road.
If they went by the standing they used for the BTT, we'd be second in the B1G. I would guess we get North Carolina at home. You never know though.
Anyone know how much they decreased the size of the student section for this year?
If I remember correctly, they were going to decrease the size due to students not showing up to games(and likely so they could sell more full price tix). If an increase in student ticket prices causes more people to show up for games(or force them to sell their ticket to someone who will actually use it) then this could be a positive consequence.
Anybody know anyone selling all theirs?
