BCS/Bowl Game Selection Shows Open Thread
It's early, but not sure when the site is going to be up or not, so while there's a window, I'm getting it in. If the hits crash it, could be a really short open thread. But discuss the Michigan Bowl (which will probably be known for sure before the show...if it's not already), and any othre bowl games on ESPN's coverage tonight, starting about an hour away. (By then the 504 errors will hopefully be done).

I would like a little Sugar on top of my 10-2 season please.

Brad Edwards says Michigan vs. Va Tech or Boise St.
Kansas St. and TCU have to be PISSED.
December 4th, 2011 at 7:17 PM ^
BEAT OHIO
December 4th, 2011 at 7:19 PM ^
so no issues there
December 4th, 2011 at 8:13 PM ^
it was Done and Dunn.
December 4th, 2011 at 7:19 PM ^
Kinda off topic...but who do you guys want to LOSE more, Ohio or Florida?
December 4th, 2011 at 7:20 PM ^
Ohio, always Ohio.
December 4th, 2011 at 7:22 PM ^
I want Ohio to lose always. I would love to have respect for the rivalry and want them strong every year, but dammit, their fanbase needs to learn some humility.
December 4th, 2011 at 7:27 PM ^
I hear you there but damn it would be funny if OSU curb stomped them just to shut the SEC the F up.
December 4th, 2011 at 7:39 PM ^
Yeah because they totally would care about that and forget the fact they're on a six BCS championship win streak
December 4th, 2011 at 7:41 PM ^
I'll take anything I can get right now. Our crap stinks less than your crap.
December 4th, 2011 at 7:43 PM ^
I doubt a crappy Ohio team beating a crappy Florida team this year will shut the SEC slappies up.
December 4th, 2011 at 7:48 PM ^
Agreed but if Nebraska takes South Carolina, Penn State knocks off A&M, and Sparty knocks off Georgia we would have somting to talk about.
December 4th, 2011 at 7:55 PM ^
IF my aunt had balls she would be my uncle

to talk about."
December 4th, 2011 at 8:16 PM ^
The SEC bs will never stop. Even when they lose.
December 4th, 2011 at 7:22 PM ^
After the BCS selection glow, I expect to chat about the other bowl match-ups as they're announced and discussed on the next program tonight.
To answer your question...OSU can have a losing record if they fail in the bowl game...plus a little pre-Meyer Florida revenge? Pretty easy. Though rooting for Florida isn't. But then, I managed to pretty easily in the 2007 bowl game after the 2006 season.
December 4th, 2011 at 7:27 PM ^
I dont have any problem with Florida this year, I like Will Muschamp. What do you have against them? JW
December 4th, 2011 at 7:28 PM ^
I just don't like the SEC, like at all. They are right up there with ohio to me.
December 4th, 2011 at 7:34 PM ^
I always want the Big Ten to win out of conference games. Look what that has done for the Big 12.
December 4th, 2011 at 7:19 PM ^
Hail!
December 4th, 2011 at 7:19 PM ^
I'm stocking up on extra insulin.

Where's the live blog at for this??
December 4th, 2011 at 7:22 PM ^
Delete this, sorry for double post
December 4th, 2011 at 7:20 PM ^
So no RG3 vs DXR?
December 4th, 2011 at 7:21 PM ^
So, PSU to TicketCity to play Houston, and Iowa to Insight to play Oklahoma. Also, Ohio vs. Florida in the hilarious irony bowl.

Yikes.
We didn't think the Big Ten was strong to begin with...and the match-ups are getting even more brutal than imagined. This could be a rough road for the B10. We might be the best chance for a victory, and that's no guarantee.
December 4th, 2011 at 8:03 PM ^
Nobody familiar with UM's bowl history since Jan. 1, 1970 should ever—EVER—figure a victory is guaranteed, regardless of who the opponent is. We've been snakebit in bowls more than any other program in college football since that day.
December 4th, 2011 at 7:24 PM ^
So how the hell does the ACC get a second bid? Guessing Tech took Houston's place.
December 4th, 2011 at 7:30 PM ^
Agreed. It's a joke.
TCU, Boise St., Kansas St all have arguments over Va Tech. The simple fact that it's the poor ACC is enough to make you laugh.
With that said, I'll take it. TCU and Boise worry me in one game situations with those two coaches. Va Tech, I just think they're overrated. And they come with the BCS AQ tag which is nice.
December 4th, 2011 at 8:32 PM ^
I'm sure everyone else is wondering how the Big Ten has two BCS teams after their worst year in forever.
December 4th, 2011 at 8:38 PM ^
I think you'll see that the B1G's second team in is better than the ACC's second team in by a very large margin.

December 4th, 2011 at 7:27 PM ^
I'm guessing TCU didn't move into the top 16...All of the teams that lost fell behind us but not behind TCU.

(Against a certain QB). Probably even less exciting for Sparty fans. Though I don't think they've been to the Outback, so at least there's that.
December 4th, 2011 at 7:47 PM ^
Count Gholston in!

Outback=Australian=populated by criminals=MSU football

I expect Georgia to manhandle MSU. They are big inside on both sides of the ball and are solid offensively. Despite my best efforts to root for the B1G, I find it increasingly difficult to root for OSU / MSU, and probably won't be in this match up either.

So this pretty much tells us that we have a rematch in the Championship Game, correct?
December 4th, 2011 at 7:33 PM ^
Any idea where the South Bend Slappies are headed?

Wow, I just got a 504 and a 503! This blog must be gettin' loaded right about now.
December 4th, 2011 at 7:34 PM ^
Well I have seen Boise and TCU as projections from ESPN. I would love team 132 to bloody that nose right there.
December 4th, 2011 at 7:36 PM ^
Michigan may very well be the only Big Ten team that wins a bowl game this year lol
