Crashing the Dance has them as the 7th team left out. Keep in mind that assumes a best case scenario with the auto qualifiers, so they're probably more like 9th or 10th out.
Lots of bubble-in teams sitting on only 1 top 50 RPI win. Michigan still has chance to make a move. I also notice that both EMU and NJIT are both in the top 200 RPI, so neither are the complete resume killers that we once thought.

Like I said, the advantage gained was likely minimal.
The difference between cheating and refs blowing calls should be obvious. Not sure what you're trying to prove.
I'll agree that this issue is totally overblown in the media, but that doesn't mean the Patriots should avoid any sort of punishment for cheating.
Edit - I just want to add, if there was no manipulation of their balls after the refs checked them pre-game, then this is just worthy of a tiny fine, and this is the most overblown "scandal" of all-time. The difference could be explained a poorly calibrated pressure gauge. If the Pats were sticking needles in them afterwords, then that's pretty damn shady and the NFL should hammer them.

The refs deserve scrutiny too, but the Patriots have been caught cheating. Again. They need to be punished, even if the advantage gained was minimal.

Lloyd Carr handed Chris Perry his transfer papers at some point during his career at Michigan. That makes Carr as bad as Saban's cutting of players, according to your logic.

Kieras rocks. I was an idiot and slept through my 280 final and he let me take it with the afternoon session. That might have been my only straight A in CS. Is he still teaching 280? He was old in 1998.

Unfortunately, his boss is probably patting him on the back for successfully trolling the Michigan fanbase.
I liked the paragraph he threw in there about how the Michigan fanbase is "dismayed" by Ohio States success. Uh, no. We're dismayed that our program has been horseshit for the last 7 years. OSU being successful is the norm.

The UM side has incentive to leak to let their fans know that they're taking a serious run at Harbaugh. Or it's been run by so many people at UM that leaking was inevitable.

The honeymoon would be over with a 7 win or less season next year. Unlike the situation RR inherited, the roster is decent, and we'll be paying him a zillion dollars. He will take a TON of heat if next season is not at least moderately successful.

Doyle vs Horford 2014 comparison:
Horford would clearly add some much needed depth and probably start, but he's not a difference maker. He's a poor offensive rebounder (9.5% vs 18.1% for Doyle), and turns the ball over a little more and is less efficient despite being a low usage player -- actually lower than Doyle (16.4% usage vs 21.1%).
Obviously, you have to take into account differences in systems, but looking at the stats, it doesn't look like Horford's made a huge leap by switching teams. His point and rebound totals are both up mostly because he's playing more minutes.

Tim and Nik were POYs. THJr is pretty darn close to an elite athlete - very effective in transition in the NBA. Caris and Irvin are very good, but not elite athletes. Like Nik and Trey, they need to be extremely productive this season to be 1st rounders.

So 14 points = 3 scores now? The game was tied in the 4th qtr and VT scored their last TD with less than a minute left. And the aforementioned Baylor team just eked out a victory against awful Texas Tech.
Not arguing that any Big Ten team should be in the 4 man playoff this year, just that I'd like to see one of them play in the darn thing. Usually the top team is good enough to make some noise, and allowing each Power 5 champ a spot gives the conference championships some real meaning.
|8 weeks 5 days ago||MSU didn't get blown out by||
MSU didn't get blown out by Oregon, and lets not pretend that the OSU excuses aren't legit.
My point being, I have confidence those teams would handle themselves about as well as any school not named Alabama. They could get beaten handily, but a lot of the other top teams could too.
|8 weeks 5 days ago||I'm not going to argue that||
I'm not going to argue that the B1G is a great conference, but OSU, UW and MSU can go toe to toe with anyone in the nation this year. They should go to an 8 or 16 team playoff and get representation from all the major conferences. The 4 game non-conference schedule tells us little about the relative strengths of each conference. For example, SEC schools rarely play outside of the south. LSU playing in Green Bay will be the first time a big time SEC school has played in the midwest in forever.
Top to bottom, the SEC is still clearly the best, but the gap is not as big as some people would believe, especially this year.
