Best time to buy tickets to the National Championship Game
First time creating a thread (so be nice lol) but hopefully the title explains it all.
Have read in a few threads talking about it a few weeks ago but just wanted to see everyone's opinions on when the biggest time to buy tickets. They are around $2K/ticket now 😳😳😳.

Hopefully after Texas loses. I'm sure many bought tickets hoping for a closeby game.

I would say, this season is the best time.

Theoretically, demand is probably about half of what it will be in a couple hours.

Or 1.5x?

Yeah, unfortunately I'm coming to the realization that I should have bought a ticket a while back. I'm definitely pulling for UW.

The strongest amongst us (or those on the west coast) will eagerly await the great longhorns fans unloading of 2024

If Texas loses, I'd think they're drop all week long.

Speaking as someone who has flights & hotel room booked and a rental car reserved but no game tickets (yet) I can say with utmost confidence that the worst time to buy tickets will be after Texas beats Washington.
The best will be sometime after Washington beats Texas.
Cross your fingers on the nightcap, I know I am.

Same question. I assume if Texas wins tonight the prices won't come down. That said it's hard to imagine them going much higher.

When you win the lottery

Good Luck with getting them for $2k, and they may not be together.
Michigan priority fans probably have already gobbled up Michigan's share of tickets a month ago, probably the same for the teams in the 2nd game.
That MAY leave 50% of the tickets up for grabs on the open market.
As usual, BIG TIME $$$$ will be involved from both schools for the remainder of the tickets available, especially if Michigan plays Texas.
You bigger problem may be getting a flight to Houston or a hotel room within an hour of Houston.
72,200 seating capacity.

If Texas wins there won’t be a good time to buy tickets. All flights from DTW to anywhere in TX are exorbitant. Our fans will be there in huge numbers.
January 1st, 2024 at 10:32 PM ^
My wife (who would never ever ask something like this) just asked me how much are tickets? I said shut up. Not happening.

Is one service better than the others for tickets? Ticketmaster, vivid, seat geek?
January 1st, 2024 at 10:36 PM ^
If Texas wins, tickets are going to be very expensive. I think the best time to buy is either tomorrow or at the last minute.
January 1st, 2024 at 10:37 PM ^
Feels like M is in, tickets won’t drop even if Texas loses. As someone who really wants to go, but can’t justify 2k a ticket - that’s disappointing

September. When I bought mine.

unless you bought one or two extra at the time
January 1st, 2024 at 10:42 PM ^
In a world where someone with an extra ticket sees this, I hope they email me at cdycus at umich dot edu… I have had my hotel & flight booked but didn’t have enough points for a ticket.

Speaking of buying, anyone know where to buy the Michigan hat with the rose? WD you still out there?
January 1st, 2024 at 10:56 PM ^
The ticket prices are killing me. I have 2 and am/was planning on going, but my husband thinks we should sell. So the prices are good, and bad, for me.
WE WON!! Hell yea!!
so overstimulated and have to be at the hospital in 6 hours. Eeeek

If you decide to sell the two, I would be very happy to buy them. My brother and I are flying in and looking for two together.

Anybody having luck buying parking passes?
January 1st, 2024 at 11:09 PM ^
I don't expect parking to be much of a concern -- although I'm sure they'll triple the price from a regular season Texans game. NRG is surrounded by parking lots.

$50. Yellow Lot.
January 2nd, 2024 at 10:38 AM ^
That's what I ended up getting as well, see you there!
January 1st, 2024 at 11:07 PM ^
You mean they're still available? lol
January 1st, 2024 at 11:17 PM ^
I don’t care, I will be in that stadium Monday night
January 1st, 2024 at 11:18 PM ^
Michigan athletic dept says our seats aren’t out until Thursday so would wait. Plus if Washington wins price plummets
January 1st, 2024 at 11:20 PM ^
If anyone has two together that at any point won’t be able to make it and wants to sell to a Michigan fan, my flight is already booked.

Already have a flight booked, have permission to switch my time for radiation, and have a plane ticket for my 78-year old dad to fly in from Tampa. If you're looking to get rid of 2 tickets to guaranteed Michigan fans (and season ticket holders), holla. jeandevries2 at gmail dot com.

I got mine in August. In reality is to travel and get tickets after the game starts. You're still going to be paying over a grand, it's the national championship.
January 2nd, 2024 at 12:23 AM ^
I hope the prices come down. Flights and hotel booked, but I’m thinking they come down a bit with the Texas loss. If anyone has tickets, I’m interested sldave84 @ gmail
January 2nd, 2024 at 12:26 AM ^
You will see a freefall immediately and into tomorrow. I'd bet they will be around 1000-1200 plus fees on stubhub by 10am. I think they will continue to slowly fall all week and will be 200-300 bucks by Monday afternoon.
January 2nd, 2024 at 1:06 AM ^
Prices just dropped about $1000 face value and $300 in fees, went from $3300 total to $1900. I grabbed one because I’m paranoid they will rise again, but looking like they may drop some with UT out.
January 2nd, 2024 at 1:35 AM ^
Yeah, the difference in prices is already stark. I'm going to wait a while longer, but suffice it to say that the Texas loss was good for Michigan in two ways: UW isn't as good of a team as Texas is, and they don't travel nearly as well.
It would have been 60/40 Texas fans. Now, it'll be 80/20 Michigan fans.

I am an alum based in Cleveland and am looking to attend the national championship next Monday in Houston. I am looking to charter a plane on Monday night following the game to get into Cleveland / Pittsburgh early Tuesday morning. In total, I am looking for the lowest price available, so am ok splitting with as many people as possible. I require 1 seat in total. If anyone is interested or has a contact for other people that may be, please let me know.

I am planning for a UM Wolverine bucket list trip and would like to buy 2 or 3 tickets.
I turn 71 on January 4th and will be traveling to Houston hoping to get tickets after trying through the Alumni Association. Any suggestions are greatly welcomed! GO BLUE!
