Pistons trade Livers to Wizards

Not to bring down the mood by talking about the terrible Pistons, but Woj reporting they just traded Livers and Marvin Bagley to the Wizards along with two 2nd rounders in return for Danilo Galinari and Mike Muscala.

Sad to see Livers go, and I wish I could say it was to greener pastures, but the Wizards are also terrible. Kinda funny to see a trade between two of the absolute worst teams though.

Looks like the deal is mainly a salary dump to get off the money we owed Bagley next year. Terrible signing by the Pistons.

For his part, Livers was having a pretty rough shooting year, hitting a career-worst 28.6% from 3.

Getting any sort of value (Gallinari expiring and cap space) out of moving Bagley off this roster should be viewed as a net positive.

Now, next easy logical steps say move out Wiseman and his wasted money ... try to lock down Beef Stew and Duren as your two bigs who rim run but don't stretch. Then look to stretch with bigs.

Joe Harris is about to come off the books, it'd be nice to get something for his expiring deal. And then it's time to get something out of Bojan. Probably a year late on that, but I don't know what they're being offered so won't be too critical.

I'll never forget the memories he gave me while playing at Michigan - but I'm gonna be honest. He was horrible on the Pistons. I hope his game comes back for the Wizards. But cool to see him back with Poole again!

Loved Livers as a Wolverine, but he's not really good enough for the NBA. At least now he's Washington's problem.

As for Troy Weaver, the man continues to astound. Sent Lyles and two seconds out for Bagley, signed him to a huge contract that no one else was offering, then packages two seconds in a desperate move to get rid of him.

On the bright side, Galiardi and Moscala's expiring contracts now give us $39M in cap space that I'm sure Troy will find a good use for.

Troy Weavers choices with Marvin Bagley have always confused me. Why did you trade for him when we had a logjam at the position. Why resign him to an over market contract… why does he still have a job?

I read this thread title and thought that, in a last-ditch effort to improve their team’s record, Detroit’s NBA basketball players will have their their largest solid body organs removed and sent to Hogwarts for rejuvenation.
