Couldn't have said it better…

Couldn't have said it better myself. Michigan arrogance needs to step aside once and a while.

What's the name of the…

What's the name of the Michigan football building?

The only answer.

The only answer.

I also heard Pinocchio is in play, but someone might be lying about that one.

Did the university take away his end of game planning ability as well?

Statistically Livers is the…

Statistically Livers is the worst defender in the NBA and near the bottom in offense. Glad to jettison him.

Is it too much to ask to get some tall sizes? Otherwise, cool shirts.

Any tall guys in here? Where do you get your apparel? I haven't really own any Michigan apparel since 90s before I became adult sized. I'm 6' 8" and 200lbs and can't seem to find anything that fits for more than one wash.

Agreed, the Michigan fanbase…

Agreed, the Michigan fanbase can be every bit as insufferable as they claim MSUs or OSUs to be.

Go Blue and Go Honolulu Blue!

Aren't you a joy. It's…

Aren't you a joy. It's interesting that you can't understand why I would read this article and make that comment. I read to find out the truth behind the ticket prices. That's how you learn. And it's ok to do said learning and not want to participate. I wasn't poo pooing on any either. In fact, I said I totally respect people who go to these games, but it isn't for me. My comment urged those with memorable game day experiences to chime in, which I guess is what I was looking for. An better understanding of why people pay to go to games.

But good job internet policing.

I said that is Harbaugh…

I said that if Harbaugh leaves I want Sherrone to be head coach so he will relinquish play calling duties because I was growing tired of bashing our heads against the wall and continuing to use Donovan incorrectly. I still kind of stand by it.

For the life of me, I'll…

For the life of me, I'll never understand why people pay these prices for generally not great seats, to fight the crowds, overpriced food and drinks, long commercial breaks with piped in music, and lack of commentary/replay from tv. I respect that people like the in-person atmosphere, I just can't wrap my head around it. I also never watch a game live, so I know I'm the weirdo.

It's glorious. But also…

It's glorious. But also reminds me of us in 2020, or us with the basketball team.

I'm interested in knowing…

I'm interested in knowing why there are so many journalists out there willing to risk integrity to smear Michigan, which seems to be a common talking point on this board right now. With the reach of this university, surely there has to be a few journalists who graduated from UM and are willing to lay out this story as we currently know it to be true, but has been done well on this message board. I'd like to hear why we don't see those pieces. Maybe they take longer to write because the story needs to unfold further?

People are the worst.

So sorry to hear. We lost…

So sorry to hear. We lost our dog to cancer and donated his body to cancer research. If you live in Michigan, this is a very realistic option. Talk to your vet. Maybe it'll help prevent another family from feeling your pain.

I don't need to read another comment this week. This one wins.

Dave Matthews Band is comprised of some of the most talented musicians. They are criminally underrated. You sir are wholly incorrect with your take.

A lot of monitoring is being…

A lot of monitoring is being used to fill in gaps in our understanding of which species are moving and when, as well as which species make specific calls. Right now, machine learning is taking the lead in automating so much of the work and is really helping move the field of migratory science forward.

There's a python based automatic detector called 'Nighthawk' that just launched from researchers at Cornell. Essentially, you can take your x hour nighttime recording and it'll detect and identify the birds that flew over. Of course, it's only as good as the data that's been fed to it so far. There are so many gaps in the map of training data that the developers are looking for people to submit their data, annotated or otherwise, to help fill in these gaps and make Nighthawk even better. The main developer is Benjamin Van Doren.

And of course, there's always eBird, which you've already referenced.

Happy to talk more if you're interested.

If you're ever interested, I…

If you're ever interested, I outline throughout the series how you can get involved monitoring.

Thank you!

Thank you!

Windows are absolutely a…

Windows are absolutely a problem for migrating birds. Especially windows in areas heavily lit by artifical lighting. Turning unneccessary lights off at night during peak migration can save millions. And switching to bird friendly glass or placing certain decals on windows.

I suppose our top 10 finishes more than makes up for losing this cup thing.

I want nothing associated with that person to succeed.

This is classic Michigan…

This is classic Michigan fandom. Don't worry about recently. Our history! Fact is, Alabama's program is in better shape than ours at the moment.

Can't disagree with this at…

Can't disagree with this at all. However, I will say evaluation sometimes fails. Or sometimes people aren't good at evaluating. I think to really understand how good someone is at evaluating might involve looking at a player's WAR (or whatever metric you like) against the average WAR of a similar player drafted around the same time in the draft. If Weaver's player are routinely higher, then maybe he's pretty good. If it's the opposite, then maybe not. Then of course you have injuries and personal stuff that are variables that aren't hard to control for and near impossible to predict at times.

Honestly, I was thinking…

Honestly, I was thinking about this last night and the answers are complicated and simple. First of all, this team doesn't have any amazing assets. People want awesome trades to happen, but we have no proven assets, outside of maybe Stew and Burks. Cade, Ivey, Duren, and to an extent Livers are largely unproven. They have potential, but who knows.

I think if you get a chance to draft Scoot, then Weaver jumps at it. We don't really have a true point guard and that is where every great team begins and ends. Cade needs to mostly not be a primary ball handler. It's unclear to me what their vision of for Ivey is. Right now, his stats compared to R. Westbrook at the same point in his career are scarily similar. He could become that, but ???

Our bigs stink for the modern NBA. None can really shoot, except for Stew, and he's very undersized and he has a hard time guarding agile bigs. Duren might develop, but ???

Again, this team is sorely lacking proven talent. Bey had reached a point where we kind of know what he'll be. And the big X factor is Weaver's vision. Maybe Bey just didn't fit it. Actually, it's likely he didn't fit it. Hopefully we get to see what that vision is, but it's going to take time. This rebuild is early and will be extended.

Aside for his turnstile…

Aside for his turnstile version of defense, the dude steps out of bounds at what feels like disproportionate rate among players of his type. I'm happy he's no longer in a Pistons uniform if just to get that particular turnover off the team.

That's the first thing I thought of trying, but turning it off has no impact on this particular app.

This is the wrong take.

This is the wrong take.

You clearly don't understand…

You clearly don't understand the game as it pertains to big men. There's a lot to develop still. His footwork and thus any post moves. His hustle and rebounding position. Defensive challenges. And finally, his body. He is soft. I guess he gets to skip Camp Sanderson.

Hunter is uninspired by coach. He just is. Howard is failing him.

This is the only correct…

This is the only correct take. The Mo apologists and killian ended a life takes miss the point. I expect Killian to be the only one suspended and not more than 5 games.

As far as Hamidou, everyone pushes in the NBA. It happens all the time. I doubt he gets suspended more than a game, if that.

The maize and blue outrage on here is ridiculous at times.

This team, as currently…

This team, as currently playing, will be lucky to flirt with the bubble. Not saying they aren't more capable, but man they are a mess currently.

You know, that's a solid…

You know, that's a solid response. I can't argue with most of what you've laid out. Kudos.

I do argue that he can develop a power dribble move and a strong up and under or series of head fakes built on great footwork. His greatest strength is that he's just bigger than most and he relies on it too much when he could couple that with some better moves. He all too often settles for a good shot instead of seeking a great shot. His field goal percentage and points per game adjusted for usage rate support this.

I'd be interested to hear…

I'd be interested to hear what his post moves are that he's developed.

I'm especially referring to his inability to catch the ball away from the basket, make one dribble towards the basket and finish strong at the basket. He all too often settles for a worse shot instead of getting into position for a better shot. He's almost incapable of losing his defender if he isn't completely bigger than him.

Yes, some of this is his limited athleticism, but a lot of this can be taught and isn't being taught.
