How we get in if Georgia wins
If Georgia wins we can still get in as long as TCU doesn't make it into the top 16. They are currently 18th right now. We need Baylor to win and stay ahead of TCU, and OK State loss would keep them and Oklahoma ahead of TCU. A Clemson win could jump them over TCU.
I am not sure if the B1G Champ loser will fall below TCU, but I dont think Houston will fall past TCU. This happening would keep TCU out of the top 16 and we would move up to 14th ahead of Houston and the BIG Champ loser. We would then probably get the only at-large bid into the BCS.

wow. ok. as bad as LSU's offense is, how do you not get that guy some plays on offense a la chuck woodsen?

If we don't want Georgia to win, and Georgia doesn't want to win, how is Georgia going to win?
December 3rd, 2011 at 6:46 PM ^
Michigan would go 17-0 if we were in that garbage conference.

Honey Badger takes offense to the notion of Georgia winning this game.

Is making this thread totally pointless

GA's offensive coordinator reminds me of when Borges gets bombs away happy.
December 3rd, 2011 at 7:08 PM ^
Georgia's defense reminds of me when we used to have a tackling-phobia
December 3rd, 2011 at 7:10 PM ^
Totally agree on that point. Good God that's some bad tackling.

Anyone have any idea of who is more reliable? Brad Edwards or Jerry Palm? Edwards is spouting off on ESPN radio that he doesn't foresee UM craking the top 14.

Not sure, just read a tweet about what he said on ESPN radio.

I think it's safe to assume Georgia falls below us.
December 3rd, 2011 at 7:10 PM ^
Is Baylor going to jump us?
December 3rd, 2011 at 7:12 PM ^
They better not. They have 3 losses to our 2. And one of their losses was a 55-28 ass kicking from a 6 loss Texas A&M team.
December 3rd, 2011 at 7:23 PM ^
Play this year?
December 3rd, 2011 at 7:18 PM ^
Certainly possible. They put on a show for the human voters, and the computers already like them. We had a decent lead on them, but I could see them overtaking us.
December 3rd, 2011 at 7:13 PM ^
Brad Edwards seems convinced Baylor will pass us. That's why Edwards feels Michigan will not get a BCS game. He might be right. Texas turned the ball over 6 times today, but voters will only notice the final score of the Baylor/Texas game.
December 3rd, 2011 at 7:17 PM ^
if it happens we would once again be penalized for finishing our season too early. It killed us in 2006 and would be ridiculous if happened this year. No way a 3 loss Baylor should jump us in the polls but I don't have much faith in the voters. They could easily see Baylor with a big win over Texas and think "Hey they won this week, I need to move them up..." without any thought to their overall resume.
December 3rd, 2011 at 7:18 PM ^
Will the voters notice that Texas is 7-5?
December 3rd, 2011 at 7:14 PM ^
Mingo and Montgomery, imagine them on GMATS D.
December 3rd, 2011 at 7:39 PM ^
I don't know about them on GMATS D but when I first read this for some reason I imagined what their score would be on the GMAT and what I imagined wasn't very good.
December 3rd, 2011 at 7:14 PM ^
I dont think Baylor will pass Michigan in the human polls, it's the computer polls that present the problem. Baylor will be so strong in the computer polls that they may pass Michigan in the total BCS scoring.
December 3rd, 2011 at 7:22 PM ^
the problem is the bcs human score is determined by number of votes, not actual ranking. Baylor is sure to gain some votes with that domination. combined with their massive computer edge, it will probably be enough for baylor to pass michigan
December 3rd, 2011 at 7:18 PM ^
Andy Staples said Houston will fall behind Michigan...just fyi.
December 3rd, 2011 at 7:21 PM ^
Small fan base, little interest nationally for the team save for Griffin. Their selection as a three loss over a two loss UM team would basically end the BCS. I don't think anyone can justify Baylor over UM. Not with UM having a better record, a QB as explosive as Griffin, a better overall team, and far more tradition and fans. The money lost with a selection of Baylor due to the asinine computers almost guarantees a dramatic change in the formula. Bowls are businesses. They want the most intriguing matchups. Baylor is not as interesting as Michigan is.
December 3rd, 2011 at 7:24 PM ^
Baylor isn't making a BCS game. but them jumping michigan could keep michigan from breaking the top 14.
December 3rd, 2011 at 7:24 PM ^
December 3rd, 2011 at 7:25 PM ^
Baylor is not going to a BCS bowl game. They can pass us in the rankings nad even be in the top 14, but they are not getting a BCS bid.

this crap only happens to michigan; 2006. and worse yet in the AP poll in 1997-98, where we were the first team to ever drop after WINNING its bowl game.
December 3rd, 2011 at 7:28 PM ^
December 3rd, 2011 at 7:32 PM ^
getting jumped in the polls w/o losing.
December 3rd, 2011 at 7:37 PM ^
December 3rd, 2011 at 7:40 PM ^
it depends on the situation. we dropped in 2006 after not playing. why vote UM #2 in the 2nd to last week, if you didn't think they were the #2 team.
in 97-98 we dropped after winning the rose bowl. both were BS.
December 3rd, 2011 at 7:27 PM ^
The computer Big12 bias is making this far more nervewracking than it actually should be..
December 3rd, 2011 at 7:38 PM ^
Big Ten. I do not understand why the rankings are so generous to what is a very mediocre conference. I think the computers need to be reprogrammed.
December 3rd, 2011 at 8:23 PM ^
Massey and Sagarin. They both have:
Okla State 3
Kansas State 5
Oklahoma 6
Baylor 7
And they have the highest ranking of the 6 computer polls for Texas (13/15 vs. 16/17/22/28).
In the middle there is Arkansas at 4, a former Southwest Conference member...smells fishy to me (or given the location of these schools, smells like BS).
December 3rd, 2011 at 7:58 PM ^
After the first half I was thinking that we might have a decent chance if we played LSU. Mattison could shut them down and Denard is liable to go off on anyone. After this second ... ehhhh not so much.
December 3rd, 2011 at 8:16 PM ^
If the human voters are going to jack up a 3 loss Baylor team then they should certainly jack down, way down a Houston team that had a weak schedule. I wold be very surprised if we are not at least 14 in the final BCS polls. But we'll see!
December 3rd, 2011 at 10:10 PM ^
Fingers crossed for OKST to continue this bombing of OU, and jump Alabama. Also for M to get into the top 14 so we can go BCS dancing.
