I'm not sure what you're

I'm not sure what you're talking about with respect to playing soft and playing not to lose. That happened in the Penn State game but not really other games. This one was more lost because of crippling offensive incompetence.

Sort of. Unlike Weis, Hoke

Sort of. Unlike Weis, Hoke isn't a collossal asshole. Not sure who remembers Weis as a coach who "said all of the right things" but your memory is pretty bad. Also, defense has been consistently good under Hoke. The O-line and especially the number of negative plays reminds me a lot of Weis 2007 though.

Totally not thread worthy,

Totally not thread worthy, but since this is the Gorgeous Borges appreciation thread I have the right to thread-jack. I found this awesome headline:

In other news-worthy information: Navy, Notre Dame, BYU Among Teams Not In Conferences.

Iowa is good for one

Iowa is good for one inexplicable win a year. Unfortunately, they already had that win, at MSU. So I'm going to say no.

No Florida 'freude? Why talk

No Florida 'freude? Why talk about Auburn and Arkansas over a team that actually had false hope.

False hope is worse than death.

Taylor is wrong. When the guy

Taylor is wrong. When the guy in front of you goes down, you have to meet the expectation for the position. The expectation at Michigan is that as a quarterback, you'll take care of the football. Bellomy wasn't ready to do that, and he's accountable to that standard of Michigan football. He deserves criticism for his performance.

Al Borges had a sound game

Al Borges had a sound game plan against Alabama, and it wasn't conservative. We just didn't have the quarterback or the receivers to win in one-on-one man coverage against Alabama's DB's. So far, no one has. Not a single team has put more than fourteen up on Bama since FCS Georgia Southern a year ago.

Al's gameplan against ND was insanely aggressive. Michigan punted once in the entire game. His plan was to try to pick on a young Notre Dame secondary. It didn't work, probably wasn't very smart, so he adjusted to a Denard-based running game in the second half. We call that gameplan the whole game, Michigan probably wins.

Against Michigan State, Al Borges' game plan WAS play not to lose, and he admitted as much. When you're going up against an offense as inept and a defense as great as MSU's, that gameplan actually makes sense. Also, we happened to win that game, putting up 50 yards of offense and five points less than all-world spread guru Urban Meyer.

The Nebraska game, well, I don't know. Before Denard went out, it was almost the end of the first half. We were inside the ten, we had three points against a team that had performed badly on defense against nearly everyone on their schedule. That's pretty damning right there, but I'll await the UFR to see what was going on.

As a side note, who are the

As a side note, who are the hottest pro-style coordinators in college football right now? Say that we were to replace Borges with another pro-style coordinator, who are the top guys in college football right now? Who would you like to see?

Not wild about the future

Not wild about the future after tonight. Without Denard, we have no offense.

RDT! RDT! RDT!

RDT! RDT! RDT!

Why has our offense

Why has our offense regressed? We lost David Molk, Junior Hemingway, Mark Huyge, and Martavious Odoms (who didn't even play most of the season) and that's it. Before this game, I wasn't sure if the offense had regressed, but it's undeniable. Alabama, Notre Dame and MSU are elite defenses. But to only put 6 points up on Nebraska at the half is shameful. Even winless Southern Miss managed 20 against them.

What happened to us? I mean, what happened to us in the first half, before Denard got injured?

Unfortunately, we don't seem

Unfortunately, we don't seem to have a passing game.

Help me Shane Morris, you're

Help me Shane Morris, you're my only hope.

First of all, we are

First of all, we are expecting to win, because the expectation is to win the Big Ten Championship because this is Michigan fergodsakes and winning this game puts us there. We don't have a small window to beat Nebraska, but we do have a small window when winning the Big Ten will be as easy as it is now.

Second of all, last year's OSU game's Desperate Need To Win Level was 11.

The Notre Dame game wasn't nearly as important as this one. We could lose that game and still Win The Damn League. Not sure about this one.

Calling Northwestern a 'road'

Calling Northwestern a 'road' win is a little generous, given that Northwestern had to go to a silent count in their own stadium. Y'all travel extremely well.
