Will Hagerup suspended four games, Terrence Robinson one.
I'm sure that a one-year suspension feels like a punishment for a 21-year-old (or whatever) kid.
I gave you +1 for your point and even though I disagree with it, I can understand why you have it.
Wasn't Gibbons a punter in High school?
I remember him looking really bad as a punter before the 2010 spring game.

Wasn't Gibbons also an FG kicker in high school?

would you really feel comfortable giving gibbons any type of responsibility?
kicking and punting is equivalent to teeball and soft toss. if you can't do the first, you probably can't do the second either
I've become very worried about special teams again. Hagerup needs to straighten up, or we need to get a new punter.
This just means we score every time!!!
Srsly, I hope Wilie can kick.
Is the Wilie deal possibly a carry over from last season????

Wile's highlight video includes some nice punts, so not all hope is lost quite yet.
According to Ace, Wile was averaging 42 yds/punt last year. He'll likely step in.

Let's just hope that this is the worst news we get prior to the start of the season.
If it is, I'll consider us very lucky.
I am disappointed in both, especially Hagerup, but if these suspensions have a big impact then we have bigger issues with the team. Except for Notre Dame where will need every advantage we can get, I really don't see how missing a punter, albeit a very promising one, should make a big impact over that span. We should be able to pull out wins against our other oppenents during that strech with even just a decent punter. And with the three weeks our other options have to prepare, I think we'll be OK.
It's letting your team down, and for Will it's the second time.
Is everything.

Has a punter ever got in this much trouble...jeez, he got suspended last year too.
Denard will punt, and if it's not out of bounds, he'll beat the ball down the field forcing the fair catch, or he'll down it himself inside the 1.
Here are some of Matt Wile's stats:
Senior Year - Made 10-of-13 field goals with a long of 49 yards and also had 91 of his 101 kickoffs go for touchbacks during his senior season ... punted six times for an average of 41 yards and pinned the East team inside their own 20-yard line twice during the U.S. Army All-American Game ...
Junior Year - converted 9-of-12 field goals with a long of 48 yards as a junior ... averaged a touchback on 89.9 percent of his kickoffs junior year
Punting in Senior Year
Punts - 40
Average - 36.18 yds
Longest - 54 yds
Punts inside opp. 20 - 13
I haven't looked at any of his senior year tape but loved that in his junior year he was able to at least a couple of times put kickoffs through the uprights. With this kind of talent and the coaching he's getting here, I'll trust his punting until I see a reason not to.
What's interesting is that he changed his place kicking game up his senior year and started kicking without a block to get ready for college.....as you can see, it didn't affect him adversly.
Good movwe by Hoke. This gives Denard a homerun threat, and someone he's cofortable throwing to. Good transition for the WRs with Stonum staying and having Stokes also play.
Pretty disappointed about Will though. What rules could he have violated for a 4 game suspension?

My guess is he was smoking some wacky tobaccy but who knows.
Notre Dame 0 Games
Michigan 13 Games
Any questions?
out of town. Getting his ass suspended for the OSU game was bad enough; he's obviously learned nothing since then.
Next.
Agreed. Obviously not a Michigan Man.

I swear at hate the phrase Michigan Man more than anything.

Easy there cowboy, the kid is 19. I'm ticked too but let's not give up on the kid quite yet.
is a punter doing to get booted for a few games with such an "awesome" kicking game? C'mon guys, this isn't MSU or that school down south. No better example to understand what THE TEAM...THE TEAM...THE TEAM means.
When even one guys screws up it hurts the WHOLE team.
Is this Hagerup thing unrelated to whatever he did last year?
