IT'S HERE: Countdown to Kickoff, Day 30

It's back. Huzzah.
EDIT: MGoBlue.com is having technical difficulties, but Boyz n da Pahokee has been kind enought to embed a Youtube version. Enjoy.
Hoke must have pointed at the camera...
Maybe Hoke realized it he might destroy the website (and for that matter the internet as we know it) if he continued to point at it. Thus he resumed his pointing at the state of Ohio, stealing their recruits and causing catastrophes for their university.
putting the HOKE in Pahokee*. Thanks for the embed...
*(came up with that all by myself, ha)
Thank you sir!
Two things, and I know all of those clips were spring ball clips. Love the burst by Vinny Smith and also liked what I saw from Barnum.
I like the part about sound fundamentals and knocking guys off the ball being more important than schemes. I can't wait to see it on the field. Go Blue.
I am sure they will sort out their technical difficulties in a timely manner.
Working now. Woo for Chrome + Mac support
But I just feel like the DLine's gonna be night and day different than last year. Just worried about the linebacker play...
IF the D-Line does a much better job of breaking off of blocks, causing some havoc, it will also improve the Linebacker play. The D-Line can free them up to make better plays.
And Demens will be starting on Opening Day, so our LB play should be consistently better on Opening Day. (Although didn't we hold BCS participant Connecticut* to something like 10 points last year? Need to look at the UFR from that game to see how the LB's played...although it's well-documented how they stunk it up later in the year).
*I completely realize UConn was not a great team last year. But they did participate in a BCS game...you cannot deny that fact.

While you're right that we held UConn to 10 points, I remember looking up at the scoreboard after the game and seeing that they got 343 total yards and was worried about our D for the year.
Calling them a BCS participant overstates the quality of their team, especially their offense. They had the 86th best offense , making them one of the worst offenses we faced all year.
...as I am about DBs, particularly safeties.
All in all, I think if the D can simply make the offense earn its yards and points and make the opposing OCs have to be smart to find those yards and points then we will take a big step defensively.
I also worry about the offense taking time to adjust to new decision-making in the early part of the season. We may get off to a slow start, and I hope this team's confidence isn't shaky, and perhaps used to losing to good teams.
It's finally here!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Can't wait for the Fred Jackson interview
It'll be like Frost/Nixon crossed with Couric/Palin and the Interview with the Vampire. But more in-depth.
Awesome video. I am eagerly anticipating the return of smashmouth football and many Big Ten championships over the next several years!
Anyone else notice Cam Gordon's all white uni at 2:20? My opinion is that it looks pretty sharp. I know these practice pants were just concepts and adidas only produced white ones, but I think we should give it a shot one day.

I don't know, the Big Ten network had an old Michigan game on with all white unis, and I was not impressed.
They weren't the most modern looking if you know what I mean. Also, stripeless white pants are better looking than the striped ones they had back in the day.
I feel like a junkie getting his fix
My daughter recently accused me of being addicted to MGoBlog. I told her that was ridiculous -- it's akin to accusing a crackhead of being addicted to his neighborhood dealer.
You can see him at 1:04. Maybe 265? I don't know if there were any updates on his weight gain and I thought the listed roster weights haven't been updated since last year (his list weight is 251).
But this was spring practice, so who knows where he is now.
Since we're on the topic of watching videos to pass time till football season I thought I'd post this hype video I just made overnight here:
that deep ball Denard threw in the Iowa game was sick. Hope to see a lot more of that this year. If we get an over the top game with this running game, look out.

Agreed, he's gonna get more chance to show off his touch this year.
BTW, here's the embedded video.

Forcier
That's a good video! I really like the black and white footage where only the maize is highlighted. Good stuff! Go Blue!!!
Awesome video. Also, the video feed is back up for the scoreboard! It looks great looks like it is really close to being done.
I assume the video of practice is from spring, so we can't really even scour it for the "so and so looks like he bulked up"
Great video. I just can't get enough.
this is TREMENDOUS news!

Big Will Cambell looked good in the brief time he got on screen, hopefully those brief shits are representative of a larger improvement.
August 4th, 2011 at 10:44 AM ^
Supposedly Big Will is down 17-18 pounds from spring practice. It seems like he is really putting the work in this offseason.

I don't think time spent on the throne is a legitimate way of judging our defensive linemen...

Cant wait for the season to start! 30 days!
August 4th, 2011 at 10:50 AM ^
Every year I tell myself I won't watch this homer-iffic creampuff of a series, but every august I become so desperate for football, I give in.

So great to see the countdown! I have missed those. PaperEater, anytime you thread jack with a hype video like it will be much appreciated. Great Vid!

we have a football coach.
Would you say he gets it?
But it kills me to see the lettering in Glick so off color. Am I the only one that notices this?
For reference look at the maze on Hokes shirt compared to the field in the background.
Could just be the lighting.
