Latest Tate Rumor: Hawaii
Tate has apparently contacted Hawaii about wanting to play there. Part of me thinks this would be great for him - very laid back atmosphere and less media pressure from a football standpoint. Plus a great system that could allow him to thrive.
Of course, with Hawaii comes multiple distractions and distance from home (a key factor he focused on when looking for a new school).
Again, wish Tate all the best. This may actually be a great destination for him.

The kid needs a support network.
Disagree. From what I know, he needs to get as far away from his support network (and the spotlight) as possible. Hawaii is a weird place that might be perfect for him.
it seems like it might actually be a good system for tate too. Hawaii seems to use smaller, quicker QBs who might not have tremendous arm strength but can the zip the ball in when needed.
He got away from his support network when he came here did he not? and his parents still helicopterd around A2.
Maybe he can change his name and phone number...
did the Forcier's really rent out a helicopter to get around Ann Arbor while they were on visits here?
If so, that just explained Tate Forcier.
I really hope Tate finds a place to be happy and successful at, but jeez, he keeps looking at all these far away places that can provide a ton of distractions.
I truely wonder if he will ever play college football again. Too bad, because I loved watching him play.
If they can turn a pizza delivery boy walkon into a gun slinging dual threat, then I think he can succeed there. Lacks the requisite hair, however.
Has Tate shown enough Poi to succeed at Hawaii?
He'll go by Tatei Forcieuna.
I'd play for Hawaii. Hell I'd pay to play there
Hell, I'd pay just to visit Hawaii.
I think they call that a vacation..
Yes, thanks.
That's something you say after someone clearly doesn't understand a joke.
Tell me more about this 'vay-cay-shun,' and how I can procure one for myself.
....as good as any...I wouldn't mind seeing a familar face for those 11:30 (eastern) kickoffs on ESPN 8. Im assuming, like most of us, he will learn from his past and he won't make the same stupid decisions. I can see him thriving on the field
The Ocho after watching what had to be one of the most poorly officiated dodgeball championship games ever. F*@$#!&% Chuck Norris.
will probably find the rest of them to be trivial. I'd love to see him settle down and find some success somewhere.
nothing promotes maturity, discipline, and personal introspection like Waikiki Beach!
from a vacation in Hawaii and stayed at the Hilton in Wakiki. I dont know how anyone gets anything done around that place school, work, sports, etc. Talk about distractions.
I went to Wakiki for 4 days and to Poipu Kauai at the Grand Hyatt. I can honestly say I have never been anywhere like it. This place is absolutely amazing. The pool is a lazy river and then they have a separate salt water pool. Then a short stroll away is the ocean with some of the most amazing waves I have ever seen. I strongly recommend this hotel. It is worth every penny. Also you can drive to Princeville from there in a short time and take a tour of the Nepali coast. It was by far the most beautiful place I have ever seen and there isn't even a close second other than my first time walking into the Big House. Here are a few pics:
mo betta.
yeah, sure, you were looking at the waves ...
Good fit for Tate's game. Nice tropical location will without a doubt provide for a cool atmosphere as well.
Tate has jumped the shark and is now entering douchedom.
MAUI WOWIE
As a moderately recruited high school basketball player in the mid-90's, I always had these dreams at night that Hawaii was bringing me in on a full ride. They never contacted me, of course, nor did any school outside the state of Michigan.
Best part is, I'm damn near 35 years old, and I STILL have the occassional dream that I'm on a full ride hoops scholarship at Hawaii. WTF?
They would have recruited you if you were the Flying Samoan
While there aren't many murders on the islands there is plenty of crime and substance abuse. Good luck, kid.
B,b mglghb I poop Oo
I saw that they quoted you regarding the Luke Fickell presser over on the ESPN Big Ten blog - congrats . . . .

Halfway down the stairs
Is a stair where I sit.
There isn't any other stair quite like it.
I'm not at the bottom i'm not at the top.
So this is the stair where i always stop.
Halfway up the stairs isn't up isn't down.
It isn't in the nursery, it isn't in the town.
And all sorts of funny thoughts run round my head.
It isn't really anywhere!
It's somewhere else instead!
Hope Tate doesn't get into trouble or he'll have to deal with the Dog...GIT EM LEYLAND!!!
Tate will figure things out himself. I wish him well, but I really couldn't care less where he ends up.
It will be funny to watch him throw so much his arm will fall off
Go to USD instead. Great coach. Good school. Good football program. Close to home and the support.
Forcier could probably put up some great numbers at Hawaii. With the exception of one or two teams, the caliber of athletes Hawaii routinely face are one notch below what he normally faced in the Big Ten.
Tate Forcier isn't going to "grow up" no matter where he goes, at least in the manner in which his critics would rather see. When you look at the family website and history, they all have a history of moving from school to school, and even junior team to junior team, in search of what they feel to be their best opportunity. While many of us may see the Forciers as basket cases, they appear to see themselves as people who are adaptable and mobile enough to get out of no-win situations.
For better or worse, Tate Forcier is highly unlikely to go against his family/support system just because fans and/or writers think he is "immature." I think Hawaii would be a great situation for him. He would get on national TV a little bit, and the system suits him. I hope he puts up big numbers, keeps the concussions to a minimum, and goes on to lead a thriving family business in the field of sport development.
And if he maintains a big ego to go with his short stature, he certainly won't be the first person to ever do so. And he won't be the first QB with a big ego, either.
I hear the Buds there are phenomenal. I'm sure he'll have all of his maturity issues taken care of before he gets there of course.
Wait. I thought Tate was determined to attend a school close to his family. Hmm. Could it be that Tate's word is not reliable? This sounds right up there with his "I've finally turned it around academically" speech a day before he was suspended for academic reasons.
He may not be out of the spotlight as much as you think. People love football here. The teaser on the FRONT page of the paper edition takes up the top 1/4 with a large photo of Tate passing in a Michigan home game. The story takes the whole bottom 1/3 of the front page of the sports section.
It is very easy to be distracted here. It takes a lot of self discipline to hit the books. Ann Arbor weather during the school year is much more conducive to staying home and studying. I do not know that this would be a good fit for someone with academic issues. The only positive for him is that UH is not as rigorous as UM.
Does the article discuss his academic standing with either the School or the NCAA and how it affects his future eligeblility ?
I wish him well...not everyone can find their stride at the same time. Good Luck.
Just one more reason to root for Hawaii. Best wishes, Tate.
I'm beginning to doubt that this kid will ever play college football again. It's a shame, because he has so much potential.
The urge to BE Magnum is a major distraction when you go there......
