Stephen Herron Jr. 4* 2019 WDE :(
trending in the wrong direction... cb's in for Stanford from Trieu, Wiltfong and Ace.
Couldnt help but think when Sam was going on and on about how well the 2019 class was starting off that we just saw this happen in 2018 with Otis and Emil Ekiyor... not meant to be taken as a "sky is falling" tread, just as a reminder that "off to a good start" 12 months out is kind of a ridiculous statement when it comes to recruiting.

I don't know how anyone can look at recruiting trends and not think there is structural problem with the Michigan staff. There is a reason the staff turned over recruiting responsibilities and its because they have dropped the ball for the past 18 months.

Maybe this wouldn't be happening if we had a stellar 9-5 record like Stanford. 8-5 just won't cut it. Sky is falling.

That Harbaugh literally built is really fucking annoying.

I don't blame anyone for choosing OSU, Alabama, Clemson or UGa over Michigan right now. All of those programs are lightyears ahead of Michigan right now.
Sure, I hate losing a kid to OSU. But I don't blame him for going.

Good on field performence and we'll be fine, season like last year, and we'll recruit like last year....

already been pointed out earlier in the thread but if these guys didnt have a cyrstal ball in for him to Michigan before he committed then it would make sense for them to put a crystal ball in now for another team. Especially after the comments he made last week.
Win on the field this class will be great.

It was known that Stephen Herron was looking at taking other visits (he stated so publicly). I would be more concerned if this was Chris Hinton. If Michigan wins most of their big games next season, that should squash this negative recruiting trend. Michigan will have a big shot early in the season when they play Notre Dame. That is an extremely important game from the recruiting perspective - much more is on the line that just a W/L.

you Corky, the narrative will not change until we start winning. I am expecting to start seeing the changes we need to see in the spring game. Shea moving the ball with our offense showing some creativity should go along way in to changing the perception a bit. Also believe that Harbaugh is going to be a different coach this year. Change was needed and change is coming. Go Blue!!!

Loved his tape. Love the monster lines Mattison has given us.
Plus my heart is fragile after Emil and Otis.

what he had last year and I am sure he was afraid of losing such a young team. You can't be a big d#$k when dealing with so many new fresh faces. I think we will see a much more determined coach this year. It should start with spring practices. Can't wait to hear about it to be honest. Go Blue!!!

I agree with your point, but the fire from him on the sidelines directed as officiating or plays of the game etc was gone. I don't know if the OSU game broke him, but from a players perspective, what could be more inspiring than to see your coach adamantely fired up on the sideline over some call.

I agree with Kenpoj. Harbaugh knew he had a young team. He knew that they had to be patient. No doubt his father is guiding him a bit on this point as well. While Michigan's players seemed remarkably mature last year for all their inexperience, young players have a tendency to get too high and too low. No sense for a coach to add to those emotional extremes.
I suspect he will take something out of Bo's motivational playbook: true or not, for the Ohio State game (in '69?) Bo told the team that every day all season long in practice, he didn't mention at the time, but they did some drill, something to specifically prepare them for Ohio State. Would really love to see something like that this year.

Sarcasm. I want a coach who makes a sound game plan, can adapt on the fly, and had fire in his belly. Where did that guy go???
