30,000 new cases today in Florida.  40,000 in NY.  21,000 in Illinois.16,000 in Ohio.

We just have to hope that a ton of these cases are breakthrough cases in vaccinated people and will end up being mild.  If the hospitalization rate is anything close to the rate it was with the Delta wave this summer, hospitals will be overwhelmed.

I hope you do in fact get your flight. I’ve gotta go to Tallahassee on Monday and my office informed me I have 2 options. Drive or pray that the only flight  (that’s not 12 hrs) actually takes off. That flight btw is $$600 as opposed to years past being less than half that.

This thing was going to be played at Petco Park and was set to have some of the worst sight lines in bowl history. For what they were charging I'm not sure there were a lot of people planning on going.

Man, I wish I had the lead in my Bowl pool & they canceled half the remaining games! Hard to catch up if they don't play the games!

I had NC St -2.5 for the record

I just don't have a great feeling about getting Friday without significant covid losses. Hopefully the guys are having fun far, far away from any crowds.

I saw Cade’s MGoBlue interview clip with Kengerski earlier today and he said there’s less of a focus on exploring the sites and doing events with the opposing due to Covid that are typically done in previous bowls. I hope the guys are having fun but if they’re all business to win a championship, I won’t complain.

While it isn't near to the status and accomplishment of what the team did this year, during my professional life, I was asked to accompany a well-known Chicago chef to Maui to make three days of desserts for a food magazine event. This was in the late 90's. I didn't see the light of day until after the last meal was served. It was a business trip and I spent 16 hours a day in the kitchen. Then I spent two hours on the beach, then home. I would've liked to see Maui but I wanted to make the desserts more. Humble brag or maybe just brag: Dan Marino was at the event and ate one of my desserts. I saw him after the event and man, his legs were just like crooked sticks. I guess that's what happens when you play however many years of pro football.

I remember the Holiday Bowl from 1984 when the weakest national championship team ever behind fake limping Robbie Bosco managed a come from behind win against a 6-6 Michigan team quarterbacked by the legendary Chris Zurbrugg.

Still bitter.

People need to chill out and just go back mentally to the 60s. The bowls are exhibition games, and Michigan is already the Big Ten champion. The 2021 season has been brought to a successful conclusion. Cherish the memories of "Mr.Brightside" ringing through Lucas Oil Stadium, and we'll see each other in August.
