Edwards is a great player but he cost Purdue that game. Cline or Eifert should have been shooting threes at the end. Edwards was like 3-14.

Crispin is more insufferable to me than Dakich. Non-stop blather and tries to be a contrarian. He is the only guy who thinks he saw the ball hit Coffey but he couldn't accept the call. Oh yeah, BEAT SPARTY!

Edwards is talented but his shot selection is poor--this is what it would look like if Poole had the green light for 40 minutes.

Edwards should not be on the all-B1G 1st team. Kenpom POY candidate aside, 46/34 shooting with 35% usage, a low assist rate (esp. for a point guard), and an ORtg of only 106 doesn't cut it.

First team should be:

G Winston

G Simpson

F Wieskamp

F Happ

C Fernando

Edwards is a point guard?  I mean, he's point guard sized, but I've always thought of him as a shooting guard and Nojel Eastern as the worst-shooting point guard since Tum Tum.

I love X, but I don't think he'll make the first team, at least not by the media.  (The media will choose Edwards, without a doubt).

I'm biased, but I think I might put Teske ahead of Fernando, in no small part because Teske shut him down head-to-head.  Fernando's offensive numbers are a little better than Jon's, and he's doing it with more usage, but Teske's defense is better.  Even after Fernando went all whack-a-mole in the Michigan game, Teske's block rate is still better than his, especially in conference games.  And then, throw in the fact that Teske is #1 in the conference and #2 in the country (!!) in turnover rate.  And top 20 in three-point percentage in conference play too.  Fernando has a lot more assists -- Teske doesn't kick it out very often, and Michigan's not shooting great from the perimeter this year anyway -- but he also has a turnover rate approaching 25% in conference play.  Teske's is 5%.

(Nothing against LaDavius Draine of Southern Miss, who is the national leader in turnover rate, but Teske didn't get to play games against Southeastern Baptist, Millsaps, and... Rust). :)

Early in the year I thought Edwards' inefficiency was due to the lack of other options on the team. Kudos to Painter, though, as other guys developed and they have had a very good season. But Edwards' hero ball cost them the game IMO. Not sure how good he'll be in the NBA given his PG size and SG skill set.

Winning Saturday is great for the BTT as it keeps us from playing MSU or Purdue until the finals. Would most likely get Wiscy or Maryland in the semis which would be tough but I’d take it

Saturday's set up for a perfect ending to a great regular season.

B1G hoops has been so much fun; don't want it to end.

Thank you Minny - Beat Sparty!!!!

If we improve our defense vs Sparty we should win with a bit of comfort. Cannot over hedge on screens and let Tilman slip behind for easy dunks. Can’t leave Goins open at the top as he is an above 50% 3pt shooter from there and below average offensive player anywhere else. Winston will make his plays but can’t lwt the other guys make them too.

On offense we gotta get Teske going he has a huge size advantage. Livers and Poole need to combine to hit 5 3s and we should be good.

The challenge with defending MSU is that you have to pick your poison.

If you don't hard hedge on Winston, he'll have open threes coming off the pick.

If you do, you'll leave Tillman open on the roll.

So then you can tag Tillman by helping off shooters but then that leaves Goins, McQuaid and company open.

This is why having a PG who can shoot really well off-the-dribble run the pick and roll like Michigan did with Burke and Walton is so hard to guard.

And to make it even more difficult, they run it back and forth 2, 3 sometimes even 4 times to get guys exactly where they want them.

I am a huge hater of zones, but if Michigan can't find the right way to play the pick and roll, I would consider sprinkling in a 2-3 here and there.  Or switch everything and then rotate onto Tillman from the wing with Z scrambling out to cover the wing.

Very curious to see how Yaklich changes things up.

This x100.  Our offense, despite an end of game scoreless few mins, wasn't the problem against MSU.  It was actually our 2nd best offensive performance since New Years.  The defense got picked a part by Winston and I'm not sure what the solution is other than hope Goins misses open 3s.  Particularly if Matthews isn't playing.

I was a big fan of his comment after the game with us. Something like “that’s the most productive 15 minutes I’ve had in Ann Arbor in years.”

It’s rare for me to actually pull for a conference team because of their coach, but as far as opponents go, he’s an easy guy to like.

Another great thing about this Purdue loss is I believe Michigan and MSU will now be on opposite sides of the bracket in the B1G tournament no matter what the results are this weekend.  Not to take any team for granted in the B1G this year, the games will be tough regardless, but it is nice to not have to face our toughest competition in the league until the championship game of the tournament, if it came down to that.

If I am interpreting the B1G tiebreaker rules correctly, if two teams are tied at the end of the year, the first tiebreaker of course is head-to-head.  The next tiebreaker would be the tied teams winning % against the highest team (or next highest team) in the final B1G standings.  So, correct me if I'm wrong, but MSU would have the tiebreaker over Purdue given that they will at least have 1 win over Michigan (who will be the highest or next highest team in the final B1G standings).

Game Saturday is huge. Not only for Big Ten Title & helping resume but for confidence hitting the tourney. We need to get that train rolling, I think the MSU loss at home started it. Sparty, get off the tracks when the train is coming through butthead!!

Giddy Up!!!  Something big to play for on Sat!!!  Beat Sparty!!!

Also, don't be surprised if PU loses again at NU.  I knew PU was going to lose at least 2 more games after its win against IU.  They aren't that good but had a good run against mediocre teams.

Reggie Big is the anthropomorphism of Michigan's regular season Big Ten championship in men's basketball. He is a bipedal armadillo with a jolly personality who nearly died after a rough encounter with a mountain lion left him stuck on some train tracks. Fortunately, a scrappy gopher diverted the train just in time to give Reggie a chance. The story of Reggie's final adventure will play out on Saturday and involves escaping the perils of ancient Greece.

I have a pair of tickets for Saturday’s game in EL.  Anyone interested in trading for football tickets this fall email me!  [email protected].

They aren't great seats but there’s the opportunity to walk down near the floor and watch UM cut down nets with a win!

I will be very angry if we do not win on Saturday night.  The last thing I want to see is MSU raise a banner after the game with all their seniors kissing the logo at mid court and the angry midget crying and hugging his weird guys.

Sweet,  just waking up to this .

Lets get the reg season and the Big Ten tournament title in the same season .

Then, i guess we could win the Ncaa tournament too, just for the heck of it .
