He's never been a DC in his life. You don't just get hired over people who are actually qualified to do it.

Could you imagine Brady fucking Hoke tryin to get a playcall in on time? Brady Hoke evaluating what he's seeing, calling the proper defense, and getting it on to the field.

That would be a disaster.

Not all head coaches can be coordinators and vice versa.

He's never done it in his life, you want him to start now?

It's DL coach in the NFL or college HC, those are his options.

i have a issue with mediocre white coaches that seemingly always bounce back with good jobs. meanwhile mike singletary out there begging for a second chance on a nfl network documentary. I bet rob ryan has a job by camp. smh

as a lion fan i wasnt a fan of caldwell hire but as a colt his record was fine until manning went down. That organization tanked for luck then fired him when he had nobody at qb. The colt front office scapegoated him like they didnt fail to provide him with even a decent back up

Caldwell is a great example of what he means... Caldwell had been fine until he was forced to rely on Kerry Collins and Curtis Painter, as soon as that situation happened he was not only immediately shitcanned but became somewhat toxic. Meanwhile Ken Whisenhunt, who was farther removed from success in 2014 than Caldwell, was being coveted by Lions fans.

I mean... on one hand I see your point.. Another hand... I see mediocre coaches like Marvin Lewis surviving year after year prior to his recent success... then I see your point again with has beens like Jeff Fisher still getting jobs... Then again Lovie Smith was employed again...

It's a tough one.

marvin lewis did turn around one of the worst franchises in the nfl and lovie got fired after a season where he won 10 games. He definitely deserved a second chance with another team. Bears hasnt been the same since

Is he?  I mean, Texas only won 5 games this year but two of those wins were against Oklahoma and Baylor, they were a missed FG from 6-6,and a missed FG from atl east forcing OT with Oklahoma State.

If they can get that TCU co-OC and turn that offense around, I think Texas will be pretty happy next year.

But according to reports Richt said know before Miami got involved.

Now, to me, it was obvious that he was headed to Miami the day he was fired.

But UGA took a swing at him in some recruiting capacity and S. Carolina offered him the HC job. He said no to both and went to the U.

He could've stayed in the SEC and moved just hours away.

away from other SEC schools always plays well with the fan bases down there.  Even if its a bad hire.  This is probably a bad hire, but its South Carolina and they've already had the greatest 10 year stretch they'll ever have.

On the flip side, its a shame we won't get to witness RR turn a respectable SEC program into a complete clown show.
