Not great news for us for all of the Campbell fans out there.  It’s been made very clear that the AD is on a tight budget.  Although it’s probably a moot point, Harbaugh is safe at his current salary as long as he averages 9 wins.  IMHO.

This.  I'm happy for Iowa State and their fans, but if Ohio State, Notre Dame, or hopefully us come calling in the next year or couple years, that buyout won't be the reason he does or not get the job.  He's doing his best to build that program and get the admin to spend some money, but the bigger programs will pony up the cash if they really want him.

It's nice of the NCAA and NFL to leave him alone so that he can come to Michigan next year.

But seriously, I assume he had teams reach out to him and it's sort of weird he didn't make the leap.  I doubt one year matters to most people, but in the completely unbelievable instance that ISU takes a small step back next year it'll be interesting to see if Campbell tries to move on.  He doesn't strike me as a lifer for the Cyclones.

After JH purge of staff and now having a young star ace recruiting staff, I am quite sure this is the way back, and not getting a decent tier 2 coach with decent staff but new to big recruiting.... JH figured it out, finally.  Now we are on track.

Is this satire? Harbaugh has had 4 national top ten recruiting classes since he's been here. Three were before this year. On his teams he's had Jabrill, Gary, DPJ, Shea, Charbonnet, Solomon, Chris Hinton, and the list of highly rated players goes on. NONE of them have lost fewer than 3 games in a season at Michigan. How can ANYONE think the reason we can't beat MSU, Penn State, Wisconsin, fucking Indiana, etc. is because our top ten national classes aren't good enough? Our teams don't win because our playcalling is asinine, our talent development and identification is TERRIBLE, and our gameday coaching AND weekly preparation are almost always worse than the opponent that week.

It feels insane that people think we just need to plug in more 5 stars and all of the problems will go away. How many times must we go through the cycle of: 5 star commits, underwhelms/is underutilized, transfers away to worse school/is drafted lower than projected out of high school?? Players can't succeed at Michigan because something is systemically broken. This has been a pattern for nearly two decades now

I am in agreement that I don't think JH has figured anything out other than putting together a great recruiting staff. Can they coach up the players? Will the playcalling, preparation and execution improve? That remains to be seen. Many of the JH apologists are acting just like what Sparty fans accuse us of, always hyping up players or coaches and giving out September Heisman's based on coach speak and early season returns.

All that said I hope I am very wrong and that JH has figured things out. I want Michigan to win and not only win but beat OSU and win Big Ten Championships. I'm not satisfied with 7-9 win seasons. If JH can get us there that's fine with me, but if he can't and thus far he has shown he can't, then its time for next man up.

The Campbell thing was never happening but it kept us busy.

If Harbaugh stumbles, Mike Hart is positioned to become interim and then permanent head coach.  Especially after the RichRod experience, UM is not going outside the family.
