Offensive analyst/coordinator: Doug Pederson

I assume he’ll stay in the NFL but I’d be all for it if he had any interest, even if he just hung around for a year ala seemingly every OC at Bama these days. His Super Bowl win over Patriots was an offensive masterpiece.

as a Philly fan I would caution you that his strength is seemingly in being a HC and not an OC... lot of consensus in Philly that Frank Reich was a driving force behind the 2017 Eagles offense.

Eagles since 2017 have a losing record and have been bottom half of league in scoring, point differential and turnovers.

Eh, that might be the case, but as I'm sure you know, injuries have taken a terrible toll on Philly. Their wide receivers can't stay healthy, Wentz has had injury issues, the offensive line has had injury issues, the secondary, etc.

It's hard to judge his offense when he's running the receivers out there that he has been.

Every team suffers SOME injuries, but the Eagles have maybe been the most injury-prone team in the NFL over the past couple seasons. Maybe that's partially on the head coach for how he runs practices, how injuries are treated, who works with the team for S&C, etc., but sometimes I think it's just bad luck.

A very good point. They initially had a bad injury season (happens) and fired their medical staff. I know and tangentially work with the doc they sacked so call me biased if you like. But their injury problems have been progressively worse since changing their med staff. Regardless of cause, they have really been decimated by injuries lately.

This is absolutely true. Philly was missing literally 4/5 O-Line starters for all 16 games this season.  There isn't a single NFL coach who would do well in that situation.

Pederson is going to have several offers. He might be an OC somewhere for a while, but the NFL loves re-treads and that SB win is going to give Pederson a lot of milage.

As a fellow Eagles fan I tend to agree here. Doug Pederson was a great leader of men but his ability to call plays was certainly not a strength.

However, Magnus also raises a valid point that this Eagles team was crushed by injuries and also poor personnel decisions.

Knowing how this works, he'll probably go to Alabama as an offensive analyst while him and Bill O'Brien work to rehab their resumes.

Alabama is becoming a rehab center for top flight football minds who fail at their big time jobs.

If Michigan hired him, does that risk Philly fans coming along? They're almost as bad as some on MGoBlog.

This isn't an anti-Philly take. I love the city, lived there a few of times. I was a beer vendor in Vet Stadium.

Other than the recent possible news of Mile Hart to RB coach.  We the users of mgoblog appear to be conducting more of a coordinator search than anyone associated with the university.
