No mention of the 4 games in Louisville on the main blog

I know you’re not big baseball fans, but seriously, come on.

They spent about half of the roundtable talking about the B1G championship and what they saw doing forward for the regionals. We lost our 2 5*s on our basketball team, and that got like 30% of the coverage the baseball team did.

A) That was 5 days ago, a lot has happened since then.

2) There has been discussion, posts, and podacsts talking about the 5 *s potentially leaving for WEEKS already.

iii) The egregious nature of the way the final game was stolen is a huge deal to most UM sports fans, at least ones that like baseball.

F) The writers here are contractually obligated to fulfill the all the content related whims of it’s readers 24 hours a day.

If only I could! But you can be sure I WILL NOT be buying any of the toenail fungus medicine I keep seeing ads for on this site. And with open-toe footwear season upon us, I just want the world to know you can thank this blog for any horrors you see growing on my feet. Furthermore, I will be seeing my wealth peak with other management!

Yeah today was Iowa Day. And a chart for Elkon's article. And we are moving the MGoBlogFest weekend because Hawaii is now a night game.

Gonna get a 2023 Profile done tonight. I wish I could cover baseball but I don't have time. Alex wrote a great piece today.

Mgoblog is just a couple of guys, and they work hard at what they do. They owe us nothing. But I've always wondered why--at some point--the site did not move to more comprehensive coverage of M sports, including women's athletics. One reason is that would be a job of work. But I think the space is waiting to be seized.

I'm not going to get into why "Ace nuked him" in relation to WD having his free account on this site removed is a gross oversimplification of that whole relationship, but I do agree that it was nice that he paid attention to the other non-revenue sports.  I would add, though, that a lot of his coverage was UM-centric and rarely delved into opponents or the sport itself.

And this site does cover things like softball, gymnastics, etc.  But what people like about this site is the depth of knowledge the writers have about sports and it's difficult to have that depth for the 20+ sports that UM is involved in.  The big pay sites certainly don't have any better information about the non-revenue sports and I don't see people getting on them for it.

Yes.  The event itself WD got booted for was not in and of itself ban worthy.  That was just the straw so to speak.  Both are insufferable.

But suggesting looking the other way from WD's baggage because, hey, gymnastics and softball posts, is quite a stretch of justification.

Good riddance to someone who is incapable of learning his lesson and quite frankly, could probably use some mental health treatment (and not his BS depression takes WD would spew when things weren't going his way).

Good lord, are we back to people (who didn't donate) complaining about someone with a debilitating medical condition getting some money from people who like his work because he came across as a jerk to them?

Ace did not "hoodwink" people because he was "tired".  You don't have to like him without being dismissive of ME/CFS.  It's obnoxious.

boo, way to be deliberately obtuse, but thanks for self-qualifying as someone who just can't or won't empathize with someone suffering from a very real ailment.

If you don't want to donate, fine, but maybe if your life with kids at home is so hard, go focus on that and drop this....it has been a while, you should be over it.

Yeah, I follow his account on Twitter as well and...it's a trip.  He also does that incredibly fun thing where he gets into massive pissing contests with other fanbases but lacks the humor and wit to at least make those exchanges interesting.

My fave part (/s) is where he starts shit with Sparty students -- by a guy that couldn't even get into Michigan (or at least put the work in required to do so).  You'd think WD would identify with Sparty considering that.

I have no love loss for Ace but he put together solid content for this site and a LOT of WD's content was screenshots of shoes and extremely cursory overviews of other sports that were effectively just copy-pasted press releases from MGoBlue.

Again, the fact nobody seems to post about the women's XC team here except when they compete for in a conference/national meet points to there being a limited appetite around here.  I'm not saying that's good or bad but I'd rather this site put effort into what they publish than just fire off some half-ass blurb just so they can check off "wrote about X sport this calendar year".

I don't know about not being big baseball fans. Seth knew a lot in the WTKA show. I am guessing they will put some write-up together. That is too many games to address immediately during summer.

I feel like in the title game run a few years back it didn't really reach the front page till they won the super regional at UCLA. People get upset from time to time that X sport didn't get the coverage they wanted on the front page...when the same people probably also didn't pay attention to X team until they got to the post-season. Sometimes certain M sports aren't that popular and the staff picks and chooses what they spend their hours on

And truly, if they wrote about every team's 'run' to 17th in the national tournament, well, they would be busy.   (yes, I get that baseball, and softball's almost identical season, aren't the same as some of the others.) e.g. women's swimming (7th) never gets a write-up, field hockey (5th)......

I love this site because

1. The writers are passionate about what they write about and

2. They have a unique perspective/way of writing.

The fact they they don't feel obligated to write about everything that happens in Michigan sports, either because they aren't knowledgeable about the sport, don't have time or just because they don't have a unique take on the topic,  makes the pieces they do write that much better.

Think of the generic game columns you used to read in every newspaper or on ESPN.
