Maybe, but we also had MSU, Iowa and Wisconsin at home this year. We simply need to raise our level of play.

Wisconsin and Nebraska are about equal. OSU is at home instead of away. NW is easier than PSU. Iowa will have a down year without Stanzi. The only game that really gets tougher for us is @MSU and maybe ND.

I agree that next year's schedule is relatively favorable -but right now I have a hard time seeing us go 11-1, "lucky" or otherwise. Last year's MSU team lost a ton of close games. This year they're winning them.

MSU also loses a huge chunk of their D, and pretty much every star on their Defense.. and they don't exactly reload like OSU does..

On paper it looks like a huge loss.....they have had pretty good depth and a lot of their 2nd team guys have gotten huge minutes this year: Dennard, Pickelman, Treadwell, Hoover, Gholston, Bullough, and Denicos Allen have all gotten decent minutes this year. I'm not expecting the transition to be seamless, but I don't think it'll be as bad as it appears to be. What I'm worried more about is the O-Line losing 3, a position that's been somewhat of a weakness as the season went on.

Are going to be as bad as some make it out. Significant, but not a complete rebuild. The bigger problem is the absolute gauntlet of a schedule the Big Ten stuck MSU with, that could deflate a team record more than it was even inflated this year by not playing OSU. You're adding more tough games next year than you missed out on this year.

1) MSU Beating OSU - To say Michigan State, a 10-1 team that trounced us at our place would beat another 10-1 team from the same conference at home is not that crazy of a prediction.
2) Craig Roh - Even this board admits that Craig Roh hasn't had a great year. A lot of that has to do with the fact that we didn't have him down on the line for much of the year. But that doesn't change the fact that he hasn't been a particularly good player this year - just an average Big Ten defensive player. "Can't play" is strong language, agreed, but he had some high expectations coming in. I personally think he will meet those expectations in the future, but that doesn't mean he has this year.
3) Rodriguez simply can't recruit - This sounds crazy at first. He has brought in fairly impressive classes the past couple years, and this one is shaping up OK as well, which is impressive given the lack of success Michigan has had on the field. However, just to play devil's advocate, he's not recruiting on par with Florida, Texas, USC, Oregon, OSU, those types of schools. His classes are ranked lower than before he got here, and have decreased every year since he got her.
And most importantly, he hasn't recruited defensive players that have shown they can play (yet). They may show they can play eventually. (I know there are exceptions, I don't need a lecture on how sweet Mike Martin is. He's sweet, but the D blows.)

What does MSU beating us at home have anything to do with the comparison? MSU is a huge fraud that would lose to OSU by double digits no matter where they played. They've avoided 3 huge upsets by 3 lucky special teams plays and will get trounced by Alabama in the Capital One Bowl.
