You Mean

The one where WVU lambasted Georgia by three points?

There Aren't Any

Fair comparisons to ANY situations.

Each university is a different animal altogether. It's just time for Rodriguez supporters to bite their nails and hope Brandon is not announcing a decision to keep Rodriguez because, well, THERE CAN'T BE ANY REASON NOT TO ANNOUNCE IT!!!!

I Concur

Great post, and I agree. No way was RR hired to "revolutionize" Michigan football.

He was choice #3. You don't try to hire two other guys before you decide to "revolutionize" anything.

This

Is simply not true.

I Want, WANT

Someone to LOGICALLY explain why it riles so much anger when all people are doing is criticizing the coaching, the schemes, and the results.

These are opinions, and they are just as right as those who think it's time to go out and buy a lifetime supply of Foster Grants.

You RR supporters seem to act as if the 7-4 record is a monumental statement of proof that Rodriguez is turning things around. AND you, like someone elts said, criticize people like Simpkins while nominating Rick Leach for sainthood.

The product these days, simply, sucks. We are not competitive in the Big Ten where it matters. Simpkins is simply stating the truth.

Wait til your guy gets it turned around and can at least beat Michigan State before you deem anyone who doesn't follow the Rodriguez company line as an idiot.

Loyalty to Michigan is one thing, supporting Rodriguez is one thing--but blindly accepting the program is in good hands and is just a click or two away from domination (or even Big ten Title contention) makes you look foolish right now.

So What do ya Say, Magnus?

Another three years and our defense will be OK?

Yep, Rich Rod has at least that much time.

The ONLY Explanation is THIS

It's another exhibit in the growing pile of evidence that RODRIGUEZ is the savior of Michigan football!

YES! Mack Brown PROVES that Rodiguez is on the right track and will have Michigan winning Big Ten and National Championships by next Thursday!

Give Rich Rod a ten-year extension before he is snapped up by someone who can see through the crap and understand Rodriguez's MASTER PLAN!!!!

Funny Stuff

Another thread where UM fans get to argue with no one but their own demons.

Exactly HOW many Ron English fans were there when RR was hired? two or three? That's what I thought.

Oh, I'm sure there are several more now that Rodriguez has shown he forgot about defense altogether, but nevertheless.

Keep arguing with the voices in your heads, guys.

Wow

You sure are the bold predictor of the day!

To Keep Him or Not

Since someone brought up the term "ad nauseum" I'll add this: If the defense is so young that Rodriguez gets a three-year free pass, why not Gerg?

If Gerg has been forced to run a 3-3-5 without the talent to run a 3-3-5, why can him? WHO ordered him to run a 3-3-5 without proper personnel?

UM, as King Beaver always says, does not pay Top End money for assistants, including coordinators. Soooooo....who will come here for about $250 G per year?

Lastly, who is going to come here knwoing it's a one-year audition not just for him (or her) but for the entire staff?

AND, and here's the Big One: What DC will come here knwoing that if the team stinky poops next year, HE will get blamed for EVERYTHING and the UM fan base will scream for RR to get a fifth year while canning yet another DC?

Really?

You really don't think Brandon knows what he's going to do? You don't think he's watched the last three years with a vested interest, and he's spent the last (however many) months just waiting until the end of the season to make a decision?

That's the guy running the whole shebang here, and in charge of the sacred cash cow--football. If he doesn't yet know what he's going to do, hell, at this point he might as well flip a coin and let the outcome determine his decision.

Oh Dear

Not only are you insinuating that I might be banned, but exiled?

And to BOLIVIAN? Of all the places! Why not Mexican? Or Brazilian? Or Canadian?

Funny how on THIS exercise in journalism and media, people always want to ban the dissenters. The Bloggists let the MGoSupporters of Rich Rod engage in character assault, insults, and other childish games, yet all these supposed "UM Grads" and "Thinkers" want dissent completely removed from these pages.

AND all the while complaining about the mainstream media and how bad it is.

Even more ironic: Yapping about how sportswriters are, for the most part, worthless hacks who only like opinions that agree with theirs and only write, seemingly, to entertain themselves and each other.

While again, wanting dissent banned or removed, and attacking those who disagree that success for Rodriguez and Michigan is just around the corner.

YOWZA!

The Michigan Difference

That's Funny

I love the photoshops.

But I missed the memo on when Brady went sour. Did he introduce himself as having played at (XXXXX) High school on some Monday night game?

I Wish

For all to have a great Thanksgiving!

AND I wish for the team to pull off the upset this Saturday. I'll be putting all of my considerable energy towards positive thinking for them (it should be worth about three points) in the hopes that this losing streak to OSU will end.

And I especially wish a Happy Thanksgiving to Greg Robinson, our embattled DC.

And I Hate

Telling people to get a life because they think Rodriguez should be fired.

I'm thinking you have to post all you've "accomplished" (BTW, love how you feel the need to tell us you have a "steady girlfriend."Your first? I'll bet she has a nice personality)

I Love how you intranets message board guys craft images of yourselves that are the epitome of perfect. leaving no stone unturned (I volunteer at a free clinic). The only thing you left out (and now I'm wondering about you) is church. You'd better be going to church or all the good deeds (including the marathon running) will not serve you in the afterlife. You're marathoning and volunteering your way to hell unless you get saved, you know.

But doing all this, yet amassing 4000 sissy points on a message board (and I'm guessing you have achieved "Ufer" status as a Scoutie)--impressive. Impressive bullshitting.

Do You

Kiss your mother with that mouth?

Lemme guess: Proud graduate of Michigan, amiright?

Clarkie

But if I posted 40 bagillions times about how much I love rich rod, and ran about 12 diaries about how I still poo my pants when the players run out of the tunnel and touch the banner, and that if they fire Rich Rod and hire Harbaugh I will kill everyone in the world--then I'm golden and can post away, right?

Stop the Hypocrisy! Stop the hating of the H8TERS! We are human!

Tater tater Tater

Come one. He only "sucks" when he says somethign mean about Rich Rod.

Admit it. You just don't like people who don't like your beloved Richie. Free yourself.

OMG

Stanford has to give permission for discussions with Harbaugh? Um, hello, the 17th century called and they would like their ettiquette back. I'm sure no one ever talks to a coach without first obtaining permission from his bosses. Ahem.

Second: People pretend all the time to think for guys like Harbaugh on this board (why would he leave? He's got a $10,000 terlet in his office!)--yet when it comes to Brandon and firing RR--they wouldn't pretend to know what DB is thinking. Stanford? Michigan? Played at Michigan? Who knows--it's a challenge, maybe Harbaugh wants that challenge. Maybe he sees his alma mater torn apart and thinks he can fix it. Maybe he likes Michigan.

You "doubt Brandon wants to start a national coaching search"????? You're right. Brandon is a chicken shit AD who just wants to wear sunglasses and roam the sidelines touching injured players' groin muscles.

I'm glad we hired a guy YOU think is afraid to go out and hire a coach because he's already got someone who's making "slow progress" YIPEEE! Hurrah for Dave Brandon! No Ballz Brandon! He's our man--if he can't hire a good coach---well, it's because he doesn't want to look for one!

Why Not

Make an announcement about Rodriguez being safe to the press? Why not an extension (even two years) to soothe this savage beast?

I know things can still happen before Saturday, but I just wonder what is the purpose of letting Rich Rod hang in the wind. I mean, so MANY UM fans are absolutely CERTAIN RR is coming back and should come back--but why doesn't Brandon do it?

It would certainly help recruiting. I can't believe Rodriguez doesn't know what's going on, whether he will be shit canned, brought back and told to revise his defensive staff, or be given one more year and he can bring the current staff back intact.

Sorry, but until Brandon comes out and says, "Rodriguez WILL be back and with an extension to boot (OOPS! Did I say 'boot'--as in 'kick'? Sorry!)" then Rodriguez is gone, IMO.

If it takes a good performance this Saturday to assure his job (a win or a very competitive loss)--then bad on Brandon. One game? That's not any way to judge.

The decision has to have been made, and again, until Brandon makes a public announcement (to the public) in a BIG WAY, I'm thinking RR is gone.

Irony

Are you saying I'm an asshole because I call people names?

Thanks for proving my point.

Funny

A guy who posts enough to get 4000 points tells ME to get a life.

Barf

Forest? See the trees?

Michigan fan.

Check that: RODRIGUEZ Michigan fan.

Only you guys can't understand what's going on and what is about to happen.

Face it: Rodriguez is gone.

Good Lourdes

Ohio State will win this game by as much as they want to.

And certainly we should fire GERG for having his top six guys injured.

Funny

Bit I'll bet all you RR supporters thought his hire, and Lloyd's departure, WOULD magically transform this team into greatness immediately.

Jane, You Ignorant Slut

1. Why hire him and not let him run his system? Exactly. Why hire a guy who was so sold on his system that he could NOT (against his OWN words) run any other system. AND why hire a guy who would ONLY run that system with the talent left by his predecessor? Again, though: Rodriguez HIMSELF said he could "adapt" to the talent at hand. His words, not mine. And how do you know what he was hired to do at Michigan? Bill Martin went out on a limb and hired him against the wishes of just about everyone in the Michigan family. Martin, remember him? Great money guy--but he also brough us Amaker and Belein. Ouch.

2. I'm actually buying that the offense can improve with next year--but that carries the caveat of Denard improving and Rodriguez finding a running back or two that can take some of the pressure off him. And our receivers are a VETERAN crew--will they get better? We appear to be headed, if Dee Hart comes, toward handing off the running game (nice pun!) to a freshman. Hart appears to be good. But agian, this offense has been made to look like shit two Big Ten seasons in a row--and assuming next year it will be better simply because the players will be older? The other Big Ten teams will have also seen this--will they be able to adjust?

3. I don't know why all you guys assume UM wants to go "Pro Style"--and why even if they did a pro style would not be successful. Look at the O-Line--can they zone block? Can they block? How many sacks this year? Pretty good pass blokcing, eh? How about the tight ends? Koger in a pro style? Sounds good to me. How about the receivers? Most on the team are over 6' and big guys who are fast and can jump--perfect for pro style.

Quarterbacks? A dual threat guy can thrive in a pro style or a pro style hybird. Besides, Tate is a passer and a scrambler, and Devin is 6'4, 220. Enuff said.

4. Down 24-0 at half--UM scores some TD's to make it intersting. This is one of those points that is used to support the side you come down on. Game OVER--everyone knows it at that point. Be serious.

Kelly

What's his record? It's not 3-8 after eleven games, now, is it?

And as the Stomach Turns

Michigan fans who know nothing, and even less about Justin Boren, will grow big bonerz posting negative things about him while further embarrassing this already pedantic, infantile fan base.

We are probably already gaining a reputation as nothing more than a juvenile group of people who do nothing more than call each other names, excuse the repeated, HUGE and embarrassing failures of  a head coach who is at best a fish out of water, and at worst a "snake oil salesman" who is a complete fraud, and blame everything on defensive coordinators who are forced to coach a defense that is more gimmicky than junk bonds, while working with a staff laden with cronies and holdovers who do nothing more than get Rodriguez his morning coffee and hold up a mirror so Rita can dump another forty pounds of fluorocarbon-filled hairspray onto her West Virginia mullet.

Justin Boren was a troubled young man who wanted to be closer to his family (imagine that! What a fuckhead!) and didn't agree with the way this staff handled themselves. It's funny, but not only he, but about 20 some-odd other guys have bolted this program in the last three years. But of course, THEY have the problem, NOT our precious lil Rich Rod.

It reminds me of the line from the movie "Colors"--"You got a problem with the world, and I'm in it!"--I think by now 40 or so guys have left this program (and a lot of them Rich Rod recruits), including (likely) TWO defensive coordinators, yet they suck, and Rich Rod is just trying to do his best.

The media are ALL out to get Rich Rod. Many former players don't like him. Many alumni don't like him.

I'll grant you this: Opposing teams in the Big Ten LOVE HIM.

But of course, lil Richie Rodriguez is perfect and it's all someone eltse's fault.

Give me a break.

Oh, But Please

Let US know when Rodriguez beats Michigan State.

Rebut

#4: The "talent that was there" was pretty damn good, and Rich Rodriguez himself said he could "adapt to it"--and NO ONE assumed Nick Sheridan would be the quarterback. Sheridan was put in a situation in which he was destined to fail, absorb all kinds of blame, and used as a pawn to gain Rodriguez a first-year mulligan. Don't dig up Sheridan OR Threet and yell from your soapbox about poor lil Richie and what on Earth was he supposed to do. Defensively? That talent was regarded as pretty damn good--AND one that a decent offense could have been supported with prett well. But of course, Shafer had to assume the blame for "everything that was wrong with" Michigan footbll in 2008.

#5: The "most prolific offense in Big Ten history" was rendered largely ineffective for long stretches against the better teams in the Big ten this year, and will likely lead UM to an astounding 3-5 conference record. The choice was made by Rodriguez to go with another first-year starter, to waste a reshirt year for prize recruit Devin Gardner, and to make an example of last year's starter, Tate Forcier, who spent the better part of last year playing with an injured shoulder and running for his life behind a porous offensive line.

Rich Rodriguez was a "bold hire"? That hire was made after going AGAINST a search committee that twice recommended another candidate. it was made after two other candidates TURNED DOWN overtures from Michigan. As the old joke goes, "I was my wife's third choice, too."

Lastly, with regard to your third point, it depends upon what one deems "interesting"--if you are satisfied that Michigan racked up yardage and points that were laregely meaningless--well, good on you. But "interesting" went out the window when UM went down by multiple scores in the second half to ALL the better teams on the schedule, and only played well enough not to be completely embarrassed on national television in the eyes of only the most ardent supporters of this coach.

Blue Brew

The implication is there. When you include Bo, Criselr, and Yost in a post about Rodriguez, and strain to draw corrollaries between them and RR--you are implying that you think this guy is as good as them and should be revered like they are. It's complete failure.

Rodriguez hasn't earned the right to be compared to Mark Dantonio, let alone the great, TRANSCENDANT Michigan coaches who have personally built the foundations for the tradition this program stands on.

ANY post likening Rodriguez to these three Men should be shot down as complete crap, and regarded as an insult to every Michigan fan on the planet.

Speaking of Facts

Has it become public knowledge that Lloyd Carr suffers from Parkinson's Disease? Or did you hear that from Les Miles?

FAIL

Is that a picture of you in your avatar?

Yawn

The "next thing"? What about those who say, "Don't re-invent the wheel"?

WHERE is your "evidence" that an "overhaul" was needed?

You want the "next thing" EXACTLY because it is "shiny and new"--and to state otherwise is disingenuous at best. You know this, and I suspect that beyond a usual MGoBlog dance for points, you don't really believe this.

Your Team hasn't existed for three years. NO ONE believes this team has a chance this Saturday. Your Team has become irrelevant. Your Team has become an evicerated shadow of itself that is not competitive, and gives us gut-wrenching performances against the likes of Massachusetts and Indiana, and competes for recruits with the likes of Bowling Green and Western Michigan. YOUR TEAM is, in all honesty, gone.

YOUR TEAM did not hire Rich Rodriguez for small steps of improvement after being burned to the ground. YOUR TEAM hired Rich Rodriguez to take it to the "next level" IMMEDIATELY because Rodriguez, combined with YOUR TEAM's reputation, talent, and tradition, meant the rest of college football had better take notice.

YOUR TEAM has been sold a bill of goods that will not be delivered, and has left fans like you grasping at straws, posting stuff like this in nothing more than an attempt to convince each other (The Defenders of Rodriguez) that Michigan--yes, MICHIGAN, was right in drumming out Lloyd Carr and bringing in the "next thing" and could not possibly have made a mistake.

Were You

Saying these things about Detroit before all of the people started saying Bad Things about poor lil Richie Rodriguez?

I bet not.

Shame on you for demonizing an entire city because a few people don't like the coach of your favorite football team.

Well

People were, and still are, "romaticizing" the wins over Illinois and Purdue this year. And they are romaticizing "improvement" this year, which has come against such powers as UMass, Bowling Green, Notre Dame, and of course, Indiana.

As for your mention of Iowa and the rugby punt, the coach of that infamous formation was swimming with the fishes by the time Lloyd did his post-game presser. He wasn't allowed to hang around for three years.

Rodriguez chose to make Shafer the scapegoat for 2008. The real problem was his offense, which supporters of RR "romanticize" was left in the less than capable hands of Steven Threet and Nick Sheridan. EIGHTY THREE three and outs, numerous turnovers (many on UM's side of the fiels, and several taken by the opposition for defensive TD's), yet the "problem" was Shafer's defense, which was on the field for redunkulous amounts of time (although I NOW understand that with Rodriguez, time of possession is a worthless statistic), AND consistently found itself racing back onto the field to defend 20 yards of turf after yet another turnover.

People always want to point to the defense (and the defensive coordinators) as Reason 1 for the poor performance of Rodriguez's Michigan teams so far. But it is the strict adherence to The Spread, and his forcing the 3-3-5 down the troats of his DC's as the two main reasons this thing is on life support.

He's run The Spread without the proper personnel (or when he's had them, they were too young), and his three-man defensive line--built with ballerinas carefully crafted by Mike Barwis--has been CREAMED by Big Ten road grading offensive lines, and he has not adjusted and has been exposed. His special teams are "special"--if you know what I mean.

Recruiting? Well, we ARE stealing a huge amount of recruits from the MAC. But, of course, we "romanticize" that the coaching staff knows talent and is really good at finding diamonds in the rough. STARZZ BE DAMNED!

There are no "facts" when dealing with opinions--expecially in sports. But this program is in serious trouble unless we fire Rodriguez and bring in TEACHERS and coaches--and accept this hire was misguided, poorly researched, and is not working out at all in ANY way.

My Argument

Is not, and never has been, "We are Michigan! We should even win the Stanley Cup!"

I've been following coolege football longer than most here have been alive. I've seen EVERY major program fall into the terlet. And we are the last one, I guess.

But you know what? Not one, NOT ONE program that was taken into the terlet was brought out of it by the guy who took the program there, except for Penn State and Joe Paterno.

And why? Because all those other programs realized one thing: We're in the terlet because of THIS GUY!! Fire him!

I guess the revolving door on the office of the Defensive Coordinator doesn't bother you. Yes, defense has been a problem--but not NEARLY and nowhere NEAR this bad under anybody in over 398 years of Michigan football. NOT EVER. And, RR has managed this feat TWICE!

Everyone blamed Lloyd Carr for how bad our defense was--as in, he handicapped his DC's with a conservative attitude and anemic offense. An offense not devoid of talent, just devoid of imagination and allowing the talent to be deployed to its fullest. No one ever uttered the words, "This is the worst UM defense in the history of UM defense" when Lloyd was there.

The sad thing is, everyone wants to point to Appy State and Oregon as the crux of their arguments. Of course, the fact that Lloyd lost a total of FORTY games in THIRTEEN years is, I guess, further evidence that he really sucked big blue donkey wongs. But I digress.

And never mind the fact that over the course of his coaching career, RR is, for all the "magic" he seems to possess to his supporters, pretty pedestrian, winning at about a 65% clip. Three real good years at WVU, two bowl wins, and he is The One? Sorry, but I didn't buy it then and don't buy it now. And his record proves me out.

I'm not hanging on some esoteric thread with my arguments about whether he should be here. I've got visible proof, even despite the alleged "improvement"--which defies logic in the face of his record against Wisconsin, Iowa, MSU, PSU, Purdue, Illinois, and Ohio State. Which, by the way, is a stellar 3-16. THREE AND SIXTEEN. Oh yeah, he has Indiana's number, I'll give you that. And Notre Dame's. Wow.

As for 2008--go back there, transport yourself back in time, and tell me what you thought, and where you thought, Michigan football would be in 2010 when RR was hired. Tell me, in all honesty, if anything but 20/20 hindsight says you thought UM would be hanging at 7-4 by a thread and even contemplating handing this guy his walking papers.

Are You Kidding Me?

Apeal to the lowest common denominator?

Is that not what goes on here when someone dares insinuate that Rodriguez does not walk on water? When someone disagrees with the prevailing thought that the stench that is Michigan football is some sort of harbinger of future greatness because...well, because?

The vitriol that flies on this board when someone in the media also dares not bow to the image of Rodriguez as some sort of savior of Michigan football is nothing more than the lowest denominator, the primal, base attitude of a group of people who feel attacked and respond in a manner unbecomming of ANY fan base, let alone one that deems itself some sort of example of class and dignity.

This is hypocrisy of the highest order.

Well Now

One man's "suerficial knowledge" is another man's "litany of excuse making and enabling"

In fact, excuse making and enabling has become a new part of Michigan football tradition.

That is, when guys aren't worried about secret cabals of saboteurs and grassy knolls in Ann Arbor.

I Agree With Ed

Damage control. I mean, the ye olde "vote of confidence" has never come right before a manager or coach got whacked, right?

It's funny, the selective believing going on here. Everyone doubts a rumor that RR is gonna get the axe on Monday, but believes with all their hearts and souls that this Tweet solves the problem once and for all and Rich Rodriguez is going to be the coach forever and ever AAAAAAAAAAMMMMMMMEEEEEENNNNNNNN.

If, and I mean IF--OSU whacks UM on Saturday, Rodriguez will either be shit canned Monday or announce his resignation. PERIOD.

The only advantage to keeping him is the buyout that goes down after the first of the year.

Ummmm...

Turnovers don't just "go away." The OTHER teams have a sneaky lil way of playing...oh...what do they call that thing? Umm---Oh Yeah! DEFENSE! And the other teams have, uh, er...COACHES! YES!

It's not as if UM's offense is getting sick of all the "improvement" and is just walking up to Michigan State or Purdue defenders and going, "Excuse me, but would you like this football? Then take it! I'm SICK OF IT!"

This offense DOES present some hope for RR supporters, because you'd have to assume that for Denard and Co, next year their experience will mean better hands, reads, and techniques.

One Of The Things

Making this board harder and harder to read is no one can just write...a fucking heartfelt, honest diary.

We get all these stupid charts, and all this mellodramatic bullshit replete with some sort of pseudo-intellectual ramble trying to be Dennis Miller and Hunter S Thompson's love child when it grows up.

Man, Brian isn't anybody's "leader"--he writes. His opinions. They are funny, and he gives us great lines (that get beaten to death and get guys plenty of sissy points), like the afforementioned "pimp hand" or "deathbacker" or "head assplode" They're great, and the writing is great and funny--but when did that cause most everyone here to stop thinking and just basically type: "What He said"?

All that aside, this board has whimped out. It's become a place of Groupthink, and let me be the first to say that the demise of Rich Rodriguez is the only thing that will save this board.

Demons need to be exorcised. Souls, wretched in their carbon-copying of Brian and each other, miserable in their anxiety ridden, self convincing that Rodriguez will keep his job because "a guy who I know who hates Michigan is scared of Rich Rod" or "Dave Brandon is a CEO and as such, he will not fire Rich Rod knowing that the maximum return of the allocated sunk cost of the data process with a small sample size that spurs a congruent method of cost productive annotated BARF I WENT TO MICHIGAN AND ALL MY ANCESTORS DID SMELL MY CREDIBILITY!"--WE ALL need to be freed from the Evil that Rodriguez has Wrought.

And he can take The Barwis with him. Yes. I said it. The maniacal man-love for this alleged S&C "pioneer" is another thing that has polluted our fan base for far too long now.

The program is sick. Overmatched. An emaciated, emasculated shadow of itself with no swagger. We are relegated to using terms like "grit" or "determined" or "nice personality" to describe it. We pine for the daily post from the guy who met Dave Brandon while taking a dump at the Cracker Barrell in Nacogdotches, Texas and "DB" told him, "Rodriguez will be here until 2176. Book it."

It's time. Ohio State will put the nail, the final nail into the coffin. Come Monday, we will ALL be free. We will ALL be able to breathe again.

And THEN we can begin healing (by doing what MEN do: Beer, smokes, and whores), and the college football world can REALLY begin fearing what Michigan might do.

Pure Columbian Awesome

BULLSHIT.

You get off that high horse. When Michigan rolls out under a new coach, you'll be there. Harbaugh or not.

Don't Ya Just Love It

When the guy telling others to grow up reduces himself to petty namecalling and childish insults in an effort to cover up the fact he has no point to prove?

Nice work, aaamichfan.

Message board guy at his, er, best.

Um, Yes

Why would you let Rodriguez coach the bowl game? You can him, send him packing, and name someone from his staff as interim.

I don't know that teams ever let a guy they've fired coach the bowl game. Besides, UM will lose the bowl game 99-52 and then all the RR guys will SCREEEEEEEM because the offense looked so good scoring 45 points in the second half.

Who Knows

Maybe not for Rich Rod, Gatsby.

It Is Time

For the Rodriguez is Godriguez crowd to let Lloyd Carr go.

Lloyd has been sufficiently crucified here and by the Scouties for long enough. When your guy begins to be able to hold Lloyd's jock, then maybe you can talk about Lloyd some more.

But for now, it just sounds like most of what the RR crowd tosses out: garbage they need to convince themselves and each other everything is gonna be OK.

No Kidding

Because if you Rodriguez supporters are now telling us that 2013 is going to be "The Year" and LOOK OUT--

Well, it got funny when everyone wrote off 2010 and started hoping for 9-3 in 2011.

Could NOT Disagree More

I believe the exact opposite is true: the guys who put too much emotional dependence on Michigan simply can NOT accept that this hire could turn out to be a mistake. Heck, fancy numbers that seem to prove to them Michigan's offense is so "deadly" belie the fact that yes, it IS deadly, unless you are a Big Ten title contender. But you know, only a "raving lunatic" must be able to watch this offense and see that it is relegated quite ordinary until the outcome of said games against teams with a pulse is decided.

The vitriol Rodriguez supporters hurl at those who disagree that Rodriguez will deliver the goods also shows the insecurity their side feels. Ad hominem attacks ensue immediately upon posting displeasure with this man who, to many, is not right for the job and has rendered UM football an embarrassment to the proud tradition it has been built on.

Brian seems to be losing it, like King Beaver of Scout. They are squarely in the Rodriguez corner and for some reason feel compelled to have cast their lots with this guy, then defend them with all the aplomb of the average playground bully, and cannot fathom that they, and Michigan, might have made a mistake here.

Tell Them

You're going to spit on their pizzas next time you deliver one to their houses.
