Michigan Offers The Next Wes Welker - Oliver Martin WR / Iowa
He had a great showing at the Opening and earned a Michigan offer. Right now 247 is showing him a sparty lean. Hoping we can pull this slot receiver to A2.
Not sure what it is, but something about him kinda reminds me of Blair White or Julian Edelman, too.

Obviously a gritty player, brings his lunch bucket and hard-hat to work every day, seems very intelligent, good character guy in the locker room...

I thought I saw a bit more "Big Play" Ray Vinopal but with more speed.

His legs are too short. Do not want.

Definitely more of a Steve Largent/Cris Collinsworth/Danny Amendola/Max McGee type.
I actually see Michigan moving him to safety where he could be a Tom Zbikowski or a John Lynch type of player.
Did you know Tom Zbikowski is also a boxer?
because I thought you were talking about how many times that was mentioned by the play-by-play man when we played ND while he was there. Then I got to thinking you might be serious, so I decided to hold back.
doubtful
Your first inclination was correct. Definitely made me chuckle as well.
Almost as bad as the Chicago Media "Did you know that Jeff Samardizjzjejajia was a WR at Notre Dame? The Bears should have drafted him!!"
(Live in Chicago, Chicago fan, but the Chicago Media's ND worship is ridiculous)
Ed McCaffrey
The Opening could have been a Steven King novel about Martin's route running. He balled this weekend. I would really hate for him to end up in EL.

All those picks are before the Michigan offer. I read on the pay sites that he is very wide open at this point.
Those two seem to be legit threats. Obviously, he's from Iowa. He had supposedly said previously that an Iowa offer would be difficult to pass up. And being the type of player he is, Oregon is always an attractive option.
Not sure where Michigan would fit for him, but he and McCaffrey played pretty well together this weekend it seems.

Tom Waddle 2.0 all day.
to describe him, I'd call him gritty*
*I have not watched him play
... with the fact that he is such a student of the game and you have the next Steve Smith.
amidoingthisright?
Brings a "blue collar" mentality perhaps?

Not blazing fast, seems to have good hands, is white. That means he must be the next Wes Welker.
+1,000
I'm white, but am so sick of the people who describe white receivers as the next Wes Welker. People say that ONLY because they're white and that is ridiculous.
Am white.
Was not the next Wes Welker.
5/10, being white not all it is cracked up to be.
This entire thread is a joke about that, you know?
The dude is 6'1'' not 5'9''.
Despite not watching him play at the opening or checking out his hudl, but considering he's a Wes Welker clone, I can confidently say that he's scrappy, gritty, smart, tough and a hard-nosed football player. He will get his hands dirty and do what the coach asks of him despite not being the fastest guy on the field. He's just a football player.

Haven't seen him play either but he looks like a grinder with deceptive speed.
Eric Decker?
Good route runner. Not exceptionally fast but deceptively agile. Real gritty type of football player. -every announcer ever
He plays with a lot of heart and has great fundamentals. A real student of the game.
For stereotypes? No?
