Man, I've got a tough time seeing Wisconsin staying in the top 25 post-Kaminsky and Decker. I think Nigel Hayes is a fantastic college player and Koenig really improved as the season went on, but that's just a lot to replace. Bo Ryan is Bo Ryan but I think they're gonna end up hovering in the high 20's low 30's when it's all said and done.

is dead on arrival. Michigan is loaded and the only question about its performance is how the new guys respond. This team will be strong out of the gate and then define itself in the conference season. The list of usual suspects in high places begs the same performance standard that you would normally apply to schools who aren/t perennial powers.

In any case, this Top 25 is subject to massive reconsideration.

Maryland at #2 seems a bit high to me, but then again I have no idea how good that team is actually going to be versus the pretty good model they looked last year.  Cal at #15 feels like a "they got a lot of big freshmen" preseason placing that will drop when those guys struggle.  I expect Wiscy will find their way onto this list by the end of the year, though.  But it's still nice to see UM in a top-25 list.

More love than I expected after how our season went last year, but that just goes to show the respect the pollsters have for Beilein and his system.

If the team stays healthy, it could make some noise.

1) of course ESPN tries to generate clicks by predicting a preseason poll, 2) of course it works, 3) how fucking sad is it that Michigan fans get excited about being projected to rank 18th in a preseason poll

Never too early to start a "Projected Pre-Season Prediction Thread".  Make sure to get your predictions of pre-season projections in no later than the night before the much-anticipated day on which ESPN releases its pre-season projections.
