and we are on the field right about kick-off time for the michigan game.  going to probably miss nearly all of michigan v. cincy tilt.   oh well, kids' game is more important but somebody please keep me posted on the michigan game with some mental telepathy or something.

That's what we do for our kids! I only have 2, but we have a combined 3 soccer games and 2 baseball games today (I'm just a dad for soccer but help coach for baseball). Don't tell anyone, but I'm more bummed that I'll be missing the younger one's soccer games than the Michigan game. Let's hope we both come home to a win, good highlights, and lots of posts on the board to catch up on. Good luck out there today!

Not a normal weekend fortunately. #2 kid has soccer double-header--wife is going to those games. #1 has soccer and hen a baseball double-header, but the baseball games are part of an informal fall league. We won"t normally have all on the same day!

in that other post, i mean, they took the whole darn thread down.  bummer.  good for you for going 4-1, and very cool that son pitched 2 scoreless innings, such a low pitch count.  his stuff was obviously working!

as for football, it was a thriller.  tie game, twin on the left forces a fumble with a 1:12 left and recovers it.  twin on the right then scores the winning TD 30 seconds later.  to seal the deal twin on the left then lays a hellacious lick on the other team's star runner - he didn't fumble but he was done and there went their last chance at some come back.  and yeah, the weather was awesome and supposed to stay that way this whole week.

did catch the 4th quarter of the game.  as you say a good game to miss.  hopefully just some growing pains.  i still think speight can get it done.  maybe not a phenom, but very competent.

Nice--what a nail-biter! Must be great to see one kid get the key defensive play and the other punch it in offensively. Do they play on both sides of the ball, or at this point do they start specializing? I can't remember how old the twins are--I think a bit older than my boys. My older is 11 and just started 7th grade. Younger is 9--4th grade.

which is a long way of saying that although the twins are plenty capable of playing almost any position on the field, and sometimes do in a pinch, i let all the kids play no matter how weak they might be.  that is not to say that once in a while i might not sub out some of the weaker kids as i did today on a couple of critical drives, but i want them all to play and play alot so they love football and they grow in their abilities.  it has paid off and also i think pays off in that most of the kids come back to play in subsequent years - nobody sat on the bench.

Took red eye in from San Fransisco and have 3.5 hour layover here till my flight home to Cleveland.  I'm about as tired as you can be and every bone in my body hurts right now and nothing opens up till 7:00am so sitting here with the other misfit toys.

But cant wait till noon-I'll be home in time to watch the game!  But damn do red eye flights suck.

Devon Bush is already in the backfield waiting for a QB to show up so he can smash his face (please no targeting).

Can't wait to see that sea of maize and blue tailgate parties and another Michigan victory afterward.

It's the most wonderful time of the year,..,

Gonna miss it live, so will have to watch tonight - bouncing back and forth with the OK-OSU game.  Taking the family to VA Beach for the day, along with a tour of the battleship Wisconsin in Norfolk.  The boy is beyond excited to see the ship, wife is beyond excited for the beach, and I'm just along for the driving and paying.

Avoid injuries, get the bench some playing time, and win the game with aggression and cruelty!  Go BLUE!!!
