Last week dragged for me, but this week will be worse. I just want Michigan to put Sparty to bed already. They are due an ass whipping by Michigan. It's been way too long since that has happened. Now, I don't know if Michigan is going to destroy them, but I know we're winning this game. Harbaugh has seen the past seven games and I know he has been focused on this game for a long time.

Would rather fly under the radar a little longer. This is playing into Sparty's MO. Am I the only one nervous that they will come out of nowhere with their best game this year, one that showcases the team most expected?

I think M has a strong showing regardless but would rather not give every team "lack of respect" billeting board material

I think M has a strong showing regardless but would rather not give every team "lack of respect" billeting board material.

I mean, screw Sparty, Dantonio, and their unending need to act as if they're being persecuted at all times.  They're still ranked the #4 team in the country despite a series of wholly-unimpressive wins over very mediocre teams.  Trying to tiptoe around them because they'll turn any comment about them into an unforgivable slight is stupid.

Harbaugh knows the significance of this game, and the importance of re-establishing dominance against our in-state rival.  He's not going to let Michigan come out flat, and unlike each of the other games in the past seven years, he's not going to MSU come in and punch his team in the mouth, regardless of  Dantonio's ability to convince his team they they're being disrespected.

Here's hoping that after we roll MSU next week, Harbaugh gives Dantonio the same slap on the back he gave Jim Schwartz.

Jim Harbaugh, despite what he says in the media is not going to respect them any more than he did any team in the NFL. Harbaugh, Durkin, Mattison et al. will account for their strengths/weaknesses but it stops there.

Dantonio can convince his team they are being disrespected all he wants but all it's going to mean is that they can feel that way while taking a hellacious physical beating.

It's one they have had coming...and believe me, it is coming.

I agree with you 100%, but I'll argue that no amount of "respect" from the advanced stats will compensate for the disrespect MSU has shown UM by whooping us for most of the last decade.

These guys will be hungry to win. They smell blood, and a chance to exact some retribution on a team that became a perennial tormentor.

Its really exciting to see that if (big if) both Michigan and OSU win out, the game might decide who gets a shot at the playoffs, pending championship game, and who goes to the Rose Bowl.  Of course, all that is meaningless if we don't win this week...

The kids and the coaches will be very careful not to say anything disrespectful this week. They will let their play talk for them on Saturday. As Woodson said after the '97 OSU game "They do all the talking. We do all the walking". Michigan will win as long as we protect Jake so he doesn't become Sad Ghost Jake Rudock again.

I have a feeling msu will play much better than we think. But their defense isn't as threatening to me as Utah's or Northwestern's. I think Michigan should move the ball much like they did yesterday, but Cook's ability breaks them a few big plays. Not saying it will be close though...

The one matchup that worries me with the PSU game is Mason Cole vs. Carl Nassib since Nassib has turned into an excellent pass rusher this year and we saw what happened against Maryland's pass rusher. But if Mason Cole shuts down Shilique Calhoun this week not only will Michigan win but it will also put me at ease for the PSU and OSU games in regards to his ability to shut down an elite edge rusher.

I made the mistake of listening to the college sports channel on SiriusXM. Whoever the host was clearly hates Michigan. Did you know that Northwestern, Maryland and BYU are the worst offenses in the country? All Michigan did was so what they were supposed to do. Nothing special. MSU will be the test.

I'm considering cancelling SiriusXM just for that.

This sort of analysis could work if each team played the same or very nearly the same opponents, so it is cute and fun but would not put too much emphasis on it.
