Dickinson Officially Signs - 2020 group confirmed

JH announces the newest additions. Dickinson, Williams, Jackson, Howard, and Smith (grad). He hasn’t been officially introduced before tonight.

Welcome! Excited for Dickinson, dude will be a stud. Curious what they do with the last spot (assuming Livers back). Really would like a guard who can shoot. If we can’t get Miller (Illinois commit), then hopefully we hold it until this May 20th ruling. Thinking JH can talk someone into leaving and getting huge minutes on this squad.

Excellent class for Juwan in year one!

I watched a few Terrance Williams videos, and no doubt that kid can flat out ball. Appears to me he has the skill set to be a big problem as a 3-4 swing man. Very powerful and skilled in the post, but also posses the ability to stretch the floor from 3. Has the body build to play in the B1G right away and will be a contributor in his first year and multi-year starter, with high NBA potential in year 3. He was a highly rated prospect that may have still been underrated.

Similarly, Zeb Jackson is a utility guard that can run point and 2 guard and be highly effective at both. He's thin and needs to add some goof weight to his frame - which he will in Camp Sanderson - but he is an excellent penetrater with the vision to drive and dish, and also the ability to finish strong at the rim. Defense will be tough in year 1 as he builds on his frame, but has the length and athleticism to be an excellent defender. I think he will contribute in year 1 and emerge as a very good B1G starter and 2-guard starting year 2.

Hunter Dickinson is a fleet-footed big with very good athleticism for a guy his size. Not a pure stretch-five right now, but he can extend out to 15-ft and he will be a problem in the post right now for opposing bigs in the conference. Small sample size, but the development of the bigs in '19 on the roster is promising under Juwan and he has the potential to be a first round NBA draft pick. Center is a tough position to one-and-done unless you're a D'Andre Ayton level prospect, but he should develop into and excellent multi-year starter and NBA prospect.

Jace Howard obviously has the blood line, but also the build and length to develop into a very good player in the B1G. Make no mistake, he is no slouch. Has an effortless stroke and is very effective from mid-range out to 3. He needs development for sure, it doesn't appear right now he is ready to contribute year 1. He's not an explosive, above the rim guy, but as a coach's son naturally he is very sound fundamentally and understands the game; high court IQ. As he develops after year 1, I could see him becoming a very important utility player on a good team.

No doubt Josh Christopher and Isiah Todd would have made this a blockbuster class, but the guys coming to play for Michigan are still very, very good and they will make the program better. There is no reason to dwell on anything, this class is very strong and I think they will all make an impact sooner than later. Excited to watch these guys develop!

I'm excited for the versatility this class brings. Williams and Jace both will likely play the 3 or 4 depending on matchups and Zeb is combo guard who I think could play either the 1 or 2 based on where we need him. Some people see Zeb as ending up as a 2 which is possible, but watching him in ~4 games of him in high school, I think his playmaking is by and far the best part of his game right now

Also wouldn't be shocked if Dickinson was able to develop his 3 ball into that Jon Teske efficiency range (25-30%) where it was enough to make teams respect that shot and open the floor for him and the rest of the team

Harbaugh's last three classes have been ranked 14th, 8th, and 22nd so pretty sure you're wrong. I just find it funny Juwan Howard managed to sign three top 100 recruits in one class while Jim Harbaugh has signed three top 100 recruits in the last 3 years combined.

Top 100 recruits in basketball =/= Top 100 recruits in football

There's ~300 4 stars in football each year compared to ~100 4 stars in basketball and much fewer spots. The fact that you're arguing this is disingenuous

Really good first class.  Juwan is gonna be a great recruiter.  Hopefully he's learned to stay away from the circuses like the Todd and Christopher recruitments.  There are plenty of 5 stars who aren't like that and if he continues to win and put players in the NBA he will be able to pull them in.

I feel dumb, but I just realized (and think it’s cool) that our head football and basketball coaches have the same initials.

Yes, this is a random and dumb comment.
