Silver lining. Scotland is a hell of a lot safer.
Is it though? Michigan is doing extremely well relative to the rest of the US. Yes, that's partially because it was hit hard in March/April but currently one of the safest states in the country with a trajectory much like the EU in general and better than the UK if I'm not mistaken.
Yeah, the UK has had nearly 44,000 Covid deaths for its 66 million people, which is quite a bit more proportionally than that of the US (130,000 deaths for our 330 million).
Regardless, as a 20-year-old athlete he's likely not at major risk either way.
Scotland is doing much better than England. Zero deaths in the last 4+ days.
What about Juice Welschof? They should be granted sixth years if it proves to be too expensive to test them and charter a plane.
I believe he was already stateside when the EU restricted travel.
I'm not sure they'll need to grant them anything. I'd put the odds of having college football this season at 40% right now. And it'll keep dropping when this keeps getting worse. I just don't see any way that this ends up working out.
Shea's stuck in Uganda!!!
He was there to help out fellow Ugandans.
And now he's stuck!!!
Anyone wanna help him out?
Can you go get stuck there?!
I'm thinking he should help his best bud Shea by heading immediately to Uganda, hiding Shea in a bale of hay, and then smuggling Shea back home.
After all, that's what friendship is all about, isn't it?
There was a student-run humor magazine at Michigan many years ago. I can't remember its name. I *do* remember people hawking it in the Diag, getting a quick look, and thinking "None of these jokes / pieces have any chance of landing well. This thing sucks from cover to cover. The writers must find each other hilarious but no one else does."
That's TPC on MGoBlog except that there are probably no other "writers."
Unrelated, here's what came to mind this morning when I saw "stuck in Scotland":
Are you talking about the ‘every three weekly’?
i agree that most of it was not funny, but I’ll always remember their Michael Phelps piece.
Yeah, I wonder what ever happened to some of the hacks that used to write/edit the E3W.
Decades later I still remember my favorite one-off fake headline: "April showers bring May flowers; Mayflower brings smallpox, white devils."
No. It was before that. Just can't remember the name .....
I think Brian Cook wrote for q3w.
e3w was great. i thought they did a really good job with such a limited scope.
The Gargoyle?
There you go, thanks.
It may have had some good years before and after I saw it.
Regardless of the topic, your nonsensical, humor-disabled posts have one objective: focusing attention on yourself.
This guy is like the shermanator from American Pie.
Looks like you're stuck in Bolivia, so perhaps it all evens out?
Can't a rich alum with a super yacht deal with this transportation issue?
Nah, the NCAA would see that and hit Michigan with sanctions so hard that they'd get clapped back to the leather helmet days
If I was stuck in Scotland I would hope it was on Islay. My favorite distilleries are there.
Are you a Parks Department director by any chance?
It is if you enjoy discussing Michigan athletics, which you clearly don’t.
Yea?!
We’ve been stuck in ??Bolivia?? since December 17, 2007. ?
Great film
If you like Danny Boyle films, I highly recommend Sunshine. The premise of the movie isn't exactly enticing (i.e. need to go to our dying sun and restart it with a large fusion bomb), but it has an all-star cast and the story is nicely multi-layered. Worth a watch.
I love 'Sunshine'! Back when I was a 20 something drunken buffoon I would always try and get people to watch it after being out drinking. That was a bad strategy to promote it as everyone passed out within the 1st 30 minutes, except me who watched it gleefully. Then I passed out.
Aye, look at that head, big as Sputnik!
light a match
I wouldn't mind being stuck at Oban Distillery
One of my very favorite stops in my years of business travels. That was a gem.
Does he have his golf clubs?
Pay that Loch Ness Monster his damn $tree.fidy and hitch a ride back to the US.
Is travel to Bolivia impacted? Asking for a friend.
Extended Scotch distillery tour is in order!
There are currently flights to and from the UK -- it's the EU which is a bit more problematic. Nor is there (to my knowledge) a ban on UK citizens traveling to the US. But perhaps Ojabo holds only a Nigerian citizenship? Trump banned Nigerians from getting visas. See here: https://www.nytimes.com/2020/02/02/world/africa/trump-travel-ban.html
It's hard to remember now, but that was a pre-coronavirus controversy. The justification given was terrorism, not pandemic.
