Balas: NCAA to visit Michigan on Thursday to discuss Signalgate
"Michigan is expected to receive a visit from the NCAA late this week, multiple sources have informed TheWolverine.com." Full article here. Says that Michigan takes the scouting issue seriously, and the outcome could determine the timing of Harbaugh's contract extension.

And what did Fox Sports post? A clip of Brady Quinn calling this stupid. Fox Radio...posts of Colin Cowherd calling this stupid.
You may be on to something.

Astros didn’t vacate wins…
October 24th, 2023 at 8:23 PM ^
Didn’t they pass last year like 50 times a game anyways? This is a Ryan Day team. They are incapable of running the ball.
October 24th, 2023 at 8:27 PM ^
OSU scored on that play. Just a huge competitive advantage.
October 24th, 2023 at 8:32 PM ^
When did Day say he changed the signals?
October 24th, 2023 at 9:26 PM ^
THAT'S their smoking gun? Michigan predicts that team with historically good pass offense will pass?
October 24th, 2023 at 10:01 PM ^
Oh shit, they knew it was a pass? How could they guess? Was it because that soft team can't run the ball or because they were so far behind? Or maybe it was because of the fucking stance of the offensive line.
Jesus.
October 25th, 2023 at 8:41 AM ^
Ummm....pointing to in- game reading of signs as is his job is standard practice and also what OSU's equivalent does.
This is BAD...a BAD take from dim bulbs. Next...and now the cannon has been swung back at the accusers just before they yell fire.

We are idiots if we don’t sign Harbaugh to an extension sooner than later. I would get him that contract extension while the NCAA was visiting if not in the same meeting. If Michigan wasn’t winning games, this wouldn’t have even came up. Harbaugh will likely be gone after all of this without that extension and public support soon, and very few would blame him. We bow down to the mob, and that’s why we will continually get blasted. Happened since the days of the Fab Five.
October 24th, 2023 at 8:35 PM ^
I’ve been wondering if Jim uses all this to double down, flip the bird, and sign the extension…letting everyone know we aren’t going anywhere
October 24th, 2023 at 7:59 PM ^
I hope UM threatens to empty the clip at the NCAA. I know it won’t happen but one could hope
October 24th, 2023 at 7:59 PM ^
Hopefully, the NCAA is meeting with Santa and not Warde.
October 24th, 2023 at 9:17 PM ^
I'd prefer they meet with Oz Pearlman, aka Oz the Mentalist. No negotiation necessary, he'll have the NCAA say, "Go Blue" in the end.
October 25th, 2023 at 6:00 AM ^
I picture Warde looking like Newman while interrogating Jerry over the mail scandal, sweat and all.

October 24th, 2023 at 8:01 PM ^
Hmmm. A “visit to discuss.”
I feel like I’m getting some “how can we all move on from this” vibes here.
October 24th, 2023 at 8:04 PM ^
Honestly the only thing that’s going to cause issues is once again if Jim thinks nothing wrong was done that stubborn SOB will dig in again.
I love how I get neg’d for the literal truth on Jim. If he thinks he did nothing wrong he will make it hard on everyone who has to deal with it. It’s literally how he operates on this stuff his whole life.
October 24th, 2023 at 9:06 PM ^
That is what makes him unique and a great person. Otherwise, he will become one of those snobs who are always after something. Besides, AD needs to step up and do his job. Don't expect Harbaugh to bend over.
October 25th, 2023 at 6:10 AM ^
Didn’t say he wasn’t a great person. I can see all the people who really didn’t play sports because being an SOB in sports is the best thing of all!
Oh and everyone worrying Jim leaves for NFL because of this stuff still don’t understand what makes Jim tick. This shit will make him want to stay
October 24th, 2023 at 8:20 PM ^
Bro, I hope you're right. It crossed my mind too.
October 24th, 2023 at 9:08 PM ^
that would be great, for both the program and my ability to focus on work.
October 24th, 2023 at 8:03 PM ^
The fate of stalions after this meeting may be a tell tale sign of things to come
GO BLUE
October 24th, 2023 at 8:04 PM ^
Not thread-Jack here….
Seeing this happen to what looks like the best team since ‘97 has me depressed….
I use humor to cope.
So today I attached a go pro to my Buckeye friend and colleague’s desk pointed right at where he would normal sit with the label “Property of Michigan Scouting Dept. Go Blue”
Screw it, I’m going to embrace it. We have no control over how it ends up. Just hope we go undefeated, my colleague is openly hoping the BIG bars us from the title game because he knows we are the better team.
October 24th, 2023 at 8:07 PM ^
Absolutely embrace it.
”You changed your signs last year and still got your ass manhandled. We don’t need your signals to punk you”
Wait until this year when we kick the living shit out of them. It’s going to massive shit talking after. It will be glorious
October 24th, 2023 at 8:11 PM ^
It's comical how OSU fans are desperately hoping and praying we get nailed. They know they have no shot against us.
October 24th, 2023 at 8:43 PM ^
Stalions is already gone, so if we beat them this year, they have no excuse. Which is one silver lining lol
October 24th, 2023 at 8:12 PM ^
Sack up, buttercup.
October 24th, 2023 at 9:01 PM ^
The truth about how much buckeye fans really believe in this stuff will ultimately reveal itself after we bash there heads in this year or even again next year. If they start calling for 3rd bases head or put him on the hot seat then it proves deep down they don’t actually believe there own rhetoric. If the truly believe they were just robbed by cheaters then he should have a clean slate right ?

The NCAA has never wanted Harbaugh to succeed. Same with the Big Ten. They are doing everything they can to make him leave for the NFL.
October 24th, 2023 at 8:14 PM ^
The order of operations here really does make it feel like this has been led by outside leakers and not the NCAA, as they seemingly were caught flat footed here. I assume they'd have visited before announcing the investigation otherwise.
October 24th, 2023 at 8:21 PM ^
It’s like Lenin said, you look for the person who will benefit and uh…
No, but seriously, this is probably coming from OSU. I admire the pettiness, especially since they’re probably doing the same thing.
October 24th, 2023 at 8:25 PM ^
It is "interesting" how the OSU insiders miraculously have this information before anyone else.
October 24th, 2023 at 8:26 PM ^
I don't admire it. I find it amazing that this is what OSU has been reduced to. They preach "toughness and physicality" yet resort to tattling to the NCAA because they can't hang with us on the field. It's pathetic. Woody Hayes would probably punch Cryin' Day like he did that Clemson player for such softness.
October 24th, 2023 at 8:59 PM ^
Urban is a lot of things but I doubt he’d invite the rooster into the henhouse over this shit.

October 24th, 2023 at 8:23 PM ^
Adam Rittenberg says that the Big Ten can levy punishment before NCAA can. If they try UM has to unleash unholy hell on the Big Ten.
October 24th, 2023 at 8:25 PM ^
Except the Big Ten won't do anything. These national reports need a big-time college football story and guess who it is this year.
October 24th, 2023 at 8:35 PM ^
Opposing fanbases have already made up their mind and are in full on conspiracy nut mode. Theres nothing you can say in response because theyve already pieced it all together man. We’ll just have to wait for the investigation to plod along
October 24th, 2023 at 8:31 PM ^
October 24th, 2023 at 8:33 PM ^
I mean, Michigan could also punish themselves before the Big Ten or NCAA -- but nobody is trying to willingly throw money away.
October 24th, 2023 at 8:35 PM ^
Can and will are two vastly different things. BIG would be a fool to cut one of their biggest cash cows at the knees and Fox wouldn’t allow it, either.
like I said in a previous thread though, the biggest concern isn’t BIG levying punishments, it’s making sure we get a fair shake from the refs moving forward. Wouldn’t be surprised if there’s so unofficial mandates, especially when we play OSU
October 24th, 2023 at 8:40 PM ^
If the Big Ten levies punishment, then Michigan should go have some conversations with the SEC about potentially joining that conference. At this point, with USC, UCLA, Oregon and Washington joining the Big Ten, it’s not like tradition even matters anymore. If other Big Ten schools want to damage Michigan over something so small, particularly OSU, then I’d say fuck maintaining traditional rivalries and move on. Interest in the Big Ten would crumble without Michigan. Even during the RichRod and Hoke years, ratings were still higher for Michigan than any other team in the conference except OSU. Michigan had more eyeballs than MSU, and MSU owned Michigan during that period. Money is all that matters in the Big Ten now, so if the rest of the conference wants to pile on Michigan, let’s see what kind of TV deal they can get without Michigan. And a side benefit, I’d bet that Michigan teams would probably travel fewer miles per year in the SEC than in the Big Ten without the lengthy West Coast trips.

I say join the Big 12. We'd dominate that conference.
