Congrats, AH!... hopefully you'll have to fit it and more in the trophy case!
December 8th, 2021 at 10:22 PM ^
Well earned. Thank you, Aiden.

A. I. D. A. N.
Give the man the respect he deserves by at least spelling his name right (this goes for OP too).
December 8th, 2021 at 10:24 PM ^
If he hadn't, there would have needed to be a criminal investigation.
Great job, Aidan!
December 8th, 2021 at 10:25 PM ^
The man was a beast this season. Well deserved!
December 8th, 2021 at 10:26 PM ^
staee fans gonna be pissed, just because!

Apparently, Aidan's father was introduced at the ceremony with a faulty bio. From one of the tweets from the awards presentation: "Best part was dad Chris correcting his intro as a former MSU player with, 'nobody wants to play there.' "

Glad that turned into a good moment, but how embarrassing for the organizers.

This is known as the SMARTASS/SMARTACC rule, "any accidental addition of the word State after Michigan is sabotage by a smartass MSU grad insider and any omission of the word State after the word Michigan is a smart accident."

Well deserved, Aidan!!
December 8th, 2021 at 10:44 PM ^
Wonderful news and well deserved!
Congrats Aidan, you earned it, hope he wins the Heisman and 2 more games to boot!
December 8th, 2021 at 10:48 PM ^
Congrats to Aiden!!
Not to go off topic (well, I guess I am), but Coach Gattis’ speech is a couple frames below Angelique’s post. Check it out-a John Cappelletti “Something for Joey” type speech. Very, very moving…

Thanks for pointing it out- hadn’t seen that.
link if people want to check it out.
It shows there’s a lot of love and respect there between Gattis and Harbaugh. Should put to rest a lot of the conspiracy theories of who runs the offense and conflict there we have heard over the years. A grown man isn’t moved to tears by someone supporting and believing in him unless there is a mutual respect and trust there. Glad to have both men leading our program.

That's great! Congratulations to him, to his teammates and coaches, to his family.
December 8th, 2021 at 11:13 PM ^
Rack up those trophies sir.
December 8th, 2021 at 11:26 PM ^
Well deserved and well earned! He came back this year for a reason and with a purpose, it's been incredible to watch. Can't wait to see him continue to thrive and make a solidify his case for #1 in the draft in the last two games of the year.
December 8th, 2021 at 11:27 PM ^
Awesome and of course well-deserved!
December 8th, 2021 at 11:27 PM ^
It is presented to the offensive or defensive lineman or linebacker who in addition to outstanding performance and ability on the field, best exemplifies the character and discipline of NFL Hall of Fame coach Vince Lombardi.
Yeah, that about sums up #97.
December 8th, 2021 at 11:27 PM ^
I hardly recognized him without his warpaint.
December 8th, 2021 at 11:44 PM ^
Awesome. Can't wait for the next big award! Go AH!

Caption contest?

Hey CJ, what did the five fingers say to the face?
December 9th, 2021 at 12:33 AM ^
That's awesome. Well deserved.
December 9th, 2021 at 12:51 AM ^
great news! Happy for the kid - just seems like a great person in addition to being a great player.
Amazing the difference a year can make.

The team should all wear tuxedos during Orange Bowl week.
December 9th, 2021 at 3:38 AM ^
Congrats Sir. Well deserved.
December 9th, 2021 at 3:47 AM ^
Congratulations to Aiden. Well earned
December 9th, 2021 at 5:15 AM ^
Congratulations Aidan. Well done and well earned.
The Ruddock level of misspelling of Aidan's first name on this Blog is almost embarrassing.
His dad being identified as Steve rather than Chris and now, as a MSU football player adds to the mess.
December 9th, 2021 at 7:32 AM ^
I thought that was for LBs. Anyway, am annoyed that these seem like consolation prizes. The Heisman he deserved... Young the QB is good, and merits it too but Hutch is far and away the best college player.
December 9th, 2021 at 8:05 AM ^
Aidan and Will Anderson Jr. are neck and neck, but I wouldn’t trade Aidan for any player in the country.
December 9th, 2021 at 8:25 AM ^
Goes to OL/DL/LB. Butkus Award goes to the best Linebacker.
These aren’t “consolation prizes.” They’re prestigious awards for players being the best in the country at their positions.
December 9th, 2021 at 8:16 AM ^
Can we spell his name correctly? It's A-I-D-A-N.
December 9th, 2021 at 8:35 AM ^
Great interview with Rich Eisen on TMI this morning. You can probably find it on a podcast.
December 9th, 2021 at 8:38 AM ^
Much deserved Aidan! I hope I live long enough to see his son in a winged helmet putting fear in the minds of opposing quarterbacks as well.
December 9th, 2021 at 8:40 AM ^
Pretty sweet! Congratulations Aidan. You earned it. Hope you win the Heisman. Go Blue!
December 9th, 2021 at 8:58 AM ^
Aidan makes his parents, U of M and the whole state of Michigan proud. I look forward to following him in the NFL.
December 9th, 2021 at 11:07 AM ^
I'M LOOKIN' AT YOU, BEDNARIK AWARD.
December 9th, 2021 at 8:04 PM ^
Seriously. Not even nominated? Was this for the best defensive player not named Aidan Hutchinson?
December 9th, 2021 at 11:44 AM ^
Oh jeez, another award that spartans are going to have to boycott. I'm taking their lead and also starting to boycott things I'm not invited to. That's why I wasn't chilling with Bezos and Shattner in that rocket, I was boycotting. I'm also boycotting the Nobel Prize.
December 9th, 2021 at 11:50 AM ^
Seriously. Did the awards folks even check with the Sparty 247 board? Has this been approved by the post-season award traffic cops in East Landfill?
C’mon …
