Brilliant. A homer with 262 points trying to spit in UMBIG11's face? What the fuck?

Like all weight loss and weight gain over the summer, this is exactly how I'm choosing to interpret Onwenu's comment.

09/17/2018 - 9:24am I think the material point…

I think the material point is that if a crappy team can convert 35% of 3rd downs plus some 4th downs, what will an actually good team do to us?  A secondary point, in my opinion, is that SMU probably should have thrown more slants/rubs even then they did, as it didn't look (to the eye, we'll wait to make a final call till UFR) like Michigan really had these stopped.

09/17/2018 - 9:12am Gotta confess, I think the…

Gotta confess, I think the athletic department should hire a staff member whose job it is to clip and submit crap calls made agains Michigan in all sports, making sure to include comparison clips to other calls/non-calls in other games. ...The more I think about this, the less I mean it as a joke.........

09/17/2018 - 9:09am I totally remember this from…

I totally remember this from watching live... Watch the footage till the end of the play. The ref runs over to Bush after the play with an angry look on his face after Bush yells something in the refs direction. The refs were a fucking tire fire on Saturday. That happens. The thing that makes me most angry, though, is that there is nothing to do but bend over and take it. The NCAA certainly doesn't give a shit. We watch Michigan sports with my 11-yr-old son, and at least once a game I have to trot out the line "If you really want to be good, you have to be able to win despite this crap"...

Screw that... a couple of 5*'s would be nice, but I'll settle for a steady stream of 3/4*'s that develop into anything between serviceable and stud.

Damn, I'd love for us to be able to run, with play-action to our great TEs as a constraint, and enough down the field stuff to the receivers to punish safeties and corners caught looking in the backfield....  Don't mind me... just dreaming of at least a "pretty good" OL, I guess... someday, right? Maybe today?  Maybe???...

08/09/2018 - 10:07am This, a million times over. …

This, a million times over.  I'm a professor at an R1 state flagship university, and the administrative bloat is mind blowing. Not to mention the fact that it's about 10x easier to fire a tenured professor than it is to fire even the lowest level staff member/administrator... Based on our budget alone, I would peg 90% of the cost increases in higher ed over the past decade plus as due to exploding growth in administration and internal ass-covering via regulation and regulators.  For an athletic department equivalent, IIRC there was a post on here a month or so ago about how the athletic department budget at UM has doubled or something in the past 10 years while the number of athletes/scholarship costs have barely changed.

Hey, Seth, thanks for the sticky. I'm on MacOS w/ Safari, and entering text in the search box at upper right results in text that is not vertically centered in the text box, but is below the text box, and therefore invisible. In the screen cap below, "asdf" is entered in the search box.  This behavior is present whether the header is short or expanded, and is independent of the width of the Safari window.

More generally, I have always preferred to read MGoBlog on the computer.  3.0 looks quite good on my phone, but the whitespace, fonts/font sizes, image sizes relative to fonts, header font sizes relative to body text, and un-bordered white background need tweaking on the computer.

Thanks for your work on the site--always great content!!

Same. Will try the clear cache and history approach next time... Is it wrong that I'm assuming the problem will recur?

I'll also note that for those of us viewing on a computer, we are definitely not the target audience. It's clear that responsive (read: designed for phones) UI was the focus.  In my experience, the more UI/UX is tuned for phones, the worse it looks/works on computers....

Yeah, well, one of those "experts" picking Nova is Myron Medcalf... you know, the guy called out on the board yesterday for having Ray King and Jimmy Jackson as 40% of Fab Five.

01/27/2018 - 1:27pm Oh, goody, we've reached the "blame the players"

Oh, goody, we've reached the "blame the players" phase! Not the "the players aren't talented enough" phase, but the "if the fucking players just did what the coaches told them, it'd all be good" phase! This is surely the thinking that will take us to a dominant decade of multiple national championships!

01/23/2018 - 1:33pm This is fake news! It has to

This is fake news! It has to be! I mean, it's IMPOSSIBLE for anyone to choose to remain coaching at the college level if they have an opportunity to coach in the pros!!!!!

BP is primarily coached by Pep? I thought Harbaugh was the QB whisperer. Umm, this explains a lot? Maybe?

(1) Wow, first post.  Upvote for that.

(2) Have we decided that was the problem this year... or at least an important part of the problem this year?  That Harbaugh was more hands off with the offense?

Wow... that is a pretty amazing comparison.  So, maybe we should hire something like a "Passing Game Coordinator"?  I don't know that we could pay him that much, though.  Maybe an NFL type guy--though he should probably come from somewhere with a tradition of winning and success in developing quarterbacks.  ...  ... Wait... WTF?

01/01/2018 - 6:02pm Damn, at this point I totally agree with you. ...

Damn, at this point I totally agree with you. ... and if it's not the players, it has to be the coaches. There's no way Harbaugh can go into next season without some changes on the offensive coaching side. Or at least I pray he doesn't...

At the rate Harbaugh's system is going through QBs, when are we allowed to start questioning the scheme and the assistants?

01/01/2018 - 4:16pm I agree with this as well...

I agree with this as well... playcalling and game plan seemed very poor...

01/01/2018 - 4:12pm Well, if this "meaningless

Well, if this "meaningless exhibition" is any kind of preview for next year (and seeing the OL, WR, QB, TEs, and a good portion of the defense are next year's starters), then the larger point is, we're not winning 10 games next year.  Not even close.  Oh, and that doesn't even begin to address the pedestrian game plan, poor playcalling, atrocious game management....

01/01/2018 - 4:02pm I don't know that that's

I don't know that that's quite right...  Drevno should go back to OL full time, get rid of Pep, and either (Jim) Harbaugh should reclaim real OC responsbilities or bring in somebody with a track record of college success.... kind of like the DB hire, but for offense.

I gotta confess, to at least a certain extent, that includes the proprietors of this site.  Yes, us fans are assholes on a regular basis, but it's time to be honest about how badly the offensive coaching staff is doing:  player development, play calling, game planning....
