2022 CB/S Myles Rowser decommits
Myles we hardly knew ye.
He saw the writing on the wall. Myles is a 4 star and only 3 stars are a part of Michigan's Defensive recruiting strategy.

Higher ceiling. Makes sense.

He’s not from Massachusetts OR Connecticut either. That’s a huge strike against him right there.
Welp, we're f**ed.
Better to be feted than fetid.
Isn't that Andre Seldon's brother?
It is. Sam Webb this morning said there is always reason to be concerned when a player recommits, but he could very likely end up in the class anyway. Kid probably wants to take some OVs and enjoy his recruitment a little bit. His Dad is a huge M fan apparently.
*decommits
I'm hoping that this is just a case of it still being early and him wanting to keep his options open because it's weird given his brother is on the team and his dad is a huge Michigan fan
This stay-at-home stuff made him heartily sick of his family. Kid is moving on.
from the article - kid wants to be sure
247Sports’ Midwest expert Allen Trieu added some more information on Rowser’s decommitment, saying that he “communicated this with the Michigan staff and has made it clear returning to the Wolverine class is a very real possibility.” ($).
To recap why this news is surprising, Rowser is the younger brother of 2019 four-star cornerback signee Andre Seldon. He followed in his brother’s footsteps by committing to Michigan in January.
Since his commitment, Rowser decided to transfer high schools from Belleville to IMG Academy in Florida, which probably played a factor in his decision to open his recruitment back up. Trieu mentioned that Rowser wants to take visits to Florida and Florida State at least, “without feeling like he’s betraying Michigan.”
The attitude around this situation seems to be that Rowser may have pulled the trigger too early and still wants to take some visits to make sure his decision is final without creating speculation by still being committed to Michigan. As mentioned above, there’s a good chance that he ends up back in the class.
I respect that. Dude is still young, should enjoy the process, and make sure he's making the right decision

Get treated like a king on college campuses across the country? Yeah, I'd probably want to take part in that party too.

we're learning about the recruiting 'dance' and yeah, it is actually a fairly complex emotional and intellectual exercise as you value a number of different criterion. playing time, academics, coaching staff, how much do they really want you on campus, how close to home, is the school one that you've always like or favored, and many other things big and small.
I very much doubt that he decommitted because Michigan wasn’t good enough academically, or didn’t have a major he’s looking for.
i don't have the slightest insight into why the kid decommitted. my comment was more targeted to the fact that it really is a more difficult decision than you might think as there are many factors at play, and i would add, those factors can vary literally from day to day.
I am pretty sure that Michigan does not have animal husbandry as a major. Maybe he wants to breed championship winning Holsteins when his playing days are over.

He gone
You can’t read to much into a 2022 kid deccommiting but we really need a change in momentum.
Agree on both of your points. This kid could still be part of our 2022 class - maybe just wants to look around a little more.

I doubt he will be back. I hope he will not end up at OSU but could be another top team like LSU, Clemson or Alabama. He probably feel we are no longer a competitive team in the B1G and we will always lose to OSU.
I say Move on..If a kid doesnt want to be here then time to move on and find kids that DO
Actually smart of him to do so and to be upfront with the coaches. You can only hope it will actually help Michigan in the long run when he see just how more "real" the Michigan staff is vs others. He'll also be able to ask the other coaches from Florida, "Michigan just had 10 guys drafted in the NFL. How many did you guys have?"
Florida had six this year.
I always thought Kylometers Howser was a better prospect. He has a much more scientific approach to the game.
What metrics are you using to come to this conclusion?

I see you Zach Galifinakas.
First I've heard of him.
He’ll be back. Not concerned.
Did you make an avatar of yourself?

Of course he did.
Look at meeeeeeeeeeeeeee!!!

You've been here almost a year and have a decent amount of points and you're just noticing this now?
Nope, my friend Derrick made it for me. @DRtheMighty
No his friend made it for him. Which he always tell people when they ask him about it. The funny thing is, that really doesn’t change anything lol. And I will say, I like it. Takes some balls to make such an outrageous move like that lol
Coming from the guy with an ice cream cone tattoo on his face.
It's no more outrageous to have an avatar of your own image than it is to have an obese black guy as your avatar.
That's pretty harsh. "Pleasingly plump" is a much more genteel description.

Get the 400,000 from Clemson FIRST, then sign with Michigan.
I wonder how that works ? Enroll first ? Or get paid first ? And what if either party backs out after the other executes their deal ? Not like legal action can be taken.
Could a recruit get paid, and then go to the school they really wanted ?
Could a recruit get paid, and then go to the school they really wanted ?
That is absolutely a scenario that goes on. Read the bag man article:

“A few years back, we were fighting hard for a kid in their backyard. We went for a full year with the family, thought we had it wrapped up. Still thought we had it done the night before Signing Day. He liked our coaches. But the family keeps dragging it and dragging it. Late that night I get a call, and it’s the player on the phone, the kid himself. You could tell he was nervous. He said, ‘Mr. [name], I talked to my mama, and we decided that $70,000 and we’re going with you, if you can promise us $70,000 tonight.’
“I knew right away we were being recorded, and I knew the asshole down there who had set it up. I knew him personally. They had him. That part was done. But they wanted to get someone on tape to try and turn it over to the NCAA. So I said, ‘Well gosh [player name], we’d love to see you here next season, but we just don’t do that kind of thing.’ Then I hung up.”
Take your time, young man. It's a big decision. We'll be happy to have you back.

NO. Be professional. Assumes that you want to be one.
If a real life college recruit acted like this, I would never contact them again.

Welp, looks like Don Brown better set up a Zoom meeting with a rich, private school in Massachusetts

Sounds like he wants to go through the recruitment process; I don't blame him. Sounds like a good chance he'll come back to UM.

The "recruiting process" may be forever changed if we don't get a vaccine relatively soon.

We have enough depressing news on the defensive side of recruiting for 2021. Do we really need this for 2022 right now?
