Can anyone do work right now?

My 10-year-old is actually on her spring break this week and although we are going on a short trip later in the week, lack of practical child care options meant she got to come with me to the office today--where I am demonstrating a prodigious example of non-productivity.  

Since arriving ~ 9 a.m., here is what I've accomplished:

• Read an article about housing discrimination;
• Reviewed latest mgoboard threads, maybe posted a comment or two;
• Watched Rumeal hit the free throws on YouTube;
• Chatted with a colleague about back yard design ideas;
• Went to the coffee bar for a latte, drank it there;
• Answered a list-serve question about an eviction case in upstate NY;
• Updated ny facebook profile to a Michigan Hoops picture;
• Scrolled my facebook news feed and "liked" all Go Blue posts;
• Emailed a former colleague about scheduling a call to talk about possible future collaborations;
• Took my daughter out for slices at Jo-Jo's Pizza;
• Read Brian's Villanova preview;
• Designed an awesome studio/tiny home for my backyard on www.studio-shed.com;
• Comparison shopped for modern studio sheds;
• Chatted with a colleague about her recent trip to Zion National Park;
• Checked mgoblog again -- and here I am.

I should probably just call it a day right now.  

I went to the Monday planning meeting and did a few other things this morning.  Now I'm just tapping my fingers and watching the clock.

Told the boss "I'm leaving at noon cuz I ain't getting shit done today"
Boss says "ok whatever"
Then I said "Win or lose, I probably won't be able to go to sleep so I'm going to come in at noon tomorrow"
Boss says "ok whatever"

My boss is awesome :)

Me at work today, but 99% of typing is MGoBlog related.

I spent all day yesterday lying in bed sick, making a basketball GIF. Today I'm just sort of spacing out. 9:20pm start time is no bueno.

pretty much sums up the blog's cumulative productivity level.

Does it LOOK like I'm getting any work done?

They say never buy a car that was made on a Monday or Friday.  This is the Monday of all Mondays.  Fortunately a lot of people are on vacation this week.  

I did get to a good laugh when John (Deepak) called from the IRS office in Louisiana (Ahmedabad) to tell me that the IRS home office in Washington (Mumbai) had placed serious charges against my name.  I let him know how relieved I was that the charges were only against my name and not me.  Later he let me know that he has grown used to working nights and that he does not tell his family what he does for a living.

and there is beer in the fridge at work cuz the boss likes to have one after hours so it's been really tempting to crack one all day.

That is why I just read this entire thread.

Summary judgment motion against me week ago Friday, trial scheduled for a week from Wednesday.

Judge, a UM grad, postponed the pre-trial from yesterday for a week.

Just got the call that he will read his decision tomorrow afternoon.

I asked the clerk if he is as distracted by the game as I am.

She chuckled and said "He does talk about it a lot."

Fortunately, light schedule last week and this.

No.

Completely useless right now (more so than usual).  Spent the morning reading game previews but that ultimately made me nauseous, so the afternoon will consist of staring at the wall...

Knew I wouldn't be productive, so I took a day off. However, now I have nothing to occupy myself with and the game is still almost 6 hours away. Help.

But I also now I'm going to be tired as hell tomorrow and maybe a bit hungover so have gotten a few stuff done today that I know I won't be able to be motivated to do tomorrow
