Amazon Prime "All or Nothing" show airs April 6th
The Amazon show gets an official release date and it's April 6th.
For me, the sting of the season is gone and the hope for next season is alive and well. The trailer for this has me super hyped, as it covers more of the lives of the team, not just the performance.
I can't wait.

Edit:
Also, on a site note (unrelated to the topic of this OP), on Attach Each Day, Jim Harbaugh specifically stated that Ben Mason will be playing LB this year. I'm not sure if that's in addition to FB or exclusively.
Woooooo!!!... goosebumps from that trailer - I'm pumped! Need to settle down though because it's March, football season is nowhere in sight, and we have serious basketball and hockey to focus on. Go Blue.

So (and I suspect this documentary may touch on this) he has another family who is close to him in addition to his mother. She obviously is very involved thinking back to the questionaire she gave to prospective schools.
But (unless the dude I ran into at grocery store wearing Michigan gear is completely lying and had photoshopped pics of his family with RG) there's another family who has been quite involved in his life too. So that may help IRT positive male and family role models
I fought for custody of my daughter (and won....twice), spending close to $30,000 in attorney fees for the various legal battles. I've worked my ass off to be at every performance she's been in, whether for school lays, the varous choirs she sings in, her limited time in dance recitals,....everything.
I can't imagine a father not stepping up. Rashan's mom has obviously done an outstanding job raising him, and she should be commended for it, but I feel so sorry for him not having his father being there for him in his life. His father is missing out on knowing what an amazing man his son has become.

Fuck.
Just fuck.
This is where I'm at with this also.
My face and my groin.
Because I'm pretty sure watching this will make my balls hurt a bit.

Wait this isn’t a thread about basketball or hockey. What is this football you speak of?
Looks like the team went for the “nothing” part of that title.
Edit: After watching the trailer, seems like they went in a more off-the-field direction, so it might actually be an interesting watch without the on-the-field wincing.
Don't be a fan later.

Harbaugh mentioned in his spring preview with Sam Webb that Mason is going to do both - FB and LB. Likely LB against run heavy teams like MSU/Wisconsin. Probably a good idea since our LBs are on the smaller side nowdays.

Maybe similar to Furbush where he is often blitzing to act like a 4th DL in the 3-3-5 and keep the other LBs clean on their blitzes. He's listed as 6'3" and 250 so he's heavier than Furbush though a bit shorter. Should be able to knock some OL back or off balance if he hits them with a running start.

About Ben Mason - this is not true. On the Podcast, he stated that Ben started out at LB, and the RB's asked him to switch to FB. He did talk about Mason playing both ways, though, because Owen Marecic was the guest (and had played very good on both O and D for Harbaugh at Stanford). He had Owen give some advice for playing both, and seemed generally okay with Ben trying to play both. But he stopped short of saying it would actually happen.
In any case, the love Harbaugh showed for the way Mason plays was undeniable. That kid seems destined to be one of the great FB's for Harbaugh...

I'm glad you clarified this. was worried were switching to no FB looks. Mason is a very good fit at FB.

Even though I am still disappointed about the season...there is no questioning how much everyone associated with this program has invested in it. Looks like they did a great job with the show.

People were/are concerned with how shitty our season would look on film. After watching the trailer, it seems that the most compelling parts of this series will have little to do with actual football.
That Rashan moment with his mom...damn.

I'm not sure if I want to rehash last season on TV or get paper cuts on my tongue

This looks great! I can't wait to watch it, disappointing season be damned.

The focus is likely to be more on the product off the field than on it. The on the field part will be a part of the weaving narrative, but this looks like it will give a lot of fans a good perspective of the daily lives of a lot of these players. And that it's with players at a major program, and not necessarily on their last chance, may in some ways make it a bit more optimistic and feel quite different than Last Chance U.
I'm personally pretty excited after seeing the trailer.

They tend to do that with the NFL versions too. HBO's Hard Knocks is probably 75% football, and 25% of the field stuff. All or nothing has been closer to 50-50 and I think with a college team, it will be even less football. During the Rams season last year after their atrocious NFL season, they found a way to make it uplifting while also facing the realities of a bad season. It certainly added a human element to the whole thing which I thought was nice. I'm very much looking forward to this.
Off field...- on field. You can see the games, we all watched them. They aren't going to relive that. WIll be some highlights, and low lights, to help further the story along, and tie together what happens off screens.

This looks very compelling. Will be nice to get more access to Harbaugh's personaility and those of the players as well.
March 20th, 2018 at 11:38 AM ^
honestly don't know if I will. It is not that I am not interested in the players as people nor would I mind a good behind the scenes look, but I am not sure I can suspend my feelings about last season and enjoy it. Last season left a really, really bad taste in my mouth and I am not sure I want to re-live it regardless of how good the production is.
March 20th, 2018 at 11:46 AM ^
I know this has been brought up before, but I wonder if Harbaugh contained himself for this documentary. People act different with a camera in their face. Maybe the added pressure affected the players too. I don't know, man. I'm excited for this, but perhaps everyone is better off without it happening again this season.
All I know is, the depressing cloud that followed me from the 2017 season is gone and I couldn't be more hyped for football. Let's win a championship in basketball, skip summer, and beat the shit outta Notre Dame.
No, he contained himself because he didn't want to be the cause for his team getting penalties anymore.
it wasn't a penalty, it was a technical foul, since the ref in question was a basketball ref.
jus sayin...

We can only speculate what effect this may have had on Harbaugh or the players, but I too am glad it's done and the players can focus solely on football. That said, the trailer speaks volumes about the integrity of Harbaugh and the program. If the rest of the show is anything like this, it's going to be both captivating and a great explanation of what Michigan football is all about.

March 20th, 2018 at 12:25 PM ^
For last season, I’m guessing they mean the latter.
March 20th, 2018 at 12:53 PM ^
I'll give it a try, but last season was really frustrating and I just don't know if I want to get even tangentially involved. Getting to know the players on a deeper level is always a good thing and hopefully makes people pause before typing during the game(s), especially this year when it's going to be just as furstrating as last year given this teams road woes.
