Michigan up 15 at the last TV timeout; just over two minutes left. The defense hasn’t been nearly as good as it was in the first half, but the offense has been better — although it went through a pretty rough patch after Iowa switched back to man-to-man and Robinson got his fourth foul. The pace is much slower, which helps quite a bit as well.

Hey XM: Be glad you missed this one. You avoided about a ten minute discussion of how wonderful Michigan State and Nebraska are at basketball and how they both should be top seeds in the NCAA, and how the numbers that show they haven’t actually accomplished anything should be ignored because reasons. Final score: 74-59 good guys. :)

So far we have one win and one loss at our games. Third and final game we trail by 5 at Half. Parents night for these last 2 games.

A great performance either way. ESPN’s box score has the 6 turnovers, but it could be that’s the one that’s inaccurate. It also has one extra offensive rebound for Michigan — 11 / 39 (28.2%). Iowa only had 5 / 27 (18.5%). And I remember the three OREBs for Iowa in the second half — two were in the first two possessions and the third was about 6 minutes in. After that, Michigan just shut them down. Iowa wasn’t missing that many shots, but they also weren’t getting a lot of cheap put-backs. There’s still a lot to clean up, but this team has more ways to win than other recent Michigan teams have. They can win with offense and they can win with defense. If they can put a complete game together, they can hang with anybody in the country. Go Blue!

I wouldn’t say a full lock just yet. If they lose out and whiff in the first round of the BTT, they could be left out.

But they’re definitely nowhere near the bubble as of today. A win on Saturday essentially punches their ticket to the tournament regardless of what happens in the rest of the regular season and conference tourney.

If they win out and win the BTT, it’s possible. If they look convincing while doing it, they could possibly even crack 4 seed territory.

Probable? Definitely not. But possible. There’s not a team in this conference they can’t beat.

We’ve already seen that the committee doesn’t really value conference tournament results. Michigan’s RPI isn’t going to be that great regardless, and their résumé isn’t going to be terribly impressive. I could easily see them winning out and getting a 6 seed. To get to a 4, they’d need to get quite a bit of luck from other teams really stratifying — all of the top seeds would need to win against all of the middle seeds.

Have to consider the opponent, but that was a good win regardless, and a solid confidence booster going into a HUGE showdown on Sunday.

A few more days for Livers to get to 100%, too. Hope this team plays like it’s out for blood on Sunday. Crisler had better be deafening.

I don't even have to use the "Ugly wins are still wins." mantra for this one.

Handled their business at home, let's close out Crisler for the year with a W on Sunday.

Hope the people at the game enjoyed the Valentine's Day Buffet and Lewis Jewelers gift cards that Michigan was hawking via text for this one.
