Exit Dan Enos?

Submitted by ish on

earlier there was a report that saban was trying to poach dan enos that sam webb quickly dismissed with a "he's not going anywhere."  yet 15 minutes ago he changed his tune and now says the story is legit.  he's not saying enos is gone, but that his departure is a real possibility.

Solve he problem by firing Pep and making him OC with the auto increase that’s implicit in his contract

I’m disappointed because 1. Drevno and Pep have gotten no bites from any schools 2. This is yet another coach for Harbaugh to replace and 3. Enos has decent relationships in Detroit schools. It’s like we’re taking three steps back. Last year Harbaugh went out found the top guy he wanted and that was it, this year it’s been an absolute mess

My god it’s not that freaking difficult. The buyout might be a lot but this is one of the wealthiest programs in the country, wouldn’t be hard to recoup that money. My real question is why are we paying so much for these guys, if you don’t wanna pay such a high price, lower the initial contract. This coaching staff bullshit has been so irritating in so many ways. Let it end please.

It is weird seeing so many people worked up about Enos leaving when his arrival was met with a lukewarm response. If he isn't getting the OC spot, then makes sense he'd leave. My guess is Michigan will make him the OC or a similar title; this just pushes up their timeline.

You don’t just sign a contract and then walk away a week later for a similar job elsewhere. Unless Enos was offered a coordinator position or something at a different level than what he had at Michigan, how does he even think about leaving?

It may be the Caden of him not having a contract or Bama paying any penalties associated with the contract. It’s supposed to be for a better title. With Pep, Drevno, and Harbaugh, there is already 1 too many cooks in the O kitchen. Adding Enos without dropping 1 or 2 of our OC’s was a mistake.

So, did we give him the playbook yet, or? ... The tin foil hat in me suspects Saban and Enos had an agreement even when he signed with us. Is this Saban infiltrating the fortress?
