One thing we’ve noticed in 3 seasons is he doesn’t mind mixing it up on the defensive side of the ball. On the offensive side(his “strong side”) he seems to like familiarity. However after the lack of success on offense this season I hope he goes out and makes a splash hire for OC.

I don't think he really cares what goes on with the defense, which is why he went out and fonud the best DC available (both times, actually - Durkin and Brown).  He lets them run that show because he doesn't want to be bothered by it.  And also because he acknowledges that defense is not his strongsuit.

Offense is Harbaugh's good side.  Don't hold your breath for a DB-like OC that will run his own scheme.

But all great people have to have ppl around them that will challenge or at least put insight into their heads. He knows offensive football, but having another great mind around would only enhance things and potentially make Harbaugh look even smarter as a result!

I enjoyed yesterday's thread that Ron Utah created regarding proposed OC prospects. Admittedly, I hadn't heard of any recommendations Ron - or the board - proposed!

Having said that, after reading through the posts, it seemed like a lot posters felt the OC from Okie State might be a good candidate (in addition to others). I am curious if there are any posters from the Oklahoma area who may be able to weigh in on how realistic poaching him from Gundy may be...

I still remember the numerous threads from people who were toying with the idea of him maybe being the HC here in December 2014, a month which I've since called "The Longest Month Of My Fucking Life". Of course, there were people who wanted inanimate objects coaching the team at that point too.

He brings a lot of NFL coaches here and many of them aren't available yet.  Since he probabaly wants to plan his staff as a unit, that means he may hold off on others he's already interested in

Wait, are you saying they wouldn't be satisfied with either? Or is Anderson on-board? I personally would be thrilled to have Drevno as just the OL coach (and the only one). Guy has an outstanding track record with it.

This is from the main paper in Baton Rouge: http://www.theadvocate.com/baton_rouge/sports/lsu/article_d567fdfc-eb84-11e7-9a72-e7d466a004e5.html

The 45-year-old Indiana native is actively pursuing other jobs, something the LSU football program insisted he do at some point in mid-December. He is currently a candidate at a handful of schools.

That buyout could make him a pretty affordable hire for a couple seasons, especially if he thinks this could be a launching pad to an HC job.  I could see us waiting in the weeds until that buyout is official before trying to hire him.

I never really got the Roman talk.  It seemed to be coming mostly from media types, and almost felt like speculation that got turned into "fact" when enough people cited the same couple of sources.

There will be a shake-up.  I wouldn't get too worked up about who just yet.
