Nothing can break a man's spirit any faster than a roundhouse kick to the face. That shits been working since before they built the pyramids.

for DB coach!
There! Happy?

He turned it down
December 6th, 2017 at 4:24 PM ^
Considering what a shit show that place is, going there (even as an HC) would be a step down...
December 6th, 2017 at 4:27 PM ^
On a serious note, good on Brian if this happens. Congrats on the promotion!
December 6th, 2017 at 4:28 PM ^
Nah we all know their hiring process doesn't move that quickly.
December 6th, 2017 at 4:51 PM ^
With this opening, we should poach Brady Hoke from Tennessee for the shear comedic value alone.
December 6th, 2017 at 4:21 PM ^
Could Zordich just take over as the entire secondary coach?
December 6th, 2017 at 4:25 PM ^
Do. Not. Want.
He has no experience with the safety position whatsoever.
December 6th, 2017 at 4:33 PM ^
Just making sure this is sarcasm.

He's either being sarcastic or flat-out incorrect. Zordich *played* safety, was the Safeties coach for the Eagles and then at Youngstown State before coming here.
December 6th, 2017 at 4:40 PM ^
That's what I thought when I originally commented. It seems like Zordich is well regarded around here as well.

Seems like there's almost too many available coaching slots to not have separate CB and S coaches. Think about it, we have position coaches for: QB, RB, WR, OT/TE, OG/C, DL, LB, CB, S, and will soon get a tenth full time coaching slot. Which position could possibly need another coach? I suppose we could make someone ST full-time, but I think it's worth while having CB and S coached separately, DB play under Harbaugh has been very solid.
December 6th, 2017 at 4:49 PM ^
There is no dedicated WR coach. That's a position we need to fill. A GA was coaching them this year. Then add in a second DB coach to replace Smith and we're full again.
December 6th, 2017 at 5:04 PM ^
Well I think Pep is the full coach that spends time with them, in addition to Hastings, as much as Jim does with the QBs despite "/QB Coach" not being in his title. I agree that we need a full-time WR coach who has played the position, however.
December 6th, 2017 at 8:21 PM ^
Scott Turner, who will be Michigan's 11th coach, spent a year as a WR coach in the NFL.
He also attended South County High School, which is where 2018 offeree Dillon Spalding (a WVU commit) goes.

during fall camp next year.
Perhaps Hugh Freeze is interested, it would be good for our team to have some coaching continuity... LOL! I'll see myself out!
December 7th, 2017 at 8:35 AM ^
Haa!! I know this is /s, but on the serious side - Hugh Freeze is just plain not qualified to be on Harbaugh's staff. He is literally not qualified, and I know he head coached a team that beat Alabama twice in the last 5 years.
December 6th, 2017 at 4:25 PM ^
I thought Zordich coached CBs and Smith coached safeties? Whoever coached CB's did a better job this year.
December 6th, 2017 at 4:28 PM ^
Zordich does safeties, Smith does CB's

Wow, had Higdon, Evans & Isaac sucked this year I would understand this comment. They did the opposite of that, therefore, I'm assuming this is saying it just to say it.

Is my biggest fear here. Love Harbaugh to death but dont really like his utilization of Jay as the "swiss army knife" of assistant coaching postiions.
December 6th, 2017 at 4:48 PM ^
TEs and RBs have been our two strongest position groups on offense.
No reason to question Jay, if anything, he gets dinged by the fan base because of the perception of nepotism.
December 6th, 2017 at 5:09 PM ^
Yep, the attacks on Jay are some of the lazier criticisms by our fan base.
