Michigan opens as a 13 pt underdog against Ohio State.

OSU is on a different level.

When we get behind....we have zero explosivity (I made that word up). Ohio state will score a lot. Maybe not as much as they did against state. But it will be too much...and our anemic passing game scares NOONE.
Look for them to T-off on the run...like everyone else has. And with their talent...I’m not sure we can push them around.
It will take a miracle.

MIchigan. He knows the university and embraces its academic standards. But he is not an elite coach or a great one. The college game has passed him by. He will win against lesser teams but not against strong and above average teams. His performance at Stanford was a black swan. Extraordinary given the restrictions he had to coach under.
The 49"er gig was ready to pop when he took over. He brought a positive attitude to a team that previously was poorly coach and had moral issues. He got out just in time.
He is not a Saban, Myers or Sweeney. I even think D'Antonio is a better coach. Had D'Antomio been coaching the team we would have beat MSU and Wisconsin.
JH achilles heal is he is loyal and keeps the same people around him even though results cry out for changes. To have your 27 old son who I don't believe ever play football at a high level coaching elite college players is a travesty.
So don't set your expectations on the level of Alabama, Clemson, OSU or even PSU.

Jeebus, you don't luck into Conference Championships and Superbowls, son.
Positive attitude, my ass.

You should go watch another team. Any other team with a better coach, you should find plenty.
Troll.

It’s hard to look like a genius coach when you are one dimensional. Play calling builds off of momentum. And when u can’t get any rhythm because you are one dimensional it hampers ones ability to strategize/scheme in BIG games.

at some point. 12 out of 13 years.
Is this desperation mode yet?
at some point you just gotta let the nuts hang. . .
November 19th, 2017 at 11:37 PM ^
You mean like how the team got mad after losing to MSU by going to overtime with Indiana the next week?

Somebody knows something. That's not a line that's based on O'Korn playing. Even us homers would not take that line.
November 19th, 2017 at 6:34 PM ^
Please Lord let it be Peters. The neighbors might start to get nervous if I see Speight out there on Saturday... Watching O'Korn makes me laugh so the neighbors wouldn't suspect anything but Speight is downright frustrating.
November 19th, 2017 at 8:32 PM ^
but the hit may have made Peters gun shy and lead him to start chucking the ball- be careful what you wish for

Right, because everyone expected a championship after losing so many starters, having a very inexperienced team, true freshman wide receivers, a porous oline, and a 3rd string qb. Yeah, championship or bust.

Oh no!!! A worst case scenario!?!? OH SAY IT AIN'T SO!!
How are we going to live with 8-4?!!?!?!? OH MY GODDDD HELP USSSSSS!!!!
We went 3-9 in 2008. Grow some fucking balls.

Like many of you, I drive hours to AA every home game.
Get in my tailgate, follow the band in after supporting the Cancer Support Community of AA beer garden on Hoover (editorial: you should too).
Sit in the stands with "that guy" a couple rows back, you know "get your head in the game guy" or "effort" guy.
Sat through years of terrible. App State, Toledo (f'n Toledo), escaping with wins over god damned Akron.
Yeah, we're in a tough spot here with young players, injuries (man, Tarik Black tho), a not ready for prime time o-line class from last year (hoping Filiaga is solid, Ruiz has had his moments), the actual o-line is not great. I miss Jedd Fisch (if only for his trolling that clown receivers coach at tOSU).
So, yeah, it's been difficult. But I'll take 8-3 at this point with a shot against tOSU versus where we were. If it's Peters I'll feel a lot better about our chances.
Still riding with Harbaugh.

Just because we are active on this blog does not mean we have to agree with Brian or share his season outlook. That 10-2 prediction was based mostly on having Speight taking another step forward and leading the offense.
Does Brian need to release a midseason W/L prediction to curb your enthusiasm?

he was legitimately 'out' yesterday. the brain is more susceptible to injury after having sustained one. i could see ohio trying to put a crown on his chin strap from the very first play.

I'm no doctor, but that seemed like a BAD concussion, and some take more than a week to recover from.
And with Speight, it sure seems risky to be putting someone who suffered cracked vertibrae back in so soon. Is paralysis a risk?
Again, I'm no doctor, but let's not rush them back just because it's Ohio State.
November 19th, 2017 at 7:49 PM ^
If Speight is cleared by the doctors to play, then he's cleared. His vertibrae aren't cracked anymore. He is at no more or less risk than any other QB. They won't clear him until all of that is true.
I don't know if they have cleared Speight to play or not. We'll see this week.
I'd be surprised if they cleared Peters this week no matter what.
November 19th, 2017 at 8:34 PM ^
but does any QB WANT to start behind this O-line?
