OT: Oklahoma signs with Jordan brand
Wow! I did not see this coming. I usually do not care about brands or uniforms, but I thought it was pretty cool to see the "Jordan" thing starting to catch on. I personally like it on ours, and I think the Maize jumpman really looks the best.

<sigh>
It was cool (for one season, of course) to be the only football team to have Jordan. Oh well. At least UM started the whole thing and now every Nike school wants to copy us.

Welp,
After 6 years+...I've been sent to Bolivia. I started a "FIRE Pep Hamilton" thread and quite honestly, I have NO second thoughts about it. I truly hope he's fired.
This is a place where I've come to share my thoughts and opinions about Michigan Football and I feel strongly about that one. The first time ever, not fire Hoke, not fire Beilein, not fire Red. But Pep Hamilton HAS to go (Hoke had to go, but I wasn't going to be the one to say it).
It's okay, I knew my time was coming. I'd slowed down the number of posts and felt like it was only a matter of time.
SO...someone take up the depth charts. I've updated one here and if you go to the end...I even snuck in some '18-'19 previews for next season.

As for me? It's all good. I appreciate almost every single poster on this board. You all provided me with the best insight, some great laughs, and just a sense of community. I say this often...many of us grow up and we're the only ones in our "circle" who TRULY know the ins and outs of Michigan football. We're surrounded by people who tell us "you see Michigan just got a 5-star kid out of New Jersey?!" ...a week late.
So we come here to follow that 5-star kid's recruiting process, to share thoughts and ideas, to learn about the team we love. Even just to conversate and be "around" people who love Michigan athletics the way we love Michigan athletics. And for that, I'm grateful. I don't want to go overboard and use "family," but many of you felt like an extended family.
I won't mention anyone by name because there are too many to name. But especially you all in those open threads...that's why I made my living (weird phrase, but it felt right). That's where I spent that majority of my time. Thank you.
I watch college football from ESPN Gameday at 9am (EST) until 2-3am in the morning. EVERY weekend. I start those open threads and enjoy every bit of conversation. If you've been part of that, thank you.
ANYWAY. I hope this things gets better...we deserve it. We're loyal, passionate fans, we support a team with the resources, tradition, history to be ELITE. I've got hope that one day we'll get there. Maybe that day, I'll create a new account...and start all over.
Until then, you all enjoy. It's been fun. I'll miss the conversation, the insight, the arguments, the trolling, the UFRs, the DEPTH CHARTS, everything. I thank you all for making this the BEST Michigan fan site out there. GO BLUE!!!

Here's the difference. When Mr Yost posted that goodbye post, people actually cared. When you copied and pasted, it's just annoying and unfunny.
Although I hope it was actually a goodbye post. At least get that part right.

Your final post just because you lost points? Points don't mean anything, unless you have a hard on for the ability to vote on this site. You can still post comments with negative points.

The Jordan logo is way too big on most items and the clothes are overpriced.
I'm not paying $100 for a pair of fucking sweat pants.
November 10th, 2017 at 8:55 AM ^
+1 hatter. It is crazy, the cost of some of these clothes. ($60.00 for a fucking drifit shirt) but Under Armour is no different and also expensive. At the end of the day, I prefer just the plain "Michigan" with a sublte jumpman or nike somewhere on the shirt, or pants. All these other brand logos plastered all over the place look bad.

if say, you could buy them put em on a hooker and do a line of blow off her..., all for $100, you know you'd be in on that like a champ.

Because I'm in for sure. Especially the one on Main. There's an employee there that had me thinking about abandoning my family.

At this point, I'd rather the nike logo. The jordan logo is a bit weird, and to be honest, Jordan's effect has been eroded by time. The new gen have no idea how great he was.
November 10th, 2017 at 9:11 AM ^
I mean, it's almost 2018 and the brand is everywehere. Obviously his effect hasn't "eroded" too much if all of these schools are signing with his brand right? I'm sure the new gen can youtube his Chicago days and get a grasp on how great MJ really is. He is compared to Lebron all the time, and i'm sure the younger crowd always looks up MJ hightlights to compare.

I'm not going to be "that guy" and start a new thread about shoes, but I was just randomly on Fanatics and it looks like some new Jordan "Grind" just came out in a michigan colorway. $115 and not bad at all compared to some other releases we have had:

Over priced stuff made in china. It would be nice if Michigan represented a company who makes there products in the united states. As far as sports lines go I realize no company exists. Just a shame.

Once again we gone Jordan and take less money for prestige and now it's out the door w Oklahoma and UNC both repping Jordan as well. Damn even schools like UCLA and others have a way better financial package then we do now.
They should of only signed w Jordan if we had exclusivity for like 5 years or so. A friend of mine here on the West Coast is the VP of Sales for the United States at UA, and he told me that UA offered double what Jordan offered and they wanted Michigan as there flagship school before the ND stuff came about. That's a lot of money for the school to leave on the table for a logo w a basketball IMO...

I thought it was pretty cool to see the "Jordan" thing starting to catch onMy take is the complete opposite. I wanted us to be the only one. It was something extra to differentiate us. If this just becomes a standard thing for the big Nike schools, we lose that little advantage.
November 10th, 2017 at 1:14 PM ^
We should go back to the swoosh. No point if anyone can get a jordan deal.

We should just not wear clothes. That will show them who's boss! Just wear a clear film that holds the pads together like typical gear for safety purposes. But NEVER change the helmet.
