Chaos in the B1G East

Submitted by chunkums on

As long as Iowa keeps doing what they're doing and MSU pulls up the big upset, we'll have:

MSU with one loss in the B1G

OSU with one loss in the B1G

PSU with two losses in the B1G

UM with two losses in the B1G

However...

MSU and OSU still have to play each other

UM still has to play OSU

Bizarre and unlikely scenario, but what happens in the event of a 4-way tie?

1 division loss.

That would keep Michigan and PSU on the outside looking in.

Our only chance:

  • Win out
  • MSU loses at least 2 of their remaining games
  • PSU loses at least 1 more game

Edit: I'm wrong in a favorable way for us. In a three-way tie with OSU, MSU, and UM, we would win because of sparty's loss to ND.

So really, we root for MSU to not win next week and PSU to lose at least 1 more game.

The odds of the latter happening are probably low, but ya never know.

If M wins out with Brandon Peters under center, many people will be questioning Harbs sticking with O'Korn for the losses.

Fuck MSU. They will the division and probably make the playoff. If don’t see Michigan is cursed I don’t know what to tell you.

I've thought we were cursed for a long time. The football program can't have nice things until we end the curse by beating MSU, PSU, and OSU in the same season. That's just my belief, but it does feel like the program has been cursed for sometime now.

No because it would be a three loss osu and three loss msu all with 2 conference losses and the head to heads being osu>msu>mich>osu which moves it on to overall record which has Michigan going with a higher overall record.

PSU plays nebraska, md, and rutgers though. I don't see how PSU loses those games without even throwing a pass.

and PSU must lose at least one more time. MSU must lose to OSU.

tiebreaker in a multi team tie is 1) overall record.

both OSU and MSU would have 1 lose OOC, so they would be eliminated. If PSU and Michigan are still tied, PSU would win with head to head.

So the only real path is to

1. Win out

2. PSU loses once more

3. MSU loses to OSU

4. OSU wins non Michigan games

We must go into a tie scenario where we can win the first mutli-team tie rule outright, which means tied with MSU and OSU in conference but PSU falls out already.

What voodoo bullshit gets a 3-9 team that got gutted this offseason to the inside track for the big title. Seriously, how many souls does this asshat have to sell

Seriously I gotta hand it to Dicktonio. Dicktonio gets his teams angry and ready to play and will immediately replace an unproductive QB or anyone on the roster underperforming so that helps and they do not make a lot of mistakes except for spelling errors. Our team, on the other hand kept with O'Korn and a 4 play playbook for weeks rather than getting rid of him for the more talented Peters and makes penalties like they are going out of style.
