Aren't We Where We Should Be?

Like, this Sucks... No question. But before the season we thought we'd be 8-4 to 10-2. That's were we all thought we'd be. In his 3rd year at Stanford, JH was 8-4. We have shit freshman receivers, a second string qb, but, did we really think we would be better than this?

The 2015 OSU team lost about 15-17 players to the NFL and had to field a team that was as young, if not younger, than the current Michigan roster-and they still won “The Game”! They still made the playoffs. That’s coaching.

Michigan lost 11 players to the NFL and yet that team lost to Iowa, OSU, and FSU. That too is coaching.

Dantonio, Meyer, Franklin, all approach the game with hate in their heart when they play Michigan. They transfer that intensity to their players. Michigan played the Florida game that way. But I’ve not seen it since.

There does seem to be something off mentality wise since the Florida win.

I also wonder if all of this NFL influence is a negative thing. In addition to having schemes that may be overly complicated and don't work well in college, the college game is MUCH more emotional than the NFL game. I wonder if having coaches who have spent more time in the NFL than college is hurting us on that front.

Shit freshman receivers? We just recruited the highest ranking class for wr I think ever.. Pretty sure it is fucking shit coaching on the offensive side

The whole f'in team left last year.

Highlight was returning QB - then got his neck broken.

Too young - our D was exposed last two games.

Maybe next year.

Exceuses are all I've heard since App. St.

If we had so much talent last year we shouldn't have lost to Iowa.  Or to OSU.  Or Florida St.

We sure as shit shouldn't have lost to MSU at home.

No more passing the buck.  Like Apollo Creed said to Rocky, "There is no tomorrow"!

In record, most expected this and Florida as the losses. There is more than overall record. This was one of the worst beat downs in our history.

Can't do it all the time.  They have kept us in games all last year and this year.

Bound to be hiccups here and there and if the offense can't stay on the field long the D just can't sustain that game after game after game.

Our offense is just plain not good.  I thought we would lose 3 to 4 this year.  The year is not over and we can finish decent.  Many supposed experts thougth this was a rebuilding year.  The building blocks are there and new QBs in the wings that I personally am looking forward to seeing, but the year is NOT over at all.

This game was the worst yet of the year but we also just lost to #2.  It's not the end of the world.

If barely winning against bad teams and losing/being embarrassed by any team with a pulse is where you think we should be right now, then yes, we are where we should be.

but pretty much, you're right. we knew that Penn State and Ohio State were loaded and not so young and we didn't expect the defense to be as good as it has been...and we didn't expect the offense to be this horrendous...

...but...pretty much this is about where we are supposed to be this year, yes...and all of the signs were there when we hired JH

Maybe you're right. I thought we hired the best coach and signed back to back top ten recruiting classes so we would be in the same place as OSU. If we had Kirk Ferentz as our coach I probably would be more accepting of a down year, but I thought with Harbaugh it would be different. Up until about 7:45 I still thought we had a chance at the playoffs so excuse my lunacy...I'm still struggling with reality and I'm currently in over-react mode. Ignore my posts until Tuesday. By Wednesday I'll have figured out a way we still make the playoffs and I will be an idiot for a whole different reason.

They changed the way the played and the type of players they recruited.. we have not. We are still running an offense from the 80’s. OSU made a commitment to recruiting the best athletes at skill positions. Tressel or Meyer would have made denard and Devin into Heisman contenders. We tried to make them into pocket passers.

Remember all those posts during the Tate Forcier years where he would blow a game late and everyone would post things like “Hey, I’m actually ok with this loss.” This feels a lot like that. The Michigan football brand is synonymous with losing and failure, and has been for a while. Keep thinking this is fine while the rest of the conference laughs at us and our overrated coach.

and you can be a fan or not as you choose.

You shouldn't be so thin skinned about what other fan bases think.  All CFB fans are radical proponents of their team.  Be a radical proponent of your team.  If we had gotten the benefit of even that last marginal call when Long recovered a fumble I'd have been cheering that instead of screaming F You REFs don't ever cut us an FIING BREAK and F YOu PEDO STATE!

Yeah I think this game was an under performance. We should have been competitive. We were not.

Expectations at Michigan are high. We are not meeting them right now.

you are not looking at how inferior we look from a coaching standpoint. Harbaugh will be here for a long time, that is fine, but we are not as prepared as our opponents right now, and it is happening consistently. A new day should give us all perspective, but that was a shit show.

But I really thought our D would keep us in the game. Disappointed. But, and I hate to say this, they had a good game plan. Found our weak spots. Continually attacked. God I’m sad. Ha. It’s been so long since we have done anything. All I can do is laugh

Oh Lord. I'm over everyone on here complaining so much. If you're actually a fan, not a troll, and you're on here seriously questioning Harbaugh as a coach, just leave. Don't come back. This was a bad loss, obviously. Young team. Backup QB. Etc. It's like half of you thought we were winning the title this year. It's Harbaughs third year. We had to rebuild. That shit isn't happening by year 3.

Zero BIG zero National Championships. That is what is expected from the top programs across the country. Can never understand why it is not the same here from fans.

Yes we are,  this board and this fan base are mostly idiots when it comes to being realistic about football.
