I agree - McCaffrey just seems very comfortable and just seems make the offense run smoother when I watched him. Truly hope there is an all out war for the starting QB next season. May the best man win because they earn it.

Thank you! Yes
|12/31/2018 - 10:34pm||Thanks for sharing those…||
Thanks for sharing those videos. We had some special moments this year! I know many went ballistic when we lost to OSU ( I admit I was angry, more so because I thought WE had it this year ) and also the let down of FL (lots of starters out though). We did have a good year and the offense did look better. I think most of us were pretty excited after wins against MSU and WI (regardless of if you think they are not good teams) and this season turned into an "oh man we are looking really good" team feel.
We live in a day and age where you press a button and "poof" we are happy. Many want instant gratification. This team made strides offensively this year. The last 2 games were a WTF moment I am sure for the players and us as well. My take on it is, JH does have his team now, it doesn't mean he has his full team with full depth yet though. This was an entire rebuild IMO. I know we all want it now and I know Saban and Urban stepped in and delivered quickly but they already had a really good cast around them. People keep talking about Saban and the truth is he has done excellent with Alabama but wasn't so great with MSU and his Pro career as a head coach. JH has been great and brought teams up (from the ground up) everywhere he has went as a head coach. I for one still think time is needed. I've always said (and I think this is for any coach in a new program) he needs 5 years. 5 to 7 is my take to really get his players, with depth, etc to run his schemes and have people that can fill in properly for injuries. It was a fun year, I was feeling good, any other fans I saw (which are not a lot here in CT) we very positive and we all felt this was the year to beat "Them". Then much of the fan base imploded. I understand it but some turn into true jerks about it on here and yell back and forth in the blog. We are all in this together, we are on this site to gain knowledge, to vent our frustrations and to cheer on when we win. I think most of us agree the offense is and has been the weak link. This whole "Don Brown has been figured out" thing is a bunch of nonsense to me. There are teams that just have your number at times but the offense has to have sustained drives and score to help our defense stay fresh as well. Love Don Brown and love what he has done and what he stands for as far as a mentor. I think his players love playing for him. JH is also a stand up coach who doesn't allow any nonsense from his players, I like that.
Anyway, we are all here because we love Michigan Football and we love that this is probably one of the best blogs out there with people who really give great info and great write ups on what is coming and what has happened, etc. Love this site but over the past couple years people just are going way out of bounds at times and need to chill. We are here to enjoy the blog and I understand complaining and being angry but why be angry at each other (disrespectful and hostile even at times)? We both want to see them win and be better. I understand letting the true trolls have it, but in 2019 can we just be a little kinder on the board? Can we have each others backs and not lash out at one another. Not all do this but it seems to be getting worse yearly. I joined this site in 2015 because you guys are awesome and the info I get here is spectacular and I have actually learned a ton more about football (and I played 10 years) than anywhere else.
So ..... everyone have a great 2019 and lets hope some of the complaining (for the right reasons) gets heard and we correct some of the things that need to get corrected offensively. We have a really nice class coming in and things are still heading up. Love this site! Special thanks to Seth and Brian.
|12/30/2018 - 2:03am||Other big issue with…||
Other big issue with personnel ..... and I am sure no one wants to hear this .... and most of us already know this. Michigan is (far and away) harder academically and many of the recruits on Alabama's roster would not qualify to play at Michigan. That is an issue when trying to get better talent here as well. It's just a fact. At Michigan student's don't "play" school, they actually have to buckle down and get to it.
But I do agree .... take a look and take things that will work. Never stop learning and evolving, especially on offense.
|12/30/2018 - 1:46am||Yes ... faster evolving…||
Yes ... faster evolving plays is the key. Less than 2 or 3 secs and get the ball out ...... It is what we really don't have / miss.
|12/30/2018 - 1:33am||I really have a BIG feeling…||
I really have a BIG feeling it will be a true competition. We have too many really good QBs now to not do it. I for one think JH DOES want to win and does want to field the best players. Shea is good and had some really nice games but I really liked Dylan McCaffrey's coolness when he was out there and the team seemed to just flow better. It's like had a better command or presence. I think it will be a battle between DM, Shea and Milton. Hoping it's an all out war ... it needs to happen. Players need to be pushed. I agree cbs650!
|12/30/2018 - 1:21am||Brown is an excellent D…||
Brown is an excellent D coach!. Is he perfect .... nope .. and guys have to perform as well.
Let's be honest if #10 would of played I am sure some better plays would of happened when FL's QB ran for it. No doubt. I would love to have played for and have D Brown as my coach. Simple as that. The D can't be out there all time like they were in the OSU and FL game. Even great D's have trouble being on the field too long. The Offense is and has always been the issue. We certainly made some big strides in my opinion this year but it doesn't mean we don't have a glaring need to still improve. Going 3 and out too often puts tremendous pressure on defenses. We need sustained offensive drives to allow a rest and a boost to moral on the team. Call it an excuse if you like but we were certainly down a lot of really good players today. Chase played hurt and wasn't his normal self. I appreciate his toughness and the fact he didn't sit out. Wish him the best.
For me, the team did better than I thought this year and I truly thought this was the year we would take it to OSU, I mean I am sure most of us did. Urban is a good coach as is Mullen. You will continue to see FL improve with him at the helm. I do agree with most that JH should bring in an OC ( or let one of his guys totally call the show ) and truly coach the team as a whole. I don't mind if he has some input into what he would like to see 50% of the time but we certainly need some creativity and some quicker evolving plays. Shea likes to be out of the pocket. He does fine in it as well but he is an athletic QB and it surprised me that they didn't call more QB run plays its like games past. But you know what .... the games are in the past for me already. OSU was my big let down and all I can hope is that we continue to keep improving offensively and with the couple of fast slot type guys we just picked up I see this happening (I hope). I trust Don Brown .. if the offense can catch up far more and we become balanced. We absolutely will be tough to beat. There is no question though, I just want to beat MSU and OSU yearly. I would rather lose a game or two a season but I for one want to beat those 2 all the time. I don't really care about being #1 at this time ... it would be nice .... but it's not my personal want.
All in all ... happy .... but was NOT a happy ending to the season. I do however really like some of the new guys coming in and see many of them competing and probably starting right away. We did get some real gems. Lets hope they shine soon and often next year! Go Blue !
|12/29/2018 - 3:31pm||I have to agree with you. …||
I have to agree with you. People are complaining that the D is the issue (lately) but it still falls back to the offense for me. You can't expect even the best defenses to stay out on the field over and over and over and not expect them to be beat. The offense has to be better and has to score points or at least stay out on the field for awhile. Sheeeeesh
I just wish JH and staff could bring in more of a college offense and stop trying to use a pro style offense which is easier to defend IMO. There just is no .... hmmm ... anything. It's just so plain and predictable and has been for several years now. For me personally its been my only gripe about this team.
He has to see that (I hope) there is just no spark to this offense. It's just dead with no flash to it at all.
|11/24/2018 - 10:33pm||Do you really think that if…||
Do you really think that if Purdue played them again that OSU would lose? I do not. Dumb crap (dumb luck) happens sometimes. We know this all too well.
I do believe though you are correct and offensively we are stuck (as far as vanilla calls) and JH needs to relinquish / find a OC. If we do that I feel ( and have felt ) it will be fine.
I am good (yes even after this game) with Don. Our D keep us in games 95% of the time. I'll take those 5% problems and truly bad games here and there.
|11/24/2018 - 10:25pm||Shea needs to be be bumped…||
Shea needs to be be bumped up to at least to 3 or 4 for all the short balls he threw and a couple of them were to Zach.
Gary has not been the same since coming back and I have never thought he has been back anywhere near 100%. He is more like 70% and Winovich I bet was playing hurt and again not near 100%. Call it an excuse if you want but that is a BIG and hearty blow to our pass rush.
All around there could be a lot of blame pointing. OSU just had it today and I know that pisses some of you off, including me. This game left me in disbelief and with a deep rooted disappointment to my core.
|11/24/2018 - 10:06pm||If you are talking to me …||
If you are talking to me ..... I'm commenting on his / the above comment saying Don Brown is overrated.
I just personally find it ridiculous. We have hung with "them" far more in games over the past couple of years defensively and with a better offense would have won. It's that simple. I don't care if you agree but I for one have been pretty happy with our D and the adjustments he makes. We got blown out ... in all phases today ... period. It sucks. Even the best coaches and players have truly bad games. No excuses today. We just plain got beat. I hope it never happens like that again.
The only thing that needs to change that I agree with and have agreed with over the past 3 years is, JH needs to coach the team and put someone in as the OC and manage both sides of the ball like Saban does. I think that is his strength. He does know how to find good people. They have too many hands in the offense play calling and it's not good. It has been much better this year because of having a mobile QB but we can all agree the offensive play calling is and has been an issue. I'm good with our D and good with having a bad game here and there.
|11/24/2018 - 4:53pm||Yes I agree ... our D in the…||
Yes I agree ... our D in the past couple did fine with a better offense it would have been a different story ... but ... we gotta win these games in the near future. We all want and need that.
|11/24/2018 - 4:48pm||You gotta be kidding me…||
You gotta be kidding me. Could it also be that OSU just was "ON" today at the wrong time for us? I mean sometimes a team just has your number and when they do you can't screw up one bit.
We all want to win THIS game. We all do. For many of us we would rather lose 5 games and win against OSU and MSU and its a good season, but lose 2 games and one of those games to be against "THEM" and "poof" we are terrible and the season is a failure. Make no mistake my day is ruined because we lost. In reality it was to a top 10 team and we played poorly at the wrong time. It does and did happen and yes I want it to stop as well.
|11/24/2018 - 4:42pm||I think the pass rush was…||
I think the pass rush was and is affected by 2 things.
1. I'm pretty sure Winovich is not 100%
2. I still think Gary is not near 100% either as he has not played the same at all since his injury awhile back. Those 2 guys are "the" guys.
|11/24/2018 - 4:36pm||We won 10 games. I thought…||
We won 10 games. I thought we would lose 3 or 4 games this year during the season. I think the basic issue as fans is ....we would rather lose 2 or 3 games a year but beat MSU and OSU and win the Big Ten and who cares about the other. That is basically what Michigan has always been about in truth. We just want to win THIS game especially though. It doesn't mean we suck. We just sucked today.
Our D for whatever reason has been pretty poor last three games. Especially with runs up the middle. Don is a great coach but something is off and has been for the past three weeks. Today was bad but I trust in Don Brown.
I thought this was the year we would beat "them" and obviously I was wrong. Besides the blocked punt (which the guys have to step up and block) the offensive play calling was vanilla except for when we got well behind. I would have thought that game plan would be very diverse. Just wasn't and throw in bad pass blocking and throwing the ball short to the WR's and it just got out of hand.
It truly sucks. Really thought ( and do think still ) we had the team to do it this year. Uuuugh
OSU played a great offensive game. I wish it wasn't true. I would still say our offense is not diverse enough and I really think its time for JH to hire or hand over the reigns to a full time OC after this season ends. Our offensive line did much better this year as a whole so Warinner is a keeper for sure. Only good things to come in that area.
Guess it's nap time for me after this game. I'm totally burned out and pissed. To be fair this team exceeded my expectations in wins but once they started winning I (and all of us) wanted more.
|11/18/2018 - 1:32am||I agree Tru has looked…||
I agree Tru has looked really good lately (possibly seeing holes better than any back right now).
|11/18/2018 - 1:28am||I think we are still…||
I think we are still dominant. 2nd half we basically shut them down. It's just been over the past 2 games I've seen some break downs as well. Out of place (esp the D ends) and allowing too much up the middle with both runs and the short (crossing) passing. Indiana played hard (and a bit dirty) is the honest answer. They wanted to upset us and played hard all game, I think it's that simple. They have put up an avg of 34 points per game this year. We held them to 20 so I am good with that and happy with the win. Indiana's D really came up strong in the redzone which made the game far closer and made Moody a superstar tonight. You're right though they did shut them down at the end and also played a LONG game (cramps etc setting in) which actually might be a good thing for next week as it was a helluva conditioning drill today for them. Yikes.
I agree, Don Brown will have us ready much like he did with Penn St. He WANTS this game and so do our guys. It's our year !
|11/18/2018 - 1:16am||Agreed. I doubt he would of…||
Agreed. I doubt he would of made half of them. I hate to be mean as I know Nordin certainly wants to do right but most of his kicks look terrible (especially this year) and "knuckle" often.
Moody has really nice rotation and gets "up" quickly. Dude was lights out !
|09/02/2018 - 12:44am||I agree - Shea should of not…||
I agree - Shea should of not been let to come back in. D Mac was doing a great job I think.
Shea did good but was not great at all. Hopefully things get "tweaked" (like more roll outs) to make his plays smoother and more to his strengths and stop so many drop back passes.
|09/02/2018 - 12:27am||I have no idea how you think…||
I have no idea how you think Patterson did great. He did ok but was not great at all.
We should of won that game. No chill .. no excuses .. it should of been a win.
It's one loss and hopefully the "problems" will will be workout out by next game. D started slow but finished strong.
Personally I liked D-Mac in there at QB. He just looked better and more decisive. Happy seeing him (surprised as well) in there and how he performed.
|09/02/2018 - 12:23am||D-Mac looked better and more…||
D-Mac looked better and more decisive to me.
I just wasn't impressed with Shea. He wasn't terrible but D-Mac just seemed to have more poise.
Looked like a young Tom Brady? (OK maybe, its just his #)
We flat out should of won this game. Totally a disappointment to lose to this team.
|05/11/2018 - 11:30pm||I doubt it ... About Milton ....||
Patterson - 1st
Peters - 2nd
McCaffrey - 3rd
Milton - Redshirt (no question about this)
Milton would have to be supremely awesome to beat any of those 3 out and burn his redshirt.
|04/13/2018 - 8:31pm||11-1||
Offense takes a big step forward this year with the passing game. That then opens up our already good run game which makes everything flow better for the play calling.
Defense is as usual - Excellent.
|04/09/2018 - 1:56am||Yep ....||
Chase is so funny on the field .. I love his trash talking .... but its in a very funny way. So good! I laughed often at his comments.
Pep - I like him and I see why JH likes him. He is a calm motivator. It really just seems the QB play was the issue along with the line. I did totaly get a different perspective on him and Drevno.
Don Brown - Man .... you just want to play for a guy like that.
Brandon Peters - Man .. he is so dry ... like no fire or other in him. He throws a better ball but he is just too laid back. Speight doesn't have a lot of fire either.
John O'Korn - He cares. He tried. He stepped up and said it was on him when it was. I just respect the guy a lot. He might not of gotten it done at all times but he certainly had fire to him.
Higdon - seems like a good dad (which I didn't know he had a child) and good dude (humble) and you can't help but feel for Newsome. I hope he gets to play again!
I watched all 8 ..... I really came away with a new perspective on this program. With the new coaches coming in (esp with the new strength coach) I really think offensively we are going to see a much better team in that area. Our D will still be great. Coaches can only coach so much but the players have to make the plays ( mainly QB and O-line). Overall just a great series and I really enjoyed it. JH has passion and he really has the knack for picking good coaches (morally and positive based) and it showed in this. I really liked it alot. It was still of course painful to watch the losses again but it was equally nice to see how many of the players cared and how much emotion they showed when they lost. This is a team ... they all care and it was nice to see.
JH has made some really key changes this off season and I really think it will show on the offensive side this year. Our D will be as usual. The show gave me a profound new respect of behind the scenes look which will make me change how I post on here when I am feeling a bit too critical.
They did a great job I think.
|03/25/2018 - 2:15pm||Just Terrible ...||
We are suppose to all be fans of Michigan .... that is just a poor statement.
JH wants to win and is a winner (no losing records here) and Coach B has had his ups and downs as well but is putting it together this year. No one is perfect ..... it was a nice tweet by JH. Your comment is just not worth making. Just terrible.
|03/23/2018 - 2:36pm||That's fine .. it was just my opinion ....||
FSU beat : Xavier and Gonzaga a #1 and a #4
Pretty good to me. They also easily beat Missouri #8 easily.
They just look solid to me and again ..... just my opinion.
They are playing very good ball right now.
|03/23/2018 - 12:05pm||FSU ......||
If we beat them we win out. I feel they are the best team besides us that is left.
Our shooting is important but it's our Def that will make or break us in this game.
They ARE the team to beat and with our current Def and how we have been playing I feel we can do it. Yes Villanova is good, I just feel FSU is the better team left in the field out there.
It's going to be a helluva game.
|02/08/2018 - 3:58pm||Hopefully he has ...||
I mean the easiest question is to simply ask ..... "Hey Don, what in your opinion are the hardest type of offense to defend against and / or what plays confuse the defense the most?"
It certainly would be the right guy to ask. My guess and hope is, he has. =)
|02/07/2018 - 8:25pm||Well ......||
It really seems like JH is very humble in this. It was nice to hear him say we need to get the Off up to the level of the Def. He gets it. I am glad he does I think he has just had some struggles esp this past year with QBs going down etc and he totally knows the Off line is a big issue. He seems humble and he seems to final show and say he knows what needs to be done without going into much detail at all. I'm happy to hear that ... all we can do is hope.
If the offense can just become consistant and average to a little above average it will be a big improvment as our D is ready and can keep us in games. It will be really interesting to see what the strength coach and the O-Line coaches can come up with. We have some proven guys there now with good O-Line track records / results.
|01/06/2018 - 1:16am||Not everyone is cut out to be a HC ....||
Some people just function better as a coordinator .... not everyone is meant to be a Captain and good at running a ship. Sometimes people are just great at certain things. I honestly can't see Don Brown as a head coach .. love the guy ... but being a D Coordinator and being fully focused on that IS who he is in my opinion. That is not a cut down at all.
I am truly hoping it brings good things to the table.
Michigan 230th in Passing and 78th in Rushing
Ark 161st in Passing and 115th Rushing
We need the bump in the passing area and we had a decent running game but the pass will open the running game up more and we all know this.
It will be interesting to see who we bring in for the offensive line if others leave. JH obviously has seen something he likes from this guy.
Plus, is it at all a possibilty to get Matt Canada (or other) as well and make that work somehow as a combo? Maybe Enos to RB coach and asst OC? Canada or other at OC? Hmmmmm
|01/06/2018 - 12:55am||I am a Raiders fan ....||
And have been since the "The Snake" years ....
He turned Rich Gannon into an MVP QB.
Consecutive playoff runs when with the Raiders.
The Snow Job with NE would of taken them to the SB that year and I doubt they would of lost. Yes ... I still think Brady fumbled ..... Yes ... I do! =)
Super Bowl against TB - That loss was totally on Bill Callahan. He didn't change the offense hardly at all that Gruden put into place thus allowing Gruden to know EXACTLY what the Raiders would be doing and which is why they got torched so badly.
He is a good coach and has a really good QB in Carr. It should be a pretty good team for at least the next 5 years with playoff runs mixed in. I'm happy about this hire. I did like Rio as well though. It was just a bad year is all, it happens.
|01/03/2018 - 1:21am||Fair enough ....||
I stand corrected I guess. ( I honestly have not looked at his stats) He just didn't jump out at me like some of the flashier, gunsliunger type QBs that come around I guess is what I meant. A little bit of cocky is what we need. Rudock was an excellent game manager as well.
|01/01/2018 - 9:22pm||Well ...||
Because you teach them you don't give up just because your team loses.
It makes the wins that much better. I don't hate this team or give up on Michigan football just because they lose a game or might have a losing season (which we have not since JH has been here). Pull your PANTS UP! Losses happen and we do NOT suck. We have not SUCKED since JH has been here. Sure we have lost some games we probably should of won. I get the frustration from everyone about the offense. I really believe its going to be corrected and as soon as next year.
You root for them because you don't give up just because there is some hard work ahead or some major bumps in the road! If you give up you're nothing but fair weather fan. PERIOD! Life is hard ... football is not easy ... things are not given to you. As a fan It makes it sooooo sweet when things are going well when you have been through the rough patches. Things are not that bad.
You stick with the team through thick and thin. That is what a TRUE fan does.
|01/01/2018 - 9:17pm||Come on ...||
The play calling is too consevative for my taste .. but its the QBs we have had that are 100% the weak link. If we had Jake Rudock this year (which he did a good job but was average) we would of won MSU and quite possible held in there closer with OSU and WIS.
I'm watching the OU game you can just see how much faster like Baker plays. QBs have to make quick decisions and quicker movements to make things happen. Peters even looks slow in most of his movemts. Patterson, Milton and McCaffery all have better movement. I was particulary impressed with watching Milton and how FAST he steps up in the pocket to fire the ball off.
Anyway .... don't include the entire offense. It's just a dumb statement ( I do get the frustration though). When your offense just doesn't make plays and get things going it gets tiring and brings you down. Its just natural, the QB needs to step in a FIRE them back up. We have not had that for the past 2 years. It IS the missing ingredient.
I've said this before ... we are going into a GREAT situation in my opinion this next year. We have 4 good QB's to have an awesome competition. I'm not ruling anyone out. I like Peters but he just seems to play in slow motion and needs to FIRE off the ball quicker to be our starter. I'm not sure he will be. I have a feeling it comes down between Patterson and McCaffrey. Just a feeling I have.
I am also pretty excited to see if the new S&C coach won't bring some fire into the system. Working with Wis and then Ark ... Wis always has good lineman. I like that he builds guys from the legs up. That is more important than anything to be honest ( I was a personal trainer for 20+ years and trained many athletes). Your lower half is everything for power and key to being efficent and staying in the game at a high level all game Not all S&C guys have that take on things. It's a good change I hope.
I think we WILL see a better offense for 2018. It's that simple and if we do and have the same defensive effort then games will look different next year.
Let the QB challenge begin ....
|01/01/2018 - 9:14pm||And||
Joe Milton looks pretty damn good too!
|01/01/2018 - 4:30pm||Nope ....||
Not going to argue you that .... it's the area we all complain about. Play calling is not very "tricky" at all with us. It's way too standard and vanilla for sure. It has to change. Again more so our QB play just has to be better with faster decisions as well.
It doesn't mean I don't think the multiple mistakes in the 2nd half by players isn't what did us in. I for sure think it IS that.
Safety makes the wrong read and corner gets beat deep for a TD,
DJP fumles punt
Multiple pass drops that hit their hands cleanly
etc etc etc
2nd half was a doozy of mistakes ... that's it.
Play calling - Crap .. but its the 2nd half mistakes by players that cost us IMO.
|01/01/2018 - 4:21pm||Hmmmm .....||
I didn't like the going for it on 4th at the end.
I didn't like the offensive play calling (felt they should of just went for more deep balls, as why not .. the game really doesn't count) but that has been the case most of the year for me.
But ...... the players lost this game at the end. You can't have turnovers like that or players making mistakes like that in quick succession. Fumbles, lots of dropped passes, int .. etc etc ..... It happens .. that is not on the coaches. We were doing fine and really controlling this game up until that point. Players make mistakes and in the 2nd half we stunk it up. Onward ..... Our offense just needs to catch up to our good to great defense. It's that simple. It will be a great QB competition next year. We have many different QBs (styles of play) to choose from now. I like Peters .. but ... he seems to be moving in slow motion to me.
Ok .. time for a drink and some hot soup! Happy 2018 .... sucks we had to be the B1G team to lose ...... oh well .... Next year ....
|12/31/2017 - 2:28am||Also the thing I see ....||
After watching Penn St, Ohio St and Wisconsin (especially Wis) games we played some darn good teams this year. Both Ohio St and Wisconsin looked very tough in their bowl games as did Michigan St. Bottom line is the B1G was just NOT an easy conference this year.
I'm happy for the wins from the big 10 teams! Here's to us joining in on the wins!
Looking forward to SC.
|12/12/2017 - 1:31am||haha ...||
that kid !!!! hahahahah
|12/12/2017 - 1:30am||I honestly .....||
Think we won't see another QB transfer for awhile ..... we have the pipeline in the works .... I think it's just possible that it was too good to pass up to have experience and depth?
|12/01/2017 - 2:34am||Very sorry ....||
I hope this will comfort you as I mean this from the heart. Sometimes we don't understand the reasons of the "why" of things. One can never understand the "why" of what happened and the "why" of the loss that occured. I like to think there has to be a reason of the "why". Maybe it was the body protecting the mother or something else wasn't just so. All I can say is with my sons mom .... we went through 4 miscarriages. Atopic .... anencephaly .... .... etc It wasn't easy as you can imagine. Don't give up though. There must have been a plan because on the 5th time ..... my perfectly healthy son was born. I like to look back and think there was a "why" and "how" to things and it just wasn't meant to be for whatever reason. This is just my view of my own situation. I hope you both have a happy ending in trying to have a child so these tears you have cried will soon be tears of joy.
Anyway .... I know how the hurt feels now .... I hope you get this gift in the near future and don't stop trying ( I mean it's fun trying .. yes?). It's no ones fault and nothing you could of done. I wish you and her happiness in this time of heartache and look foward to you telling this board about the "good news" in the near future.
I hope you have an awesome wedding!

Who's to say about any recruting cycle. There are 3 stars and walk ons on teams all the time that turn into big time players and 5 stars that stink it up. As far as I am concerned a good "star" rating can mean jack squat. I know we have had our fair share of trash talk about JH and coaches etc etc. IMO - JH and staff KNOW how to recruit. Ben Mason - 3 / 4 star - Freshman .. was excellent IMO for instance at FB this year. Found him in Newtown, CT. T. Black is from Cheshire Academy. I live in Cheshire, CT and I can tell you that is a SMALL school he was playing at. These guys find talent.
JH when he first came aboard had no time to fully recruit .... I don't count that class. He and his staff have done very well the past 2 years. We will see that come to light 2018 / 2019.
My only hope is a couple more good O lineman come on the board in this coming class. 2019 we already have an great looking O lineman on it with Nolan Rumler.
Upshaw looks like a strong and solid player ... D Brown and boys will have him ready along with Gary to mentor him. =)
|11/28/2017 - 2:13am||Hate to say it .. but true ....||
He missed so many open WRs today. Taking sacks when he was out of the pocket and could of thrown it away ... etc etc. uuuuugh
We played well enough to win and the play calling was actually fine. The QB play was terrible.
I do think JOK cares though and gives his all. Sorry to see it end like this for the guy.
|11/25/2017 - 3:52pm||Yes ....||
I actually thought the play calling was fine. When you overthrow your WRs (over and over and over) and take sacks when you could clearly though it away .. etc etc ... This game was lost by the QB. It is that simple.
|11/25/2017 - 3:44pm||Michigan .... ?||
Hmmmm - The offense actually had some good play calling. Our QB missed so many throws ... over thrown (4 or more?) ... not throwing the ball away instead of taking a sack. There were WR wide open and just plain missed them. Our QB play is the issue.
All in all .. I am happy with our performance but you can't miss easy plays. Just can't

M 20 : O 17
We finally pull out some tricks on offense and get lucky with 2 turnovers and a big special teams play. Our D is on fire all night!
Please ... MAKE IT SO ! Thank you Santa ! =)
|11/19/2017 - 4:08pm||Yes .... that is being reasonable.||
I posted this in a different area ... but is probably better suited here.
People go crazy and it's like their whole life evolves around Michigan football and if we are not perfect and winning every possible catagory we are a failure.
JH has not had less than an 8 win season yet. We don't have the depth quite yet and he is in year three. In year 5 he will have ALL his guys and the depth with be there (or should be).
We have had our share of injuries this season and some bounces that didn't go our way. That is football and it happens. We have beaten the teams we were suppose to beat. MSU and OSU never count as it doesn't matter the records as crazy crap happens and throw logic out the window.
I thnk we ALL agree our offense needs to be improved and get better. It IS on the way. I think Peters has shown he is better (IMO) already and will only improve. Then we also have McCaffery back there as well. They both look to be good from what I have seen. Then throw in Ruiz (who has played this yeear), Filiaga, Bredesen, Onwenu plus other OL will be around. We have talent and depth forming and coming in. Black, Collins, DJP all coming back and only freshman ...
I agree the offense needs to be more creative ... We all hope it comes close to catching up to our awesome defense. But really 8 wins is not the end of the world or a terrible season.
We could be FSU right now .... ? Fisher is a good coach and bad seasons can and do happen. I don't dwell on the past. The offense is dragging but this is a great program heading in the right direction. 5 years is the key. Any new coach deserves that and when 5 years comes and the coach is struggling then you maybe think about other options. 8 win seasons isn't a losing effort. Neg me all you want but anything 8 or better I am personally pretty happy with. Content .. maybe not. Do I wish we would win the B10..... yes ... I know we will get there and possibly beyond. We have had some weird games in the past 3 years. Games we could of and maybe should of won but flukes and bad bounces happen.
Happy with our effort against Wis personally and it was bad when Peters got knocked out of the game. He is still learning though and all this game exp is only helping. The fact that I personally thought we had a chance to beat undefeated Wis makes me personally feel good. Also, its not always on the coaches of the "why" we lose. WRs need to catch the tough catches and players need to be in their positions at the right times. We also need a bounce or two to go are way at times as well.
|11/19/2017 - 4:05pm||Nice ...||
So true ...
|11/19/2017 - 4:00pm||I think we all agree with that||
MSU ... punt fluke. Take that crazy play away and we win. OSU overtime .... we could of easily won that one as well ... we are a fraction away at times of winning those games you and the rest of us want to win. I'm glad we are in the games a majority of the time. I think we will get there for sure ....
