How can we make The Big House a more intimidating place to play?
I don't feel like The Big House really gives us that home field advantage like it should. What do you think Michigan should do to change that (besides the obvious like have a better OL or QB)?
Do you put in more stadium suites to help hold in the sound? Do you kick out all of the fans that say "down in front"? Expand the student section?

Intimidation isn't really a thing. In fact I loved playing away as an athlete, going to knew stadiums and having people hate you gives you confidence and can cause teams to rally around themselves more.
This team just lacks toughness and Michigan football hasnt been tough in a long time. The fans were amazing and they still lost. This is a soft bunch especially on the offense
Look no further than the teams Beilein has trotted out. Toughness goes a long way

ITT: People who misinterperate the question as "we lost because it's quiet"
I've always thought overhangs at the top of the stadium would be feasible, but I'm not an architect. I do get tired of hearing "It's not the loudest stadium in the country even though it's the biggest..." by everyone calling every game.

114,000 people SHOULD be way way louder and intimidating but nothing seems to change or get better as far as the crowd noise goes

I thought our team looked very intimidated

the students taking on their best Spartan student section personalities and chanting "You Suck Bitch" Awful, just awful. You have more class than that.

Get offense that can score more than 10 points at home against an unranked opponent?

for Quidditch? I think we should investigate this thoroughly.

Some energizing music and some pom poms at the very least. What happened to playing Sandstorm by Darude? That to me is one of the best for a college football game. I remember they played it at the first Under the Lights at ND and it was a terrific energizer. SANDSTORM.

And losing to lesser teams. We used to dominate lesser teams and always showed up against better competition. The past few years or so, there hasn't been much home field advantage. This is freakin Michigan!!!

1. Sell booze at the games
2. Sell cowbells or some other defeaning prop that makes noise
3. Like foreign football, have dedicated hype men/women in sections to get the crowd into it. (In some places, if you dont cheer, they toss you)
4. Another idea from soccer...more chants and sing-alongs.
5. MORE BAND!

In the B1G:
- Iowa
- Illinois
- Penn State
- Minnesota
- Northwestern
- Nebraska
- Wisconsin
- Rutgers
- Indiana
- Michigan State
- Purdue
- Michigan
- Maryland
- Ohio State
Iowa I would have guessed. The rest of it I can't explain; it certainly doesn't seem to correlate to crowd noise or intimidation level. Ohio State has barely even had an HFA the last few years; they've only lost one true road game in 5 1/2 seasons.
The really strange thing is that 12 of the top 13 in all of FBS are the Pac 12 teams.
